On my first day in Palermo, I stopped here by chance, captivated by the modest sign: Ristorantino da Spanó. The food, the warm and immediate welcome, and the quality of the seafood were not modest, however. I had Mazara shrimp and grilled sea bass that I think I'll remember for the rest of my life. The restaurant is family-run, and you can sense the passion that translates into an immediate and spontaneous warmth. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic flavors and meticulous, attentive cuisine. The prices (in my opinion) are in line with the quality of the welcome and the ingredients. If you love seafood and a relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trail, come here.

Dinner was a bit subdued. Peperonata was good. But the grilled fish was fresh, the sea bass was good, but the red mullet wasn't the best. The bill was a bit too salty, because the fish wasn't even a kilo, so it wasn't €60/kg, but much less. I had purposely asked for something less so as not to spend €60, and I was hoping for a bit less on the bill. From the square, there's a beautiful view of the cathedral.

We celebrated New Year's Eve in Palermo and stayed nearby. We ate dinner here three times, away from the main crowds. The food was delicious, and we always received a warm welcome. Even late on New Year's Day, as the last guests were leaving, we were treated to a wonderful fish platter and seafood.

A welcoming, family-run restaurant with excellent service and excellent food. The only downside is that it's not well signposted. I highly recommend it.

it is a nice, small and cozy restaurant, close to the city centre but in a quiet local neighbourhood. We ordered a lunch menu (meat and fish version), the food was delicious for a very reasonable price. The staff is super friendly with basic level of English but good enough to have a simple conversation. We would definitely recommend this place.
