07/07/2025: It is not easy to get there but between the breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore and the exquisite dishes it is fully worth a visit. I highly recommend it

30/06/2025: Really nice place, very cool in summer. We ate very well, game dishes and very good first courses, also the desserts were very appreciated. They also make pizza but not always, better to ask when booking if you want it. To try. We will be back.

13/06/2025: An unassuming but excellent restaurant. I first went there for lunch with work colleagues for an unbelievable €10(!). After that, it became a standard, primarily because of the quality offered for that price. The service was a bit strange at first, but I got used to it over time. I'm looking forward to my next stay in Varese, and to visiting Sapore di mare again!

23/06/2025: Very very tasty food, you feel very welcome with the chef/maitre d’hotel who speaks at least 3 languages, gives you an aperitif without alcohol with home-made bread sticks as a gift and probably bakes the other bread on the table himself. We ate a delicious risotto with sea freight and a sea bass al cartoccio (in papillotte) to die for with tasty white (me) and red (Jan) house wine. Not expensive at all, go and try it. ! Quiet airy terrace with some locals.

19/01/2025: Premetto che è un ristorante in cui di solito abbiamo sempre mangiato bene, ma oggi è stata tragica. Tagliatelle al ragù e porcini mandate indietro perchè terribili sembravano in brodo e il sugo non aveva alcun sapore. La cameriera molto professionale ha provveduto subito e le ha fatte rifare, commestibili di certo migliori ma non di certo degne di un ristorante e ragù non pervenuto, tanti funghi ma insapore. Spezzatino con polenta asciutto e duro, si notava subito che qualcosa non andasse bene nel piatto. Non volevo sconti o altro ma al momento del conto mi sarei aspettato che almeno ci chiedessero come fosse andata. Ok non siamo assidui in questo locale ma fino ad ora è sempre stato un piacere andarci, spero sia stato un caso sfortunato che ci ha rovinato il pranzo, fatto sta che pagare 70 euro per mangiare peggio che in una mensa mi da alquanto fastidio. 14/07/2025: The restaurant's highlight is the view, which is definitely stunning. The food definitely needs improvement. I wasn't sold on it. The pizzoccheri were also strange. Definitely not traditional, and the cheese was the wrong size and heavy! The quality of the cold cuts was nothing special!

Wide choice of first courses, second courses and side dishes. Choose with confidence, you will not be disappointed by any dish. The prices are honest and Signora Paola's desserts allow you to end a meal that is certainly worth remembering. Highly recommended!
