25/05/2026: I was very happy! I often go there for breakfast or to get delicious desserts. I like that they change the selection often and there are flavors that are hard to find in Perugia. The large cake with the "Happy Birthday" written on it is a millefeuille, slightly heavy, but what else do you expect from a cake with Chantilly cream? 🥰 The other round cake, on the other hand, is YUMMY! Inside there is raspberry, pistachio, and white chocolate mousse. 1000/10!!! The ingredients are also of the highest quality, even the chocolate decorations. A little expensive, but that's normal and understandable for this quality! I paid €45 per kilo for the millefeuille, the other mousse cake was about €50 per kilo.

02/06/2026: THE best food in Florence! We have been dining at Il Barroccio for many years and the food is consitently fantastic. Fresh quality ingredients make all the difference. Gianni is a genius and a warm and unique character who genuinely cares about his work. A comfortable and unfussy little place with simple decor one a quiet street just alongside the Bargello. Go find it, you will be so happy.

01/06/2026: We had such a memorable experience at Il Barroccio. It’s a small, charming spot on a quiet street just off the center of Florence, and it honestly felt like we had stepped into a tiny Italian village. We sat outside and ended up talking with the owner/chef for quite a while—he speaks good English and is incredibly passionate about food and wine. He guided us through what to order and paired everything perfectly. What stood out most was how strongly he feels about food pairings—he even explained why you shouldn’t mix beef and fish because of how it affects the palate. It was fascinating and made the whole meal feel like an experience, not just dinner. The food, wine, and conversation were all delightful. If you’re looking for something authentic and personal rather than touristy, this is the place.

15/06/2026: We came across this place by chance and decided to stop in because it looked really inviting. The food, especially the pasta, was absolutely delicious. We also had a great bottle of wine that paired really well with the meal.

29/05/2026: Food was excellent, seasoned so perfectly. Most of the options were not typical North American food, but the taste was fantastic. The atmosphere was also terrific. Definitely something to experience when in Florence.

05/05/2026: I gave the 5-star review because the quality/price ratio was excellent. Now the prices have doubled and the food has changed. My experience: 4 adults and a 6-year-old child. Total 5 first courses, including a large plate (pasta with ragu) for the child for €16 (there are no children's plates), 2 small pasta dishes full of cinnamon, 2 lukewarm wild boar dishes with small pasta, unfortunately arriving with the appetizer. We had 2 appetizers for 2 people, €16 + €16, but it was all split with a knife because there were no two equal slices, with 3 slices of cheese. A little bread disappeared immediately, 2 bottles of bottled water, 4 coffees at the counter, and complimentary canticci. Total €120. €25 for a small plate of pasta and water?!? It's a shame because in a place like this I expect a memorable meal, not the worry of being ripped off. It would be nice to have some feedback.

07/06/2026: The location is beautiful and the facility has ample and convenient parking, which is definitely a plus. The food is average, nothing special. ​Unfortunately, the only real downside is the staff: terrible. We weren't even greeted upon entry, and when it came time to take our order, the waiter acted extremely condescending, continuing to mind his own business and chatting with his colleagues. The constant feeling was that we were being a nuisance. ​Terrible. I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend it due to the truly poor service.

21/12/2025: Dinner with friends, a wonderful surprise, with a very refined atmosphere. The "whatever you eat" menu is worth trying; I wasn't disappointed. Local produce, or even their own, is served. The price is fair for the dinner offered. There's no à la carte menu, and everything offered is top-quality and seasonal. We'll definitely be back to try other delicious options. Congratulations!

The dinner was excellent: truly tasty and well-balanced dishes, a perfect combination of high-quality ingredients and expert preparation. 01/05/2026: A typical Tuscan trattoria. The host welcomed us with warmth, friendliness, and professionalism. We ate a hearty, quality steak with various side dishes. The desserts were all homemade and delicious. We'll definitely be back.

10/06/2026: We had a delicious lunch at this pleasant restaurant. We tried pici, thick, hand-rolled spaghetti, for the first time. The service was also wonderful; the smiling and polite waitress advised us about vegetarian options. Lunch for two cost €33.

12/06/2026: The place isn't typically crowded with tourists, so it feels quiet. The Florentine steak is delicious. The highlight is the staff, extremely friendly and welcoming, especially Esmeralda: it was truly a pleasure to meet her.

20/05/2026: A two-level restaurant with spacious dining rooms, it was very popular. Despite it being a Tuesday, the place was packed. It was difficult to converse during dinner due to the cheerful hustle and bustle. Traditional Tuscan cuisine. We opted for a mixed grill with sides. I was already expecting a long wait, but it was actually reasonable. The waiter served a nice platter with steak, rosticciana, and sausages, along with the classic sides of beans and spinach. The steak wasn't "as tender as butter," as they say, and the sausages tasted like supermarket sausages. The rosticciana was good. To finish the meal, an excellent torta della nonna. Overall, an average restaurant.

17/02/2026: I went to this restaurant for dinner with the set menu (charcuterie board + steak + side dish + glass of wine + water). The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to listen to customer requests. Everything was delicious, both the dishes and the house wine. The staff even stopped by several times to make sure everything was fine. I will definitely return to try the à la carte menu and I recommend it!
