05/10/2025: Ordered just pizzas and beer. The taste was like frozen pizzas from the supermarket. I wish I could rate them even lower. It is a shame to serve such bad pizzas for Italy standard. The service was Ok however the waiter was a bit unkind with a face like he is not happy to serve us.

09/06/2025: Excellent, you have to try the Steak alla Florentina (Bistecca alla Florentina), it's worth it! It's best to make a reservation; the service is very good, as is the food.

13/09/2025: Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere surrounded by greenery, and upon entry, the inviting yet unobtrusive smell of grilled meat fills the air. The cellar is well-stocked, and during this time of year, mushrooms galore, beautifully pan-fried and grilled caps.

17/11/2025: A welcoming place with attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. The meat is among the best around, and the grill is top-notch. The various dishes are also excellent, cooked to perfection.

21/10/2025: We ate very well 🥩 Took some meat sushi and two pieces of different meat. One had a green salsa and potatoes, another came with cheese and mushrooms. We also took the secret dolce, which was very unusual and good! But not to reveal the secret, I won’t post here the pictures of it and won’t tell you what it is. Just ry it! The service was good. One of the waiters knew the menu well and gave us some advice. The only thing that was bothering me is that, since the place is quite small, they had the set of glasses and plates just behind me. And around 5-7 times they had to hover over me to reach and take something. This is very uncomfortable, especially when we are eating.

13/10/2025: Very nice and welcoming place. Let's start with the service, which wasn't bad but not quite up to par. The waiter, probably a novice, first forgot to bring water, which was requested a second time after a few minutes of waiting. Then, when the appetizers arrived, he hadn't cleared the bread plates, and we were the ones who had to put them aside and hold onto them until the main course. Considering the €3.50 cover charge, I expected a little more attentive service. Appetizers: We had the same appetizer, porcini mushrooms. It was good but too sweet and sour, a characteristic that recurs in several dishes (too much for me). Main course: I had the chicken with ricotta and sweet potatoes, while my boyfriend had the onion stuffed with Taleggio cheese. We both didn't enjoy these dishes very much. The side dish, the same for both main courses, was sweet potatoes, decidedly soggy and super greasy. I left them on my plate. The chicken piece, given the price, was honestly too small, but the flavor was good and delicate, along with the creamy base. Regarding my boyfriend's second course, the stuffed onion, honestly, the price didn't match the dish either: simple, unpretentious ingredients for a price that was too high. The flavor wasn't pleasant, especially on the outside of the onion. The desserts were good. If we hadn't had the 30% discount from The Fork, the total price would have been much higher than we paid, about €60 per person, which, to be honest, is a bit too much for what we ate and the service provided.

12/10/2025: The food was very good; we had two appetizers (two tartares) and two first courses. The service was excellent; the waiter was always professional, kind, and helpful. It was a bit hot, unfortunately. Overall, we had a great time.

02/11/2025: The castle is beautiful to see. As for the inn, it's nice. I found the location a bit shabby, but the dishes are good. We had two first courses: the homemade tagliatelle with sauce were perfect, the brigoli a bit overcooked for my taste. The mixed second course was a bit burnt, and the presentation, while rustic, left a bit to be desired. Desserts were donut pieces with Vin Santo. The service was a bit slow, but perhaps that was due to the waitress's young age. I wouldn't say I'd try it.

A heartfelt thank you to all the Controcorrente staff for pampering us with taste and smiles... you were simply SUPERB!

02/10/2025: After two excellent experiences, it fully deserves five stars. The atmosphere is informal yet refined and welcoming, with the colors and aromas of home. Meat dishes, as per Tuscan tradition, compliments to the chef and all the staff. We'll be back again.

13/10/2025: The dishes are beautifully crafted and extremely tasty. The friendly and helpful staff contribute to a high-quality dining experience. The fried rabbit and ragù, in particular, were exceptional, as was the appetizer.

22/09/2025: I've known it for years and have been coming here for a long time. The food is good and the service is good, but the waitress was rather distracted tonight. We asked for burgers with the burger bun on the side, and she brought us regular bread. We asked for a portion of cantuccini, and she only brought us one. I'm always a thank you person, but tonight, given the girl's attitude, I left without thanking her. Out of politeness, I'm used to saying thank you and "please" with every request, and we received only superficial remarks.
