09/03/2025: High cost and rude staff. I don't recommend

27/02/2025: We were passing through on business and we were recommended by local people to have lunch at a "typical Modena trattoria even if the prices were a little higher". The atmosphere of the place recalls a traditional trattoria: welcoming place, soft light, vintage furnishings, very clean... nothing to say even if I find it very formal and a little sad. Both dishes tried were rather disappointing and decidedly/unjustifiably expensive: the fried polenta with cheese and bacon was not crunchy at all, the cheese was good but not the bacon; the tortellini in capon broth which should have been the main dish turned out to be too overcooked and some even "falling apart" with a consistency of the pasta that was not at all satisfactory. Furthermore, the accompanying grated parmesan also seemed very unseasoned to us. The people at the tables were courteous (which is different from 'kind') but completely cold. I didn't like it at all that towards the end of the meal, without any request on our part, they emptied our bottle of mineral water by filling our glasses and opened another one for us (which in practice remained full) with the clear intention of charging another €4 to our bill. In summary: €81 for 1 plate of (almost) fried polenta, 2 tortellini in broth, 1 coffee, 2 bottles of mineral water (1 of which was not requested). Very disappointing experience.

01/12/2024: Siamo tornati dopo qualche anno in questo locale, ma l'esperienza è stata negativa; il bagno impresentabile, tavoletta tutta crepata .. non so come si possa definire igienica. Il servizio... Lasciamo perdere, la cameriera ha rovesciato la bibita sul tavolo e sulla felpa di mia figlia. Senza scusarsi ha portato due tovagliolini per tamponare la tovaglia. Cibo mediocre..

13/10/2024: Torniamo da questi che ormai consideriamo nostri amici, vista la gentilezza e la simpatia. Oggi abbiamo gustato la polenta col cervo. Lo spezzatino di cervo è eccezionale, marinato a lungo col ginepro e stracotto con le cipolle, tipo genovese napoletana. Veramente soddisfatti. Dopo, fiera del cioccolato, con numerosi assaggi di ogni tipo di golosità

02/02/2025: There were 9 of us last night, unfortunately we didn't have a good time!! Well received but the first courses very tasteless "the tortelloni the butter was still there in small pieces without even melting and I would say frozen" in addition to the tortelloni we also tried the tagliatelle and in the end almost everything was sent back! The discrete seconds We told the lady that we really didn't like the first courses because she asked us to send almost everything back but anyway they made us pay for everything!!

13/01/2025: Only went for dinner. All ok, easy going, but all good. For a quick dinner, ok for me. No animals, but just knowing... Very good meat.

11/03/2025: They have returned to the old management which was already a guarantee, but now they also have a new chef who rocks. Fresh pasta and risottos absolutely top. Very fair account! Absolutely recommended

06/04/2025: Today I had the opportunity to have lunch with friends at this restaurant. The experience was fantastic and the dishes were delicious. I really enjoyed the nettle tortelloni with walnut sauce! I really liked it a lot! Since I didn't want to get too full I went straight to dessert where I got a mascarpone with chocolate flakes; very good! To finish, after dessert I had decaffeinated coffee. The other diners were also satisfied with the experience! I really think that in the future I will definitely return to this restaurant because since it was my first time in my life to have eaten in this place I had a very good time!! Well done, thanks!

24/12/2024: Siamo rimasti completamente scontenti. Avevo organizzato un compleanno in questo posto che però non si è rivelato all'altezza della situazione, con personale scortese, cibo di scarsa qualità e prezzo elevato. Non credo ripeterò l'esperienza, in quanto oltretutto mi ha anche fatto fare una pessima figura nei confronti dei miei amici

08/04/2025: Piccolo locale con qualche tavolino esterno nella piazza e pochi tavoli all’interno. Offerta culinaria a base prevalentemente di tigelle, taglieri, zuppe e insalate quindi idoneo per uno spuntino o aperitivo o pranzo veloce. Rapporto qualità/prezzo nella media per l’unico piatto consumato (Cestino di tigelle gourmet – euro 10,90 nella media la quantità della portata). Personale femminile di servizio molto cortese, attento e sorridente. Locale igienico piccolo ma pulito. Unico neo non indifferente il fatto che i pochi tavoli siano troppo vicini gli uni agli altri e ci sia un bancone lungo la piccola vetrata con qualche ulteriore posto idoneo per un aperitivo (bella la possibilità di vedere fuori la piazza mentre si consuma) ma non mai per pranzare poiché è particolarmente scomodo stare seduti su uno sgabello alto senza schienale per troppo tempo. Per quanto mi riguarda segnalo, al riguardo, un solo disappunto … nonostante avessi prenotato per il pranzo alcuni giorni prima mi sono ritrovato da “single” sullo sgabello con bancone e ho fatto presente la mia contrarietà… mi è stato detto che è una direttiva dei “capi” sistemare i “single” quando è tutto pieno il locale su tale bancone… ho risposto che “sarebbe stato opportuno dirmelo all’atto della prenotazione e mi sarei regolato di conseguenza”. Senza tale scomoda situazione la mia esperienza sarebbe stata certamente migliore e più positiva consentendomi di consumare anche qualche altra pietanza e meglio poter apprezzare e quindi giudicare il locale che ha, secondo me, buone potenzialità.

18/03/2025: Per una sosta a Modena, abbiamo scelto questa trattoria/Hosteria e scelta non poteva essere più felice, ci sono vari taglieri con l’accompagno delle classiche tigelle, abbiamo scelto 4 taglieri diversi, e devo dire che i prodotti sono da gourmet, dal prosciutto d.o.p. alla mortadella fino ai salumi dal parmigiano d.o.p. alla pancetta stagionata, per non parlare delle zuppe, quelle abbiamo prese erano veramente gustose. Unica raccomandazione visto i pochi posti disponibili all’interno conviene prenotare in tempo, lo consiglio.

22/02/2025: An excellent canteen!!!! Luckily there is a salvation for those who work in the center and don't want to get ripped off by trendy places with mediocre food and high prices.
