26/10/2025: Tucked away from the center, but not far, lies this small osteria. I was warmly welcomed into an intimate, lovingly and lovingly curated setting, lit by candlelight. A handwritten menu featuring heartfelt Tuscan dishes is savored, and it's clear it's all family-run, "like it used to be." Recommended for those seeking authenticity, intimacy, and that little touch of self-respect that's too often missing from restaurants.
26/10/2025: A charming little hideaway. I took my boyfriend for his birthday dinner. It was a perfect place, perfect for intimate moments and relaxation, with wonderful retro music. Very suitable for intimate evenings and with friends, and (in my personal opinion) it's perfect. Interior: very Alice in Wonderland, it transports you a little bit into fairy tales, with tables not too close to each other, light French-flavored music, a truly relaxing, romantic and autumnal atmosphere. I find the decor very interesting, it takes you back in time and a little bit to children, with the large central house and candlelight. Food: excellent, I had one appetizer (several courses as pictured), one first course, two second courses, and two desserts. The ricotta gnocchi and meat are fabulous, the octopus and chard are also excellent, the bread is varied, and the dessert is fantastic. Try the lemon-infused panna cotta and the chocolate cake, both amazing. Well-appointed table, simple and autumnal table setting, GOOD WINE SELECTION. Staff: very attentive and not intrusive; in fact, a young man who does his job well and is attentive. The lady who offered us a fabulous glass of Vermont herb wine after a tasting was very kind and lovely. Spent 96 euros for two, and we'd love to repeat the experience. We even thanked the chefs. WORTHY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR A ROMANTIC EVENING 🌹 OR WITH CLOSE FRIENDS ☺️

28/09/2025: Give me one reason to return! This used to be a great place until owners changed. We still remember Mr. Collebrunachi’s magnificent Bistecca di manzo or their great ribs (both truky excellent!), and selection of wide variety of wild game meals and great wines for fair prices. This is almost all gone, replaced with a more generic menu I can find in every other restaurant across Tuscany, doubled prices and smaller portions. Fiorentina steak, pasta with ragu or pasta with truffles is really nothing special in the area anymore, certainly not at this price/portions levels and in the isolated location reachable only by the narrowest most beaten road in the whole of Italy 😜 Ok lets not be overly critical and look at what is still good: Wine list looks good if you just do not care about the high pricing. The house wine rosso Collebrunacchi was actually great and remained at affordable price. The beef with porcini was tasty (just SO tiny…) All the pasta is still excellent here (just small portions and pasta is great everywhere in Tuscany…) The mix grill for multiple people actually preserved some of the good old Collebrunacchi grill meals - rabbit, pork ribs etc. for a fair price (well you said it s for 2 people and I could finish it alone easily ;) ) Tiramisu and pannacotta (both excellent…as well as miniature versions of what it used to be. I also think frutti di bosco were much better match with pannacotta than the amandel but that can just be a personal taste) The staff still work here and their smiles and friendly approach keep the cosy family place vibes. I want to end with a constructive recommendation to the new owners (that nobody asked for, sorry, but its free 😁): I understand the pricing and changes may be there for various reasons, but as a customer I need a motivation to actually come here again. If we are to pay for dinner for two 80-100 eur and drive to the middle of nowhere on THIS road, you must offer something truly special or unique! a) great price / value ratio (not the case anymore, prices practically levelled with restaurants in the center of Florence) b) truly unique meals (maybe some french/italian fusion with delicatesses impossible to find elsewhere around? Bring back the guinea fawl and other true specialties? Wild boar stew wont cut it anymore) c) excellent 5 star unbeatable quality (not the case - we got friendly, but fairly regular service and while the quality of meals was overall high, it was still comparable to many other places in Tuscany we visited. Extra recommendations to fix the menu: The polentino appetizers were soaked in oil, almost tasteless- Id just drop it from the menu and replaced anything deepfried with something fresh Fixing the sides - marinated single kind vegetables and fries? I d just rethink and add some more inspiring and satisfying sides, so many options out there… Deserts? Maybe add creme brule? Offer Panna cotta also with frutti di bosco? Maybe Truffle flavored ice cream? Deserts are the place for real creativity and uniqueness…i did not see it this time. The boiled hen - it was undercooked, without salt or spices = zero taste - just drop it or mark as “for your pets” ( sorry, maybe too harsh to put it like that but so was my experience and surprise with this one, I am no cook but I d still cook it better! 🤣) Alright, where does it leave us - it’s your restaurant and your choice how you manage it. But I think name of Collebrunacchi and good marketing can only go so far. I tried my feedback to be not just harsh criticism but constructive too - give it some thinking and I hope you will find at least some of it useful to make the restaurant change a positive and successful one. This is not a farewell, we will try to visit again if we are in the area, to see how things are developing - once we do, I d also update my review here if things change. In the meantime - best of luck with your new business :) Last but not least - heartful thanks and respect to the family Collebrunacchi (and the staff!) for all the years of magnificent dining and memories!!
25/09/2025: A beautiful place to enjoy the country air and sleep. Wow, excellent cuisine that takes us out of the ordinary. The hosts and staff are very welcoming and warm. We promise to return. You also love the truffles, wine, and olive oil. Their neighbors are producers that we can also enjoy at the evening restaurant. Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you again.

