01/05/2026: We chose this enchanting place for our son's First Communion and were truly delighted. Paolo, the owner, and his staff made our day special. The location is enchanting and immersed in ancient Rome, with a beautiful view of the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella. Appetizers, two first courses, mixed grill, fruit gelato, cake, amaro, and more!
Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. Thanks also to Massimo, who carefully supervised to ensure everything was perfect. I recommend it for any type of event. A well-deserved 5 stars.

05/05/2026: We had lunch at Da Giancarla and had a truly positive experience. The dishes were excellent, with authentic flavors, generous portions, and carefully prepared. The value for money was excellent: we ate really well for a more than reasonable price. Also noteworthy is the kindness, helpfulness, and attentiveness shown toward customers—qualities that always make the difference. It's one of those places where you feel welcomed and immediately want to return. Highly recommended!

But it satisfies all the local markers, no one outside hustling you, menu /blackboard in Italian and whilst it had red checked table cloth, it was not the classic checked. Enjoy! It is local.

Excellent.

11/08/2026: Best restaurant in Rome. Ate there twice when we stayed in Rome. They set the bar very high for food and service, put everywhere else to shame. Arigo was the best waiter we've ever had!

24/07/2026: I went here for dinner with my husband on our first night in Rome, and we are definitely considering going back again! 10/10 I can recommend. The service was really friendly, and even though the place was relatively full, the food came out quickly. I have never had such good pasta in my life! Wow!
22/07/2026: I ordered amatriciana and panna cotta. The amatriciana might be a little on the strong side for Japanese tastes, but it was delicious.
For the panna cotta, you can choose from about three sauces, including berry and caramel. I chose berry. That was delicious too!

07/08/2026: I'm returning to this restaurant after years. The first thing I notice is a generational change: Enrico is no longer here, even though his photo is prominently displayed throughout the restaurant. The quality remains excellent, however, as is the service. It's rare to find a place with such attentive and polite waiters. Watching over everyone is what could be Enrico's son, whose singing talent (awful, to be honest) is inversely proportional to his ability to welcome customers and anticipate their requests. They say the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree... well, this is a case where generational succession doesn't detract from the quality. Special mention for the rice with cream of scampi. Well done. Fair prices.

06/05/2026: A very nice and normal restaurant without much fuss. Definitely don't let the less attractive facade put you off! The welcome was very friendly, as was the service throughout the evening. We had a delicious meal and drinks here for a very attractive and fair price. There is a limited menu (which is a good thing) and the waiter is happy to help with some suggestions. This is a restaurant where mainly Romans come to dine; you will find few tourists here (for now). Highly recommended for anyone who just wants to enjoy a good meal.
03/05/2026: Rustic, homey atmosphere, friendly staff, and traditional Roman cuisine. I didn't like some of the things I didn't like: the tough puntarelle and the tripe with too much clove odor.

10/07/2026: Had a plate of pasta Amatriciana, a glass of very good red wine selected by the owner (or at least one of the owners, now I regret not asking his name) and finished lunch with a tiramisu cup and an espresso. Everyone was friendly and quite understanding of my poor ability to speak Italian. They let me in a couple of minutes before 12 (the opening time). It was a great dining experience and an excellent demonstration of the Trastevere hospitality. Thank you for everything!

30/06/2026: Excellent restaurant. Unfortunately, we paid more in fines for entering the restricted traffic zone, which we didn't notice, than in bills. Never again in Frascati.
27/06/2026: A typical restaurant with excellent dishes. I highly recommend the oxtail meatballs.
Everything was excellent. I will definitely be back.
