30/08/2024: We had a relaxing dinner with friends last night, a total of 8 people, we paid 120 euros for 4 very small starters (120 euros) which my partner and I personally didn't even taste and the very small quantity... the first one, I have to be honest, was good ! So good that tonight we all had intestinal problems... NEVER AGAIN totally negative experience on all fronts

22/11/2024: Zavučeno mjesto, sa lokalnom muzikom i Sicilijanskim šarmom. Hrana i više nego ukusna, sa mnogo začina koji zaokružuju cjelokupnu cjelinu u ovom restoranu.

16/11/2024: Tasty seafood, shrimps, squid, mussels. Very good tuna steak. My daughter ordered gnocchi with shrimps and also ate the entire plate. Plus good house wine. The dishes were served so quickly that we were surprised. This is a good place for seafood.

02/12/2024: The restorant is in the center of Taormina, the food is ok . The prices like in all Taormina very expensive

30/11/2024: I ordered the grilled fish for lunch: the fish had not been scaled and therefore I was getting scales in my mouth with the meat - yuk, never had that before. The restaurant was not full and service was just OK.

08/10/2024: The hedgehog pasta with white shrimp that my partner had for dinner last night caused him to vomit, abdominal pain and diarrhea (he spent 3 hellish hours tonight on the verge of going to the emergency room, we assume it was “soft shrimp” or the hedgehog. The dish cost €30, we're sorry but that has been our experience!

25/10/2024: We brought our 2 tour groups to this restaurant for lunch twice. The food was excellent and prepared with care using fresh local ingredients. Our groups were large, (1 was 14 people, the other, 12) and so required a fixed menu but even so nobody was disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant.

24/11/2024: I recommend caponata, which is more in line with Asian tastes. The rest is average, not outstanding but not wrong either. If you want to try it, you can give it a try.

22/11/2024: AMAZING....the environment is beautiful but what leaves you speechless is the food, good I would say excellent, not cheap, but on holiday treating yourself well is almost a must not to mention the service, if you are nearby my advice is to choose this restaurant

13/11/2024: FABULOUS! We went for a dinner with 5 work colleagues, very nice restaurant and well looked after internally. Delicious dishes, top quality raw materials used, the workmanship behind it, very elaborate. Starters, first and second courses, all excellent, I highly recommend the octopus as a starter and the tonnarelli with octopus, saffron and almonds, amazing! Good value for money, I really recommend it!

27/11/2024: 5/5 in everything!! the starter with the fish was so simple and yet so tastefull ( could have been at a lower price comparing in quantity). We tried the pasta alle vongole, the one with the mussels but the star-plate was the shrimp pistacchio spaghetti. I cound never imagine shrimp with pistacchio (maybe sicilian cuisine combines lost of dishes with different nuts) it was truly a 5/5 exprerience, a quiet place in a back alley, very romantic! the wine list is great, but also the staff was very kind, helpfull, and elegant with their moves! comparing to other places this city has to offer, which are ver disappointing, this one stands out and deserves the 4.5 on google reviews. mind you it is not a 10 euro per person, but it is an elegant restaurant with great menu and service. well done!!

18/11/2024: Went here for dinner due to the good reviews but were very disappointed with the food. We ordered "fantasia di mare" as an appetizer and as mains the "carbonara di mare e bottarga" and "zuppa dello chef". The service was friendly and the food was served quickly. The quality of the appetizer was good, but the carbonara was way oversalted, and the soup with the catch of the day seemed very simple flavor-wise (tomato soup with broken pasta). As foreigners with almost no Italian knowledge there was a language barrier with the waiter speaking also almost no English and we didn't know that they only served wine or water as drinks. Complimentary bread was nice though. Our visit was only okay and we would not return again, sadly.

29/08/2024: Don't let the name fool you and immediately forget the good Peppone of Guareschi's memory. The (Don) Camillo in question is Camillo Guarneri, great chef and founder. together with his son Giovanni who inherited his father's skills and expert touch in the kitchen and is currently the "soul" of the kitchens aided by a talented team. In the historic center of Syracuse, specifically in Ortigia, the enchanting and enchanted island colonized by the Greeks in 733 BC, on the beautiful Via della Maestranza site, full of baroque magnificence, the historic venue, in business since 1985, is housed on the ground floor of an ancient stately building; the interior is simply enchanting, for those who love classic furnishings, in a space that makes the most of it, putting the magnificent original vaulted structures in "naked" view made with local stone, Syracuse stone, the color of honey ; the furnishings are in harmony, sober and elegant, with fine furniture, exposed wine shelves, lighting fixtures and paintings in harmony with the room. The elegant tables are comfortable and well spaced, the background music is pleasant and at the correct volume, the toilets are impeccable. The welcome is the best (it may happen that Giovanni himself welcomes you), a very polite and elegant lady does the honours, the head nurse and the collaborators, elegantly dressed, are courteous and immediately put you at ease: professionalism is guaranteed . The beautiful menu, printed on fine paper (on the cover, a portrait of Camillo by Salvatore Fiume), offers some very interesting tasting itineraries and, obviously, the classic "à la carte menu". The proposals are not very many, and this speaks in favor of the restaurant, and are divided into a select choice of dishes based on sea and land, made with selected raw materials and brought in from the surrounding area which, in various respects, offers a lot . The dishes are well plated in quality services, the bread, of different qualities, is prepared in the restaurant kitchens; unmissable, in the opinion of the writer, are the Spaghetti delle Sirene with sea urchins and prawns: a masterpiece, conceived way back in 1989 and always proposed again (season permitting), whose smell alone reconciles with the world and with the smells and flavors of the generous sea Syracusan. This is just a suggestion: I invite readers to discover the other dishes, from appetizers to desserts. The selection of wines, including international ones, is vast and very satisfying, for every taste and for connoisseurs: the "by the glass" proposals are good, well balanced in the choice. What to say in conclusion? Surely Don Camillo is a safe "landing place" in Syracuse, and an absolute certainty of quality and a satisfying culinary experience: the price is absolutely reasonable for everything the beautiful place offers that, when I am passing through Syracuse (a city that I also love because it was my birthplace), I don't hesitate to visit.

It's a shame.... we went twice in a few days trying different dishes and nothing was extraordinary... absolutely not to be missed is the spaghetti delle siren, a rightly iconic dish.... excellent wine list with the right quality/price ratio, compliments to the owners and all the staff

30/08/2024: We had a delicious meal at trattoria da Luigi. The host was very friendly and helpful. He gave us good recommendations. The ravioli was the best pasta I had during our trip to Sicily.