Specializing in traditional Tuscan cuisine, we ate: spaghetti with porcini mushrooms, stringozzi with Cinta ragù, tripe Butese-style, and sliced ​​Cinta beef with a side of porcini mushrooms and beans... everything was truly EXCELLENT, as were the homemade desserts. The service was attentive and fast. We were guests, so I didn't pay, but the prices on the menu are definitely reasonable. Reservations are required because it's always busy.
05/10/2025: Excellent Pisan trattoria. We went here for a family lunch on Sunday and had a wonderful meal. The appetizer was traditional Tuscan and featured high-quality cured meats. The tagliolini with mushrooms were, I dare say, out of this world, the tagliata was delicious, and the homemade desserts were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was fair and in line with the quality of the food. Go there!!

13/10/2025: I went for lunch on Sunday. The food was really good, and many of the ingredients were local. The staff was friendly, and the prices were fair. We would have liked to know there was a set menu with many courses, but we enjoyed everything we ate. There was a wide selection for main courses. The Campo Lakes are also nearby, perfect for a stroll after lunch! Overall, highly recommended!

Cibo toscano di ottima qualità, olio prodotto da loro, vino delle loro viti, lodevole, verdure delle loro coltivazioni, un ristorante per chi ha voglia di immergersi nel buon cibo, nella cortesia di questa famiglia dalle molteplici sensibilità. Vista la qualità del cibo mangiato e le ricche porzioni, prezzo ottimo. Non c'è un menu alla carta che fa scegliere tra mille piatti sterili, ci si lascia coccolare dalla loro quotidiana produzione. Questa sera antipasto misto molto molto ricco, enorme tagliere di salumi toscani, verdure alla giardiniera che porterò nella mia memoria gustativa, cipolle caramellate dolcissime, olive di produzione propria, pane fatto in casa, flan di zucchine, crostini fritti. Primo tortelli di pasta fatta in casa con ricotta ed erbette raccolte nei loro campi, secondo a scelta tra alcune possibili alternative. Avendo anche il piccolo con noi abbiamo presto la grigliata, ottima carne cotta con maestria nel camino acceso con legni di ulivo. Dolci a scelta sempre fatti in casa, ho preso una pavlova panna e meringhe con marmellata di casa, mio figlio dei biscotti con farina dei cereali della cascina. Caffè e nel cuore la simpatia, l'eleganza e la sensibilità di una famiglia che crede nel valore dei prodotti coltivati, cresciuti, cotti e serviti ai propri ospiti con rispetto trasmettendo il valore dei tempi e della cura della materia prima e dei suoi tempi di elaborazione e cottura. Lo consigliamo a tutti.

