11/10/2025: Typical Tuscan food For starters, we had the house appetizers, very good, especially eggplant with olives and capers. For main course, we had a very special pasta dish: stuffed fatsa, without pasta, ricotta, parmesan, spinach, and sage. It was super delicious. For main course, a typical local stew with red wine and pepper, very good. The service was very good. On a minor note, they were slow, but when you're on vacation, everything feels good. I would recommend it.

18/10/2025: A simple place, but the two owners, with their no-frills yet enviably friendly approach, make you feel right at home. The typical Tuscan cuisine reminds me of my dad's. The last stretch of road is bumpy, but don't worry, anyone can get there. It's worth a try; you'll see, you'll be back if you're in the area. Traditional Tuscan Food

They welcomed us very well and were present and attentive in fulfilling our requests. The proposals are not very many, but this is an indication of the care in preparing the food which is truly excellent. A place to try if you have not been there yet

23/07/2025: Very clean place, with a family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The host, Mr. Alberto, is very kind and friendly, and Mrs. Laura's cooking was exquisite. We'll definitely be back. The Florentine steak was excellent, the first courses were delicious, and the desserts were excellent too. Highly recommended.

02/11/2025: The special purple cabbage risotto cooked in a jar, and the venison sirloin with mushrooms, chestnuts, and Jerusalem artichokes—a perfect choice. We'll definitely be back to try the exotic meat and other risottos! The host, a combination of passion and kindness, is always a pleasure. It's a shame we're not friends and can't invite each other to dinner at our homes! At Balestra, every dish is a celebration, and every recommended wine is a pleasure for the palate. One thing that saddens us is that the host is an Inter Milan fan, but the customer, with affection, forgives him for this major flaw.

19/11/2025: The wine by the glass was delicious, rated at 3 stars. The food was better than ready-made meals bought at the supermarket. The saltiness was strong. Or the flavor was bland. It's a tourist destination, so maybe that can't be helped.

16/11/2025: Despite showing up at Lucca Comics & Games three different times, rain or shine, we managed to snag a table for two without waiting more than a few minutes each time. The cuisine was traditional, plentiful, and incredibly tasty. The prices were fair, perhaps slightly above average, but I challenge myself to find a restaurant within the city walls like this with record-breaking preparation times, prompt and knowledgeable staff, and such high-quality food! A total pass! It was an unexpected treat that made our Lucca Comics experience a hundredfold!

09/11/2025: I can confirm, after years, that the pizza is excellent, and what I appreciated was that they have some "special" pizzas, like the one with pumpkin, which I found amazing. The place is quiet, and thanks to the wooden ceilings, you can chat peacefully, without the din of some places where you can't speak without shouting. Highly recommended.

11/09/2025: We were directed by our hotel in Druento, not far away, and so it seemed like the famous corner rescue; we settled outside in the area with the large gazebo, and Carlotta immediately welcomed us with a great variety of proposals, we chose a pasta, the ravioli del pin, and I a 🍕; everything well served, by the young and efficient staff, from the subsequent dessert proposals that are worth trying; all in a relaxing and pleasant setting, and then it is located in the main square with a large parking lot right in front, which is convenient. The only oddity, for us, is the Sunday closure which found us in the bs weekend; in any case, a nice place where you can eat and have a good time, without spending a fortune

09/11/2025: I've been a customer for over five years. I consider the family-run restaurant a guarantee. I tend to bring family, colleagues, and customers there, and each time, the owners receive compliments... in addition to increasing the number of customers. The food is excellent, and the service is a mix of kindness and friendliness. Dogs are welcome and welcome. I recommend the restaurant to those following a vegetarian or vegan diet because there are many options to suit all preferences.

19/10/2025: Terrible experience. We were turned away even though the restaurant was half empty. They only told us it was “fully booked” after realizing we spoke English — clearly they just didn’t want to deal with foreigners. The staff barely spoke English and couldn’t be bothered to even try. On top of that, the parking area is extremely steep and only suitable for small cars. Absolutely unwelcoming and disappointing. Avoid this place.
