06/10/2025: We stumbled upon this place quite by chance a few nights ago. The place is really cozy and has a wonderful, elegant feel. The food was simply delicious, and the staff was super friendly and very attentive. We really enjoyed our time here. Hopefully, we'll be back soon!

03/01/2026: Paid too much for the service received. Had a Christmas dinner with friends. Left a €10 deposit per person 10 days before the dinner. We ate roast platters, two first courses (gnocchi and vegetable pie), and a second course of roast (very thin 1cm slice) with polenta. The food wasn't excellent. Dessert of our choice wasn't included in the set menu. We didn't ask for extra wine. I bought 1 grappa each and 6 coffees. We added €40.25 per person, not including the €10 deposit. There were 16 of us. Total €804. They even wanted 25 cents per person... madness. They kicked everyone out at 10:45 PM on Saturday, December 20th. I won't be returning. It's a shame because, being a farmhouse, it all seems excessive to me.
25/12/2025: I went back after a long time because I had good memories of it..... Poor service, mediocre food, horrible wine, enormous waiting times between courses and a lot of rudeness...

05/01/2026: Great location, miniature rooms, very slow breakfast service, overwhelmed reception staff, no noteworthy bar service
03/01/2026: Getting there was a huge problem (no parking near the hotel).
Departure was an even bigger problem (we had to wait three hours!! before the hotel staff was able to retrieve our car from the garage for our drive home).
The room had no natural light; the curtained window opened onto a dirty elevator shaft where a very noisy ventilation unit was operating.
The immediate charge for the room was also rather unusual.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

The waiters are very friendly; I recommend the creamed cod and spaghetti alla Barcolana.
The wine list is also excellent.

06/01/2026: Unfortunately, they've changed management. It's no longer as welcoming as it once was.
I used to frequent the Osteria La de Jure in Trieste. Since the change of management, something has changed for the worse. I've had them refuse to charge separate bills when paying by POS or cash, using the excuse that they'd already entered the entire bill into the computer. Here at the Osteria, we were used to everyone paying their own way; it was a surprise and a problem not to be able to do so.
But if that were the only reason, I wouldn't have given it a star. My rating stems from the poor behavior of an employee behind the counter, who responded very negatively and rudely to our polite request to pay separately.
A real shame... between high prices and this behavior, I don't think it's worth going to "La de Jure" anymore.

22/12/2025: We arrived for lunch without a reservation and had a very short wait for a table. This small, quaint, homey place has friendly and helpful staff, very quick service, and excellent food (very generous portions, but you can take leftovers home)! Just be aware that fish isn't available every day, only on Fridays, but for those like me who don't eat meat, there are some tasty vegetarian options. Very reasonable prices!

29/11/2025: I discovered a pizzeria near my house when I moved to the neighborhood... I always ordered takeout, and for a while the service was top-notch, always fast and punctual, the staff were all kind and friendly, and the pizza became my favorite in all of Trieste. Then, at some point, something must have changed because they never made a pizza right, either because they were missing ingredients or didn't follow the instructions in the notes (which even specified food intolerances). The first few times, I gave up, trusting that future orders would be successful. After another mistake, I called the pizzeria and spoke to a nervous woman who wasn't willing to listen or talk. She offered me a €2 refund on my next order (????). Instead, I asked for the pizza to be remade and returned correct, since it wasn't the first time this had happened, and I was even asked to return the wrong one. Yesterday I gave it one last chance...and the pizza arrived wrong once again...as much as I'm sorry, it's clear I won't order again.
24/10/2025: The national pizzeria on Via Campanelle! The pizzas are super good and light, and everyone is super friendly.