07/10/2025: I rarely give bad reviews, and this was no different in this case... I've never had a bad meal in Italy...unfortunately, this is the first time I've had one. In the latest Tuscany travel guide (Müller Verlag), this restaurant, a little outside and remote from San Miniato, is touted as a good truffle restaurant. My husband ordered beef tartare with truffles as an appetizer, and we both ordered pasta with truffles for our main course. Surprisingly, the appetizer and my main course were brought out at the same time...(in retrospect, that was a good thing for us, as we ended up canceling the second portion of truffle pasta). The beef tartar was completely unseasoned, neither salted nor peppered, and the truffle topping was absolutely flavorless, which is an absolute feat, as truffles are normally highly aromatic and intense, and we've had the pleasure of enjoying this very special specialty in many restaurants... The truffle pasta was covered under a hood, which was then aired... a strange smell (at first, I had a chlorine scent) wafted up... I thought it might be from the freshly washed dishes... water in Italy is occasionally slightly chlorinated, and possibly the pasta was cooked in chlorinated water... no idea... in any case, it wasn't the expected scent of fresh truffles!!! The pasta was al dente, but not particularly high-quality pasta; the surface was smooth; there are better options. The sauce was tiny in quantity, and the generous amount of truffle shaved over it (summer truffle, by the looks of it...) smelled or tasted absolutely nothing like truffles. (As I said, an art with such a highly aromatic ingredient... the chef must have noticed it when shaving it over...) The service was reservedly friendly, but the option to cancel the second portion of truffle pasta was very nice, thank you for that. The restaurant itself is set in a beautiful garden and pleasantly secluded; anyone can find it using Google Maps. There's a large parking lot. Maybe we were just unlucky... what a pity, we were so looking forward to a delicious truffle experience to round off our vacation... Generally on the higher side, which isn't a problem for us if the quality is right... but not for what we were offered, I'm disappointed... 1x truffle beef tartar, 1x truffle linguini, including 1 glass of white wine (by the glass, it was very good) and 1 bottle of still water, for a reasonable €61. If I could give zero stars, I would... sorry. P.S.: The dining room (lots of cobwebs...) is in dire need of cleaning... and I'm really not picky... even in a country inn, cobwebs aren't part of the atmosphere... My response to the owner's expected unfriendly reaction: Best regards, Mr. Stefano! I can only judge what I consumed, and that, of course, isn't the entire menu on my first visit... I certainly wasn't imagining that first smell; I have a good nose... but let's leave it at that... The fact is, the truffles didn't smell or taste even remotely like truffles... perhaps they were old or smoked out, it can happen... Looking at their reactions to criticism, however, they urgently need to attend a seminar on conflict management and dealing with customer criticism. As soon as customers point out deficiencies, they immediately become personal, even insulting, in their conversation... does that really have to be? An excellent restaurant is characterized by politeness, courtesy, and a good tone in EVERY SITUATION, especially when criticism is being offered. Nobody's perfect... not even their establishment... and who says we won't come back? Everyone gets a second chance with me!

07/10/2025: On the way to the accommodation location we stopped at this agrotourism stop. We ordered pasta, rabbit meat and game. The portions were good, but small (like Masterchef). It could have been more. But a place to visit.
30/09/2025: We stopped for lunch on the way back from Volterra, and it was a lucky find, given our terrible experience in Volterra. We stopped a bit disheartened and in a foul mood, and left with bellies full of excellent food and in a much better mood thanks to the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner. It's definitely worth a stop; the food is good and plentiful, the prices are absolutely reasonable...and kudos to the "mother-in-law's" tart! '^v.

23/09/2025: An elegant place, perfect for a quiet evening. The owner welcomed us and treated us wonderfully, a gentleman whose passion shines through in every gesture. Kudos also to the waitress. I had the peci with duck ragù in white wine, and it was delicious. Highly recommended.
10/09/2025: A place recommended by a travel guide. It's quite hidden, like a little treasure. The ambiance is unique, but the decor is meticulously crafted. The service was extremely friendly and courteous (just 10 minutes after we ordered, they even took care to reassure us that we hadn't received our food yet). The dishes are prepared with just the right amount of attention, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The price is reasonable compared to what I would have expected for a place like this.
