06/12/2025: I've been a Google Guide for many years and have posted numerous reviews on Google Maps. My wife and I live in a town near this restaurant (Sant'Antioco), but we'd never eaten there before. Today, while driving around, we decided to stop for lunch. And we were very pleased: the food was absolutely delicious, as was the house wine in a 50cl carafe. The service was good, and the restaurant and bathrooms were spotless. Yes, yes, yes... a real discovery, especially considering the restaurant is part of a hotel. Congratulations!

29/11/2025: A disappointment. I remembered lunches from a few years ago where you'd leave feeling truly satisfied. The portions were small and the entrees were definitely not excellent. There was only one waitress, which meant the service was a bit spotty, and the dessert was awful. I wouldn't recommend it.
23/11/2025: I fully agree with your reputation. Everything is truly fantastic. From the service, the very friendly waiter, to the fresh and excellently cooked food. The price is fair. Go there. You have to go at least once and try it! 💯

The food is good, offering traditional Sardinian dishes with a modern twist.
A special mention for the culurgiones, which are truly delicious.
07/10/2025: I only went here for dinner, so my review is based solely on the restaurant. The location is very pretty and charming, but the prices are truly excessive and don't reflect the quality/price ratio. We had a €26 UNSAUCE tartare, which was practically a bite—nothing special, considering the accompanying sauces were tasteless. Then we had the porceddu: this dish is also quite expensive, €35/person, but at least excellent.
The service leaves a lot to be desired. From the waiter who immediately asked us "How are you?" and didn't respect formality, to the overly stern one who, when asked "How's the tartare seasoned?", replied annoyed, "Oh, just like the usual tartare seasoning." Furthermore, the service was too formal for the setting.
The desserts were completely overpriced; €12 each is insane.
Luckily, the porceddu, the reason we came, was excellent.

29/11/2025: Absolutely unacceptable. I'm from Sassari, wanting to have dinner with my partner. I called on November 20, 2025, at 7:58 PM. I'm not sure who the person who answered the call was...but if they answered, it was obviously either the owner or a waitress. I made a reservation for dinner on Saturday, the 29th, 2025, saying we're from Sassari and that 8 PM was fine. The owner or waitress took the reservation...confirming it for the 29th, AD 2025, at 8:00 PM. We've been in Nuoro since yesterday...after lunch, we called the right restaurant to make sure the previous call had been received correctly, considering that the person who answered the initial call immediately showed little availability even to receive my reservation request. Surprise. No reservations recorded...and needless to say...no possibility of a reservation for tonight, and not even a half-word apology. Luckily, Nuoro is full of restaurants and people ready to do their job with the necessary expertise. Buy a pen and notepad for whoever answers the phone, or at least assign someone who can write a reservation or at least has adequate cognitive skills. Never again. Best regards.

18/11/2025: I think this place has an undeserved reputation.
Perhaps it's word of mouth that keeps the place packed, but honestly, I don't understand such a high profile, even though I recognize the quality of the food served.
The setting is a "grotto" in the historic center, on a narrow street not on the seafront, and it's packed with tables and people, where the noise makes conversation almost impossible.
The place is cramped, and the service is structured into two fixed shifts, so the food feels like a fast food restaurant. FAST.
The menu is absolutely fixed and decided by the restaurateur: 4 appetizers, 2 first courses, 2 main courses (usually 2 shrimp per person and a boneless fish), and finally a small portion of cake. Nothing else.
All dishes arrive on serving plates, not portioned, but to be shared among diners.
No boneless fish preparation service is provided (you have to make do, they don't have time, everything is rushed).
And one of the problems is precisely time, because if you're on the first shift at 8:00 PM, you have to quickly wolf down the entire dinner in an hour and a half at most to free up the table for the next shift. Unacceptable.
The seats are cramped and set with paper napkins; the water is microfiltered and the house wine is in bulk. Like in a trattoria with much more modest prices.
I don't want to specifically comment on the food because, although it could be likened to a sort of culinary journey, the service offered, as I described, isn't properly proportionate to the asking price.
The price is a fixed €55 per person.

20/11/2025: By far the worst restaurant I've ever been to!
After waiting forever just for bread, water, and wine, we finally order...
I order a pane frattau (and the waitress tells me the chef added a potato cream to accompany it), and my wife orders stewed cuttlefish.
The cuttlefish arrive completely cold, still with ice inside because they were frozen, while I'm served an egg poached. So we call the waitress and, without touching the plate, send them back since they'd made a mistake from the kitchen. We also point out the ice inside the cuttlefish, and... all hell breaks loose!
The chef arrives, reporting that he made the pane frattau without sauce or bread, so if I didn't like it, it wasn't their mistake but mine. He insists the ice isn't ice since (as per the menu) the cuttlefish aren't frozen. So we cut up a cuttlefish and take the ice from him, and without apology, he takes both plates away, angrily and grumpily.
Even though we wanted to leave (and we would have done just fine), we ordered something else: tagliolini with cockerel ragù and cod with vegetables.
No complaints about the cod, but it's better not to mention the unseasoned, sticky, and chewy pasta with diced chicken breast... I was so hungry I ate part of the dish, then went to the cashier and finally left... and... they'd charged us both for the cuttlefish we left because they were still frozen, and for the pane frattau, which was actually a poached egg. When I asked for an explanation, the mysterious chef came out and said that since we were tourists, he didn't care if we had a good or bad time, as we wouldn't be returning anyway.
2 incorrect appetizers, 1 first course, 1 second course, €110 excluding wine... with plenty of insults and teasing...

A negative note...
After hearing that myrtle liqueur was offered at other tables, we found it added to our bill.
Undoubtedly good, but we won't be returning.
13/10/2025: The food is good, the service rather distinguished. Beer is only available in bottles. The ravioli was delicious, and the lamb had plenty of bones.

27/10/2025: Cucumiao is the best of the three restaurants we visited in and around Palau. It's true that the menu, with its ten pages, can be daunting and make you wonder about the freshness of the dishes, but we tried several dishes and everything was perfect. I recommend the typical pane frattau dish, which is simply excellent.
