Super friendly and authentic with delicious food.

We ended up coming here twice across the weekend as the food was just too good. The aubergine parmigiana was the best we’ve ever had. Everything was amazing! Can’t recommend enough!

Hands down best meal we had in Sicily, so much so that we had to revisit it on our final night. This restaurant has to be on your list if you’re visiting Palermo - INCREDIBLE food, amazing views of the cathedral and the most welcoming service we’ve ever had. Angela and the chef absolutely made this experience - what amazing people. Don’t be deterred by it being tucked away in a less touristy and quieter area of the city - the food is absolutely sensational. Be sure to order the Caponata with the fish or the Melanzana, the tomato sauce is delicious!

For three appetizers (two seafood dishes, plus pannelle and crocche) plus a seafood platter with sea bass, calamari, and tuna, a plate of spaghetti alla norma, a bottle of local white wine, and several bottles of water, we spent €55 per person. Again, it was good, but the price seemed steep to me. In a little-known alleyway in Palermo lies one of the stars of the Sicilian culinary landscape. Far from the street food concept, Da Spanò offers a unique experience; from the freshest and most expertly prepared ingredients, the result is a blend of flavors beyond your wildest dreams. Highly recommended, excellent value, and friendly service guaranteed. We'll definitely be back.

There's a truly unique magic about this restaurant, and what I loved most was how you fall in love with it. The dishes are indescribably delicious, the view of the cathedral, Angela's smile and kindness, and the warmth you feel when being pampered make for an evening where you appreciate every dish and every pause between courses. In short, as we left, we said goodbye like old acquaintances, especially since we came two nights in a row, and it's definitely a wonderful memory my partner and I will take home from Palermo.

On my first day in Palermo, I stopped here by chance, captivated by the modest sign: Ristorantino da Spanó. The food, the warm and immediate welcome, and the quality of the seafood were not modest, however. I had Mazara shrimp and grilled sea bass that I think I'll remember for the rest of my life. The restaurant is family-run, and you can sense the passion that translates into an immediate and spontaneous warmth. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic flavors and meticulous, attentive cuisine. The prices (in my opinion) are in line with the quality of the welcome and the ingredients. If you love seafood and a relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trail, come here.

Dinner was a bit subdued. Peperonata was good. But the grilled fish was fresh, the sea bass was good, but the red mullet wasn't the best. The bill was a bit too salty, because the fish wasn't even a kilo, so it wasn't €60/kg, but much less. I had purposely asked for something less so as not to spend €60, and I was hoping for a bit less on the bill. From the square, there's a beautiful view of the cathedral.

The food was delicious! We recommend it
