11/11/2025: This café has a special feature. Between approximately 8:00 and 10:00 in October and November, you can sit outside and enjoy your coffee in the morning sun, weather permitting. It's perfect for people-watching as Udine awakens. Saturdays and Sundays are best. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. The prices are very reasonable for the location. Highly recommended.

30/11/2025: I had to think about it a bit before writing as balanced a review as possible, partly because I was recommended by friends who had warned me about the prices, and partly because I never like to write reviews on the spur of the moment without thinking first. That said, I can say with complete confidence that the products used (scampi, tuna, cod, pink shrimp, prawns, blue shrimp, scallops, and baby squid (and not calamari as indicated)) are of excellent quality despite having been frozen some time ago... The cuisine, in my humble opinion, is nothing so exceptional as to justify the €270 spent (without even knowing the cost details) for two people with 10 small dishes of appetizers only, 5 raw and 5 cooked! Let me explain... minus the estimated €40 for the bottle (we drank a Trentino seafood mix, a bottle that cost €15-18; I hope I didn't pay more than €40), plus dessert (four slices of Sacher Torte, really good, but I don't know the price), two bottles of water, and the cover charge, the remaining €200-210 for the two menus is truly excessive, both for the quantity and the quality of the presentation and cooking! I'll definitely be back for some good wine with some friends, but I doubt I'll order anything else to eat again without a menu and the prices on display, given how good everything was! The price is Michelin-starred, but it isn't, and in my humble opinion, it's very far from becoming one! The owner is very kind and introduced himself even though he'd just undergone surgery, which is worthy of applause, but unfortunately, I repeat, the price is way too high! Finally, a major lapse in style with supermarket pink salt, supermarket bread, and pairings with bitter, out-of-season zucchini and a Garda olive oil that, in my opinion (given the fantastic olive oils from the Carso region), is truly of extremely low quality! I'm sorry to say this, but unfortunately, Trieste and the Carso region continue to lag far behind the rest of Italy in the restaurant industry! Yet we have plenty of good products! What a shame!

13/10/2025: We stopped by during the Barcolana festival and couldn't help but stop for oysters (G!) and bubbles (an excellent Trento DOC)! The staff was super helpful (thank you, Irene!) and efficient! We'll be back.

14/09/2025: I found this bar by chance. The owner(?) was friendly, super fast, and they served delicious snacks with the drinks – something I've never experienced before. And all at surprisingly reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

13/11/2025: I went here with a colleague before lunch for coffee. The brioche was so-so, but the service was impeccable.

16/11/2025: Ultra-traditional Friulian cuisine, excellent flavors and excellent value. Two or three first courses, two or three second courses every day for an excellent fixed-price lunch. I recommend it to anyone passing through; it's much better than all the restaurants at the Udine Fair, which are close in terms of physical distance but far away in terms of authenticity and pleasantness.

15/11/2025: One-year review update: Greatti is still excellent. After a year of discovering and frequenting this place, especially for lunch on Saturdays, we can say that Greatti is unmatched for its consistently varied and seasonal menus, generous portions, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly, attentive service from people who know how to work. The indoor and outdoor spaces make it a perfect place for any season, and the quality-price ratio is excellent. It's also nice to see so many young, dedicated waitresses who always have a smile and a pleasant manner.

14/12/2025: The Diplomata is expensive and the quality is very low, nothing particularly remarkable. The hot chocolate, too, would be served almost cold... at such prices, I expect something more. 1 coffee, 1 Diplomata, 1 hot chocolate, €12 😱 (It's always crowded, so they're doing a good job), but not for me. The bathroom, for an establishment like this, is very questionable, both in terms of cleanliness and condition... Not for me either...

09/12/2025: A very cute and welcoming pastry shop, with kind and attentive staff. During the Christmas season, the hot chocolate is simply irresistible. A recommended stop for a sweet break! 😀

09/09/2025: I stopped by for a coffee and croissant and I have to say I was very satisfied. The bar is well-kept and clean, and the staff is polite and friendly. I'll end by speaking highly of the coffee, especially since bars usually serve cappuccinos with scalding milk (boiled and re-boiled), but not here, so the coffee is very good!!! Really good!!!

27/11/2025: An excellent business lunch break in this informal yet very welcoming and clean restaurant. Service is fast, and the staff is very professional, smiling, and helpful. The varied menu features traditional local and Italian dishes. The dishes are excellent and plentiful, and the prices are moderate and consistent with the menu. Ample parking is available in front of the restaurant. Highly recommended.

16/11/2025: I ate very well, both the tagliatelle with San Daniele and poppy seeds and the tripe. It's just a shame I asked for fried vegetables as a side and got grilled vegetables instead. I didn't complain, but I was wrong because they were raw and inedible. Very simple location, friendly staff.
