19/05/2025: AVOID!! We go there for lunch, as a couple. Welcoming place, nice outdoor garden to have lunch. We sit down and the waiter arrives, with a board in his hand and tells us "this is the menu of the day", with three first courses, three second courses and two very banal side dishes. When I ask if that was the only menu, he answers yes. We are practically forced to take rigatoni, snow peas and speck, the only choice that seemed decent. After 5 minutes, two ladies arrive and are offered the menu of the day and the à la carte menu. I call the waiter asking for explanations and he LYINGLY answers that they only do the à la carte menu in the EVENING. The two ladies order from the à la carte menu serenely, having more choice than us. In the meantime, we are brought a pasta dish, very shabby, overcooked, very salty and that only tasted of stock cubes. The worst thing is that I explain the matter at the cash register, the girl ignores me at first, then later says that the waiter is new, then asks me for €33 with the plates left full on the table. I see a lot of cunning and little skill, because the food sucks and the service even more. AVOID GETTING SCAMMED LIKE US.

01/12/2024: Excellent dishes of typical Trieste, Istrian and Friulian cuisine, with happy contaminations with that of other Italian regions. Simple but welcoming atmosphere, like an old tavern, like you don't find anymore; the managers are very kind and friendly. Very good wine. We found the place by chance, walking through the streets of Trieste, and we will return! The sausage with beans alla Trinità, sauerkraut and potatoes in tecia is very tasty! Keep it up!

31/05/2025: Very good food! The service was extremely friendly and they spoke excellent German. The restaurant serves almost exclusively fish dishes, which definitely taste very fresh! I highly recommend the octopus salad with celery!

There were 6 of us at dinner and we had 5 first courses, 1 second course and 3 side dishes: carbonara, matriciana, stew with potatoes, artichokes, chicory and chips, all very good, exceptional carbonara. 01/04/2025: When we go to Villa Cecilia we are always treated like family. The owner Antonella is always ready to satisfy every need. The location is wonderful because, especially in summer with the outdoor patio/garden, you can enjoy a view of Udine and the surrounding plain that is truly unique!! And even more so in the evening. We often return also because the seafood Paella, made to order, is exceptional!!! Strictly house wines.
