We had the tasting menu, and I feel somewhat conflicted about our experience here. On the one hand, you absolutely get a ton of value for your money here. My first course with a big variety of raw fish and seafood as well as the variety of deseserts were an absolute delight, and I also very much appreciate that they provide a vegetarian version of their tasting menu. On the other hand we felt a bit lost during the course of our lunch. After two rounds of multiple dishes each, we were already completely stuffed, and hadn't even finished everything. We figured, well probably just the desert to go, but then the server told us we are just getting started. Thus, we unfortunately were unable to really enjoy the main pasta dish. Had we known how much was still coming, we probably would have eaten less of the previous dishes. Now you might blame that on our small stomachs, but I have eaten many tasting menus in my life, and this is not a common issue. You might also question how you can complain about too much food, but properly designed portion sizes are in my opinion part of a good experience. It wasn't an issue to us, but I should also mention that their vegetarian tasting menu had multiple dishes containing cheese usually made with rennet (e.g. caciocavallo), which is in fact not vegetarian.

Spent the final evening of our honeymoon at Buatta and don’t think we could have made a better decision! We did the chefs tasting menu, featuring Traditional foods of Sicily, but elevated and thoughtfully curated. Pair that with the wine tasting and incredible service from our server, Alex, and your in for a special Evening. Can’t recommend this place enough, will surely be coming back next time!

Me and my wife had a great time in Buatta Cucina Popolana in Palermo. We had the tasting menu and the food was perfect, as was the wine suggested by the waitress. The ambience was a little bit noisy but nothing that bothered us. The service was very kind, and attentive. Each course was pantiently explained. We highly recommend it and will surely be back when we return to the city.
