11/08/2025: The place is pretty but we were disappointed both by the food, which was rather ordinary (you ask for vegetables and you are served a bowl of whole raw carrots, just peeled, and celery!) and by the service, which was cold and casual. Surprising given the comments in the guides...

24/07/2025: We had a great time at this restaurant. The food is delicious and typical of Sardinia, the service is very friendly, and since we didn't know our Italian yet, they spoke French and English to us!

23/07/2025: Celebrated my daughter's birthday. Beautiful location on the Ottiolu marina, good food, and very friendly and welcoming staff. Prices are reasonable. Recommended.

23/08/2025: Positive experience. We had to wait a bit because we hadn't booked; the wait was more than made up for by the speed of the service. We didn't eat much (baked potatoes, roasted vegetables, and suckling pig), but everything was very good. It's a shame about the myrtle, which in such a small, local place should have been homemade and not bottled at the supermarket (that's fine with other liqueurs or bitters, but not with myrtle, come on). Another small flaw: while we were waiting in line to get in, a couple of locals who knew the owner arrived; after a few words, they were immediately ushered inside by the gentleman who was in charge of managing the "reservations" of those arriving and getting in line. Of course, I understand the extra consideration for locals, but I still found it unprofessional to make us wait and let new arrivals pass us by, just because they were from Alghero. Overall, a good dinner, but it could have been better. The 4 stars (and not 3) are because the staff is very attentive and kind, and that deserves recognition.

10/07/2025: Cena eccellente! È stato molto piacevole scoprire che la qualità delle pietanze che abbiamo gustato è immutata. Il menù fisso non punisce l’eccellenza dei piatti. Antipasto vario con verdure, salumi e formaggi. Michele, che produce le eccellenze che porta in tavola, è sempre prodigo nel descrivere ciò che abbiamo gustato. Notevoli i primi e strepitosi gli arrosti: agnello e porcellino. Ottimi anche i dolci. Non vediamo l’ora di tornarci!

25/07/2025: A typical restaurant serving traditional Sardinian food. Reservations are recommended. Parking is limited. The owner is a unique but friendly character. A good selection of cheeses. Wine is available only by the glass, either Cannonau (very good) or Vermentino. The myrtle liqueur is a must-try; it's special. Good price. I recommend it.

24/07/2025: More than a restaurant it seems like a trattoria from another time. Typical Sardinian cuisine with generous portions. The very friendly owner makes you feel at home. The prices are, let's say, fair. I'm a tourist and I recommend it, if I were from the area I would return.

18/07/2025: We stayed at Casa Saltara and immediately felt at home, even our little poodle. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also tried Casa Saltara's restaurant and were very pleased with the quality of the food and the excellent service.

15/07/2025: Poor appetizer. The food wasn't bad, but the suckling pig was sent back...dry with black rind. Reheated and also poorly. (€35 per portion) The service seemed good, but then when you got the bill you discovered that all that attention wasn't there. Too expensive for what they offer. P.S. There's a menu from 4 years ago on Google. 👀

17/08/2025: Passing through Nuoro, I discovered this very characteristic restaurant in the historic center, tastefully furnished, almost by chance. You'll be greeted with great kindness and can savor many dishes, including the long-cooked suckling pig. Everything is delicious. I highly recommend this place.

14/08/2025: We were very pleased! We were served a multi-course menu, typical of the region – all freshly prepared, using ingredients directly from the farm or from the surrounding area. Each course was lovingly presented and tasted excellent. The homemade pasta, the tender meat dish, and the fantastic dessert deserve special mention. The accompanying regional wine was also first-class. I would also like to mention everything that was served. A big thank you to the team for this unforgettable evening! We would love to come back.

04/08/2025: First of all, stop reading this review and start booking - it's the best restaurant we tried on a trip to the north of Sardegna. It was so good we went twice. Starting with the service - impeccable, from the recommendations to the handling of the wasps situation. Always polite and extremely knowledgeable. The food was abundant and full of flavour, both meat and fish dishes. We came here twice, and I would have gladly gone a third time had we had more time. The porccedu melts in your mouth and the homemade seafood pasta (i think it's called Pardu alla Madalena) had an intense seafood flavour! The access to the restaurant seems a bit out of the way if you're based in Palau, but honestly this place is one i would happily go back to again and again.

03/08/2025: We came here by chance, having stumbled across them along the way. We were actually intrigued to see the roadside advertising in various places. The place is very pretty. We ate very well. Everything was spectacular.

Il posto è semplicemente favoloso: immerso nel verde e nella tranquillità più assoluta, un’atmosfera suggestiva, curata nei dettagli e lontano dai rumori del paese. Ideale per chi cerca una serata rilassante e fuori dal caos. Il personale davvero gentile e disponibile. Ottimi gli antipasti e sopratutto la carne! Un luogo che merita davvero di essere scoperto e vissuto. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

27/07/2025: We came to this wonderful corner of paradise on the recommendation of a dear friend, and no advice could have been more accurate! Piccolo Ranch is expertly managed by the excellent Cristian, always present, professional, and discreet. The same goes for the entire staff—Erika, Manuel, and Nicola—who are excellent in organizing the restaurant and eager to please guests with their presentation of traditional Sardinian dishes. All this creates a family-friendly atmosphere, transforming a simple stay of a few days into a wonderful adventure to be repeated as soon as possible! Highly recommended!
