Trattoria Lillicu In Cagliari

I’m giving 5 stars because this please is everything I wanted it to be! super local, easy going, great food! The only disappointing thing is, I made another reservation for Sunday! But when we arrived they were closed, it seems the reservation was changed, but I received no notice of this, I’m not sure if this is Google’s booking system or the restaurant themselves, but maybe they should fix this problem for others in the future. None the less! This is a must visit.

This was our first dinner in Cagliari and it made a great impression of the city. Fresh seafood, family style/feel restaurant where it’s all about the food! Pasta and fish were excellent! Friendly waiter and very helpful staff in general. Everyone was super happy and it made for a wonderful experience!

I visited this restaurant today, on Liberation Day, which has become a true institution. The atmosphere is simple and authentic, with fast and friendly service, no frills, just as you'd expect from a trattoria of this type. The staff's exceptional courtesy, kindness, and professionalism are particularly noteworthy. The real strength is the cuisine: the freshest fish, prepared with expertise and respect for tradition. Among the dishes we tried, the seafood classics were excellent, such as spaghetti with clams or bottarga, fried whitebait, and the freshest mussels cooked in a simple way. For the main course, the delicious fried calamari, with a truly superb golden crust. Finally, the classic seadas, the typical dessert, served hot and scented with orange, is the perfect way to end the meal. I recommend booking in advance, and if possible, by phone, as the Maps app often shows available seating only outside the restaurant. In any case, the experience is definitely worth the wait. PS: The mussel dish was intentionally photographed empty, because it was irresistible 🤣🤣🤣, but I assure you they were all full.

Excellent traditional Sardinian cuisine...the fish-based appetizers are unique, tasty, and plentiful...the pasta is plentiful...

Fantastic place, only Italians besides us. The staff were incredibly sweet and the food was absolutely divine! We'll definitely be back!

Not everyone can offer a high level of food and service at a large table, in a place from another era.

We ate very well, the staff were very friendly.

A very good place to eat in Cagliari, but go early as it gets very crowded. The mussels were very good, although a little lukewarm. The sea bass was a good size and you could tell it was fresh fish. The spaghetti with clams was delicious, although the clams were a bit bland. The only downside was the limited selection of desserts, and both contained cheese, which is a problem if you don't like it. The space between tables outside is very tight; the waiter could barely get through. Even so, I think it's a good choice for a bite to eat near the city center and the port.
