The selection of local products and wines is also excellent. Perfect for lunches or dinners with family, friends, or for work. The staff is incredibly friendly; you always feel at home. 18/11/2025: I think this place has an undeserved reputation. Perhaps it's word of mouth that keeps the place packed, but honestly, I don't understand such a high profile, even though I recognize the quality of the food served. The setting is a "grotto" in the historic center, on a narrow street not on the seafront, and it's packed with tables and people, where the noise makes conversation almost impossible. The place is cramped, and the service is structured into two fixed shifts, so the food feels like a fast food restaurant. FAST. The menu is absolutely fixed and decided by the restaurateur: 4 appetizers, 2 first courses, 2 main courses (usually 2 shrimp per person and a boneless fish), and finally a small portion of cake. Nothing else. All dishes arrive on serving plates, not portioned, but to be shared among diners. No boneless fish preparation service is provided (you have to make do, they don't have time, everything is rushed). And one of the problems is precisely time, because if you're on the first shift at 8:00 PM, you have to quickly wolf down the entire dinner in an hour and a half at most to free up the table for the next shift. Unacceptable. The seats are cramped and set with paper napkins; the water is microfiltered and the house wine is in bulk. Like in a trattoria with much more modest prices. I don't want to specifically comment on the food because, although it could be likened to a sort of culinary journey, the service offered, as I described, isn't properly proportionate to the asking price. The price is a fixed €55 per person. This is what I had to share.

17/10/2025: Traditional Sardinian dishes are good and plentiful, but prices are a bit above average. Reservations are recommended. A negative note... After hearing that myrtle liqueur was offered at other tables, we found it added to our bill. Undoubtedly good, but we won't be returning.

28/09/2025: My sweetheart and I were invited to lunch. Getting there was complicated due to the outdated Google Maps directions. The restaurant has a rustic feel, like all the other agriturismos. We were welcomed by the courteous and polite staff. We were looked after by Francesco, who is worth the effort if you go looking for him: courteous, patient, and always present. The lunch was a bit below expectations for the price, which is €40 per person. All in all, the owner, Giuseppe, wanders among the tables as if we were at a family party, and that's nice because it makes you feel like you're part of it. The space is large, so you can feel a bit reserved. So the price of lunch is a bit high. I recommend a family day out, even if you're alone. Remember to call to book.

27/10/2025: Cucumiao is the best of the three restaurants we visited in and around Palau. It's true that the menu, with its ten pages, can be daunting and make you wonder about the freshness of the dishes, but we tried several dishes and everything was perfect. I recommend the typical pane frattau dish, which is simply excellent.
