01/04/2025: Ristorante al centro città, ma all'interno un ambiente accogliente . Ottima cena, il proprietario e il personale sempre molto cortesi, buona la carta dei vini, ottimo il cibo. Consigliatissimo.

I can't express the same opinion about the first courses. Some ingredients, such as pistachio in one and basil pesto in the other, completely overwhelm the other ingredients, ruining the culinary achievement. The desserts are good. The wine list features many commercial labels that are easy to find in local supermarkets. In my opinion, this devalues ​​the experience itself.

10/03/2025: We had planned to eat at a different restaurant, but it was closed. We found La Cantina and it was such a beautiful place with beautiful food that we were glad the other place was closed. The host was very friendly and prompt. There was a large selection of wines and my favorite, they had a small special menu only for things with mushrooms. I'm in love! We had a beautiful lunch on a gloomy and rainy Sunday. We will come back! Absolutely worth it! Thank you to the staff and chef!

13/01/2025: A limite dell’indecenza. In data 13/01/2025, con mia moglie, abbiamo pranzato nel peggior posto provato fino ad oggi. Abbiamo ordinato 2 antipasti che prevedevano: olive nere, caponata, una polpettina di patate, radicchio in agrodolce, parmigiana, una piccola fetta di cipolla gratinata, tutto cucinato grossolanamente e privo di gusto, un mensione particolare va al radicchio che di agrodolce aveva ben poco, si sentiva solo l’amaro fisiologico della verdura. Ad accompagnare gli antipasti c’è stato servito un cestino di pane riscaldato al microonde, molliccio e insapore. A seguire mi è stato portato un piatto di ravioli ripieni alla ricotta e conditi con del sugo di carne di maiale esageratamente annacquato, mentre mia moglie ha optato per una fettina di vitello alla griglia taglio trinca: il piatto più osceno di un pranzo che di per se fa cena pena, la fettina avrà pesato 80 grammi in totale, una vergogna mai vissuta prima. Da bere una sola bottiglia di acqua frizzante. Il servizio non è stato meraviglioso, ma non è questo che ha rovinato il pranzo. Il conto: 58€ che per quello che abbiamo mangiato è un’esagerazione (la fettina di vitello l’abbiamo pagata 12€). Non ci torneremo mai più.

31/12/2024: We went to this restaurant for lunch on December 31st with the expectation of eating fish after reading that it was the restaurant where Montalbano had lunch and attracted by the fish dishes seen on their website. Unfortunately nothing was as we expected. No fish dishes on the menu, it seems it's just a summer option. We took the arancini but they were completely tasteless (I am from Palermo and I know well what arancini should taste) and cold inside. The standard pasta with tomato sauce straight from the bottle, without any flavour, the completely raw fried aubergines, an unfortunately inedible dish. A pasta with courgettes and bacon that floated in a green liquid that should have been a cream, with a terrible taste. The roasted tomato pasta was passable, but that too was immersed in a liquid sauce. In short, at the end of the meal we were hungry and nervous. The lady understood this although she tried to find unlikely explanations and took two dishes off our bill but we still paid 22 euros each and on top of that the shame of having brought some of my friends from Mantua to spend this money to eat so badly. Perhaps the preparation of the dinner distracted the cook from that of the lunch, frankly a terrible experience.

10/03/2025: What a wonderful evening! This was a recommendation from our hotel… and turned out to be one of our favorite dinners yet in Italy! We received a warm welcome from the owner at the door and were promptly seated. We shared a salad to start the meal-chopped lettuce, cherry tomatoes, dried tomatoes, wonderful Kalamata olives, and coarsely grated cheese with olive oil and balsamic vinegar-fresh, simple, and delicious! I had ravioli with shrimp and pistachio sauce and my husband had spaghetti with clams (that he had been craving since our arrival in Italy). Both dishes were perfection! We were too full for dessert but could not leave without a cannoli that we had seen pass through the restaurant to another table, so got one to go. And got a glass of limoncello to end the evening. (The owner kept our glasses filled,) We have only 2 nights in Siracuse and will probably be back here again tomorrow night for another memorable dinner!

