12/07/2025: We stumbled upon this little shop by chance and were blown away by the food selection! Typical Palermitan delicacies, such as bread and panelle, freshly fried arancini, and superb Sicilian cannoli. The guy behind the counter was incredibly friendly. We'll definitely be back.

One flaw: for ready-made meals, a 15% service charge at the end of the bill in Catania is way too much, especially considering you're already paying for the cover charge. If I'd looked at the receipt first, I definitely would have done or said something.

30/08/2025: We were looking for a homey restaurant and found just what we were looking for. Everything was delicious, from the appetizers to the main courses, and the service was excellent. (The lady was very kind and friendly.) I recommend it!

05/10/2025: We had the chef's tasting menu. I certainly expected more refinement from a Michelin-recommended restaurant (Bib Gourmand). The service was rushed and not very personal (probably because no one spoke good English). The lighting in the restaurant was very bright, which made the atmosphere rather lacking. Palermo has many restaurants where you can dine well, and even better, for less money! For us, it was a disappointing experience.

04/10/2025: Given the good reviews, we thought we were on the safe side, but instead, the dishes were cold/reheated and the service was sloppy (we had to ask for bread after our food was served, and the attitude was quite apathetic). The only positive note was the young man who served us the wine.

01/08/2025: Non eravamo mai stati a Portopalo e dopo una visita al centro città ci siamo spostati in zona porto. Per puro caso ci siamo fermati in questo ristorante. Sono stati gentilissimi a farci accomodare nonostante non avessimo prenotato in quanto la sala era piena e molti non hanno avuto la nostra stessa fortuna. Abbiamo mangiato del pesce freschissimo cucinato e marinato sapientemente. Abbiamo dovuto chiedere dei contenitori per portare a casa quel ben di Dio che non siamo riusciti a mangiare. Abbiamo preso un Piatto Mare per 2 persone veramente abbondante. Ottima anche la pasta fresca ripiena, una grande differenza rispetto al classico raviolo pronto congelato per non parlare del fritto misto che ha preso mio figlio. Alla fine è rimasto spazietto per un ottimo sorbetto al limone. Lo consiglio vivamente e consiglio di prenotare.

28/09/2025: Terrible The gourmet cavaddari 😂🤦🏻‍♂️ you don't even know what the word gourmet means. As soon as we got to the restaurant, we could already hear the waiters complaining that they were short-staffed, and after that, they came to take our order after more than 45 minutes. We asked what the house appetizer included, and were told (I think by the head waiter) in these exact words: raw and cooked fish, a mix. Well, maybe she doesn't even know the product. Meanwhile, I tried to order a wine, chosen from their menu obviously, but the first course wasn't available, the second course was sold out, and the third course was due to arrive, so I asked, "Bring me what you have." He brought it, ignoring the fact that the waiter didn't even try to get me to taste it first; he started pouring it directly into the glasses, even throwing it on the table. The first courses begin to arrive, placed directly on the table without any mention of what she's brought, much less what's inside (if they're calling themselves gourmet, they should explain the dish, or at least what's inside). We go to try them, and my son notices that one of the dishes contains pineapple, which I'm allergic to. I call the manager to explain my problem, but instead of apologizing or trying to remake my plate, she insults me, saying I should have explained my problem first. A small disagreement ensues between us. Anyway, they continue eating, bringing out a small fried dish, which, pardon the expression and the gentleman's grace, not even the dogs wanted; it was soggy, greasy, oily, and disgusting. Okay, we told them we didn't want the starters, but it was too late. The first ones arrived overcooked and loose, and my son's risotto was salty, loose, and soupy. Bottom line: we left everything; in fact, I had them fixed for me so I could bring them along, so at least the dog could eat dinner too. No discount at the register, obviously not even one we asked for. The only truly good things were three: water, Coke, and wine. Nothing else. Zero food, zero hospitality, zero everything. Not only will I never return, but since I run a business that involves a lot of people, I won't recommend it to anyone, not just because of the poor, low-quality food, but because of how you handled the situation. All I had to do was say, 'I'm sorry,' and have them remake it right away, and everything would have been fine. I wouldn't have returned anyway, because people don't like your cooking, but at least I wouldn't have given you bad publicity.

06/07/2025: Heerlijk gegeten in dit charmante restaurant. Het menu bestaat vooral uit mediterrane creatieve visvariaties. Informele sfeer uiterst vriendelijke bediening. Bezoek was zeer de moeite waard.

17/09/2025: Excellent dining experience. We found this restaurant by chance while walking back from the Botanical Gardens. So pleased we went in. The food and service were excellent. Quality of the food was outstanding. Best food we have had in Palermo. Beautiful setting as well. I would highly recommend.

02/09/2025: Located behind Piazza Marina, off the beaten path, this family-run restaurant was a real surprise! The interior is meticulously designed, the staff is friendly and very professional, and, above all, the food is delicious! From the outside, it seems more pretentious than it actually is: prices are in line with the city, and only if you choose a special wine or the off-menu catch of the day can they rise! The tartare of raw shrimp with bottarga is delicious! The first courses are delicious! The only flaw is the limited dessert selection (usually cannoli and tiramisu).

23/07/2025: Cibo di ottima qualità, personale gentile e ambiente accogliente e raffinato. Abbiamo consumato un primo e un secondo cadauno, tempi di attesa ragionevoli, pulizia, cortesia e qualità.

30/06/2025: In zona centrale, entriamo per puro caso, ambiente accogliente, accolti un sorriso, prendiamo due pizze (dai nomi legati alla tradizione letterale sicula). Che dire: fantastiche. Ottima farcitura, impasto soffice e leggero (sinonimo di una adeguata lievitazione), leggera alveatura, cornice elastica e pronta al ritorno. Veramente buone, complimenti. Servizio rapido, prezzi nella norma. Bellissima esperienza.

13/05/2025: Siamo tornati dopo qualche anno in questo ristorantino nel centro storico di Taormina (fra il corso principale e il duomo) e tutto ha confermato l’ottima impressione avuta in precedenza. Abbiamo mangiato dei ravioli con ricotta e crema di pistacchi e degli gnocchi con pesto e gamberoni. Poi abbiamo diviso del calamaro gratinato con panatura e verdure. Tutto ottimo. Il locale è dotato di un delizioso giardinetto e di un balconcino più riparato con due tavoli. Prezzo assolutamente nella norma. La gestione è a carattere familiare con personale gentile e cordiale. Torneremo senz’altro.

07/04/2025: Lugar tranquilo justo detrás del duomo bajando unos escalones. Recomendado por el hotel. Acogedor lugar familiar, comida siciliana. Albóndigas y carne muy buena. Ravioli estaba bien. Los bandos eran generosos.

10/09/2025: Very good Sicilian gelato. The first courses are also excellent, and as someone who knows Sicilian cuisine, I can assure you it's one of the best outside of Sicily. Be careful though: at certain times of the day, there's a line for gelato... be patient, because it's worth it!
