01/10/2024: Ristorante piccolino posizionato nella parte più esterna di Ortigia, dietro il mercato. Abbiamo prenotato tramite The Fork con uno sconto strabiliante e tutto è andato benissimo. Innanzi tutto il servizio: due ragazze di cui una, la responsabile, professionale ed attenta, l'altra molto giovane a cui si perdona un po' di ansia nel gestire il tavolo :-) Le pietanze ottime. Soprattutto il tonno, per qualità e tecnica di cottura: eccezionale. Sull'arancino un appunto: era ancora freddo all'interno. Conto perfetto CONSIGLIATISSIMO

16/03/2025: The Baqqalà Restaurant, located in the heart of Scicli, is known for its suggestive position in Piazzetta Ficili and for its welcoming atmosphere.  However, my experience was disappointing. The first courses were decent, but the cod, the restaurant's signature dish, was practically non-existent, wrapped in a hard vegetable leaf on a bed of cold chickpeas. Considering the high prices, I expected higher quality. Unfortunately, I had the impression that the place is more oriented towards tourists, offering an experience that does not reflect authentic Sicilian cuisine.

11/03/2025: One of these unexpected but wonderful experiences. From the moment we arrived there was a lovely atmosphere of familiarity. The waiter, Corrado, greeted us with the biggest smile, and gave us the table I had had my eye on from the start even though they were fully booked. He made us aware of the specials of the evening, from which we ordered 2 dishes. The tuna tartare and calamari and gamberi fritti. Both AMAZING. Fresh produce and perfectly prepared. We shared the swordfish nuggets on cheese fondue for our main which, once again was wonderfully balanced and so tasty ! A little ricotta cheesecake and coffee to finish with a glass of dessert wine. We got recommended a beautiful bottle of wine to accompany the meal. They are very knowledgeable, very kind and very attentive ! If you are looking for a beautiful place with good food and good wine to spend your evening. This is the place to go ! Thank you to Corrado and team for making our evening perfect ! 😍

31/10/2024: In the meat plate, there are 4 types of meat 2 peaces each for 16 euros that look weird and too expensive (not tasty as well). Roast beef looks good but is completely tasteless. Swordfish is overroasted and covered with a lot of bitter oil, and it's served with eggplants of disgusting semi-liquid consistency. Canneloni itself is good, but the minced meat filling is too finely chopped and not cooked well. Not a single dish was finished that is too bad for 80 euros for 3 persons.

09/03/2025: Totally overrated place. None of the dishes was tasty enough. Medium rare ordered beef fillet came medium cooked and those ordered medium came as medium well. The meat quality was average. Only the bakery stuff was delicious and that’s it. Big disappointment.

02/12/2024: A small bar near the train station and a few steps from Corso Gelone. Excellent sweet and savory pieces and, if necessary, also abundant and quality first and second courses. Ah... with Gianni there is never a shortage of kindness and friendliness.

08/03/2025: Una gran sorpresa in centro nella città di Pedara. Risotto al nero d'Avola e pecorino ennese top, primo al sugo di cinghiale superlativo. Angus tenerissimo e gustoso. Tiramisù per finire di buonissima qualità e gusto ottimo. Personale gentile e discreto . Locale caratteristico accogliente e caloroso.

23/03/2025: We decided to go to this restaurant, but we will never go there again. The quality of the fish is really low, the swordfish sausage had nothing fishy about it but was all crumbs, the caponata (which arrived significantly later than the starters, so much so that they brought it to us as soon as we already had the dishes to eat the first course) seemed more like a boiled vegetable soup, the gratin mussels seemed pre-cooked and then reheated. Then they gave us a plate in which we had to have both first and second courses, when as in every restaurant they change the dishes between the first and second courses. The pasta with swordfish and fennel was very salty, inedible. The second mixture of grilled fish, roasted squid, prawns etc. was definitely not fresh fish and you can immediately tell when the fish is fresh or if they have had it for several days. Even though it was a fixed menu, we sat down at 1pm but got up at 3.30pm due to the extremely slow service. In the end, at the time of the sweets and bitters, we had the glasses of the bitters, but we asked where the bitters were and they brought them to us after 15 minutes because in their words "they couldn't find the bottles". Surely the expectations were very different, we are people who tend to eat "even the tables" so for us to give such an opinion means that it is really serious, we will never return.

21/03/2025: Sooooo good starters.....plenty for two people....some courses are special...made with care and passion.... We chose appetizers and first courses on the owner's advice....after about 14/16 appetizers we moved on to the first courses.....but we weren't able to finish them.... Worth a try if you are in the area or if you go there specifically.....we will definitely be back.....

05/12/2024: I visited this restaurant in December 2023 with my father and it was one of the best culiniary experience I´VE ever had. The white wine , the food were just wonderful. Before leaving the owner even offered us a one of a kind wine that I wish I knew the name so I could get one now , but I think it was homemade.

11/02/2025: Dopo aver apprezzato l’ottimo pane dello chef Antonio nelle cene delle mie vacanze settembrine lampedusane, non potevo non ordinare il panettone fatto con il medesimo lievito madre (che ho visto rinfrescare quotidianamente con i miei occhi)… Et Voilà!!! Un panettone eccellente, cresciuto come pochi altri, soffice, leggero, saporito… Fatto con amore e maestria, come d’altronde mi aspettavo data l’alta qualità della cucina del Balenottero! Anche qui a Napoli, in questo tiepido inverno, Lampedusa ed il suo miglior ristorante hanno saputo come scaldarci il cuore.

06/01/2025: Da anni veniamo a Lampedusa e ogni volta il Ristorante Balenottero è una tappa obbligata per noi. Questo locale è semplicemente fantastico e rappresenta una certezza per chi cerca qualità e autenticità sull’isola. Il servizio è sempre attento e professionale, lo staff dimostra grande competenza e gentilezza, e i piatti sono realizzati con prodotti di altissima qualità. Ogni visita è un’esperienza che ci lascia soddisfatti e con la voglia di tornare. Per noi è il luogo ideale per gustare i veri sapori di Lampedusa, immersi in un’atmosfera accogliente e familiare. Non possiamo che consigliarlo a chiunque visiti l’isola! Un capitolo a parte lo meritano le loro tartare di pesce fresco, che sono semplicemente straordinarie. Ogni boccone è un’esplosione di sapori autentici, che esaltano al massimo la qualità del pescato locale. Si percepisce chiaramente l’attenzione e la cura nella scelta degli ingredienti, sempre freschissimi e di prima qualità. Le tartare sono presentate con eleganza e accompagnate da abbinamenti che le rendono ancora più speciali. Per noi, è impossibile resistere: ogni volta che torniamo al Balenottero, sono il nostro primo pensiero. Una vera delizia per il palato, da provare assolutamente!

03/04/2025: Tischi Toschi is a true gem in Taormina. My husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner in a cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of a local reliquia. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The dishes were outstanding, especially the fennel balls and the homemade pasta con sardina, which were delicious. In summary, it's a lovely spot that combines local charm, excellent service, and exquisite food. We can’t wait to return!