25/02/2025: Siamo andati in questo ristorante per festeggiare il mio compleanno attratti dalle ottime recensioni ma è stato tutto deludente: ordinazioni sbagliate, pasta scotta, pesce non fresco e conto alto rispetto alla qualità dei prodotti. Non ritorneremo.

The service was impeccable, the only flaw was the crazy noise. We were upstairs where the windows are and it was difficult to have a conversation and in the lower part I think it was worse. 23/03/2025: Esta es una joya escondida. Un poco caro en mi opinión. La bienvenida fue cálida y amable. El restaurante estaba vacío (entre semana por la noche cuando visitamos) . Nos sentamos y nos ofrecieron el agua y el pan habituales. El lugar está limpio e iluminado con relajante sensación de "noche de citas". Cuando nos dieron el menú, nos mostraron los productos frescos que tienen del mar. Optamos por un tipo de sushi a partir de pescado y gambas rojas crudas (la primera vez que tuve este) , que estaba delicioso. El equilibrio adecuado de sal y frescura de ralladura y hierba que se complementa. Nuestros platos principales estaban muy simplemente cocinados - a la parrilla (pescado San Pietro - si no recuerdo mal) y servido con patatas fritas caseras. Solo un zumo de limón y pimienta molida, era celestial. Lo maridamos con el vino blanco de uva ‘Etna’. No podía comentar sobre el inodoro, ya que no usé esto durante mi visita. En general, los platos eran preciosos y el servicio era encantador. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar.

14/03/2025: Consiglio di rimanere a pian terreno, mangiare al piano superiore significa essere immersi nel rumore totale,dovevamo parlare a voce altissima fra noi per riuscire a capirci.Il cibo è ottimo,peccato che due di noi hanno mangiato il secondo quasi 30 min dopo gli altri.Servizio abbastanza caotico.

09/03/2025: Prenotato ore12, 30,in 8 Ps ordinati antipasti, primi e secondi tutti insieme, alle 13, 00 avevamo finito di mangiare gli antipasti, alle 14,45 ci sono stati portati i primi dopo 2 solleciti e anziché scusarsi il proprietario ci ha incolpato perché avevamo piatti da dividere le porzioni! Era una festa di compleanno, in sale c'erano tre festeggiati a tavoli diversi hanno sbagliato le torte, le cameriere giravano tra i tavoli con i piatti pronti a chiedere di chi era xche non sapevano a chi consegnare. Il cibo di scarsa qualità, primo piatto con aglio bruciato, secondo un fritto di paranza unto da morire e cotto con olio stravecchio di frittura, un arancino riscaldato dopo essere stato fritto in olio vecchio e comunque all'interno freddo... Immangiabile!!!

21/10/2024: Second stay at Hotel Nettuno and the first after the renovation. The renovation freshens up the look of the hotel while fitting the overall calm flair of the hotel. Some places (like the basement toilets or the garage) were left out and now don't fit into the more modern and clean style. Sadly the renovation also did not include the hotels/rooms heating, ventilation and air conditioning, which lead to (subjectively) uncomfortably high temperatures in the corridors and rooms, due to the fact that the AC was already switched to "winter mode" despite warmer temperatures, so it could only heat the room further but not cool it down. The only way to cool down my room was opening a window, which helped only a bit and was nearly constantly open over my stay. Room temperatures still were between 21°C and 24°C, which was way too warm for me (as already mentioned on check out). The new color scheme make the rooms brighter, which is an improvement compared to last year. All was clean and functioning, though the bathroom of my room (211) seemingly did not receive the same care during the renovation as the rest of the room (forgot to mention on check out). Noise sensible persons should pack some earplugs for slamming room doors, due to the automatic door closers (mentioned on check out as well) or not as soundproof walls as can be expected in newer hotels. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant improved compared to last year and was very good! Breakfast buffet is also very good, but a vegan milk option (e.g. oat milk) is missing (though I did not ask for it to be honest). The location of the hotel is perfect for those who like to visit Bardolino (10-20min to the center, depending on ability) or walk on the promenade of Lake Garda. Bike storage is possible in the garage, though there is no separate secured room to put them in.

09/01/2025: We had lunch on New Year's Day and usually on these holidays you never eat well but Case Perrotta is the exception that confirms the rule! Everything but everything delicious! And impeccable service! Highly recommended!!!
