I wouldn’t say this restaurant is a bad place to eat, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it either. The view looks nice, provided you’re lucky enough not to be seated in a corner; the food is quite good, but the quality of the meal isn’t worth having such a small portion; it’s advertised as a pizza place, but that’s only available at lunchtime; and, finally, the staff aren’t unpleasant, but they’re far from warm. In my opinion, there are better options in Castelmola.

The location is beautiful. Castelmola is a beautiful town with views of the entire coast (beautiful) and Mount Etna (the view of Mount Etna isn't great, as it's quite far away and obscured by the volcano's smoke).
The tavern itself is quite interesting, with a medium-sized space and a somewhat small terrace (reservations are recommended). The service is good (they spoke English).
The food is a bit hit and miss. The steak and shrimp tempura were very good, but the mixed fish and seafood were a disappointment (the shrimp were breaded and in their shell, and the fish had single scales).
Parking is available at the entrance to Castelmola, right before the ZTL (city rail) and a few hundred meters uphill to walk.

The service and the atmosphere are spectacular BUT I came for the food and I was really let down. Maybe I should have told them I am an American chef that specializes in Italian food. My dish was pasta and lobster for $30. I received half a lobster tail which I'm positive had about 2-3oz worth of meat. The pasta needed to be cooked about 2 minutes longer. Being that I'm in a country known for pasta, I expect it to be cooked perfectly every time. Based off my 1st time eating here, I can't say I would return.

Absolutely the best pasta I've ever eaten! I savored every bite! The pizza was also very good. The prices were reasonable and comparable to other places, but the view was worth every penny.

I’ve been in Europe now for about 6 weeks and at this point in time this is the best meal I have had and that compares to Michelin star restaurants that I have dined at.
We had the cod croquettes as a starter which were delicious, followed by a lobster pasta and bolognese as mains. This was paired with a perfect local red wine suggested by one of the staff.
This is a must try.

Terrace with exceptional views. Calm, warm, and family-friendly atmosphere. Good food at a good price in a picturesque little village just above Taormina. Very friendly service and helpful advice.
A little tip for tourists: eat here and then have an ice cream while strolling around Taormina.
