25/05/2026: I would not have popped into this restaurant if not from a local recommendation as it is located right in the square! But it satisfies all the local markers, no one outside hustling you, menu /blackboard in Italian and whilst it had red checked table cloth, it was not the classic checked. Enjoy! It is local.

18/05/2026: Affordable and high-quality upscale Italian cuisine in a cozy and well-maintained trattoria atmosphere. Friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive staff. Before the meal, you're served delicious bread and grissini, along with a stuzzichino – a sort of "greeting from the kitchen."

05/06/2026: Excellent family restaurant, the kind where you feel at home. The friendly couple who own the restaurant welcomed you in a unique and very special way, with kindness and hospitality. The atmosphere is simple, outside the tourist area, so you can truly feel at ease. The menu features excellent dishes from the Naples region, including vegetarian options. Start with the artichoke and then go for the paccheri with mussels. Good wine options by the glass. Don't forget to order a dessert accompanied by the house limoncello. Very good value for money. Well worth a visit.

08/05/2026: Excellent osteria. We dined here after visiting the Foro Italico, and enjoyed the traditional Roman first courses, including the pasta alla Nerano. The desserts were also excellent, especially the babà and cheesecake. The service was very welcoming and helpful.

06/05/2026: A very nice and normal restaurant without much fuss. Definitely don't let the less attractive facade put you off! The welcome was very friendly, as was the service throughout the evening. We had a delicious meal and drinks here for a very attractive and fair price. There is a limited menu (which is a good thing) and the waiter is happy to help with some suggestions. This is a restaurant where mainly Romans come to dine; you will find few tourists here (for now). Highly recommended for anyone who just wants to enjoy a good meal.

07/05/2026: Every year when I come to Ristorante Virginiae, I look forward to it all over again. The food is simply incredibly delicious – authentic Roman cuisine, bursting with flavor and prepared with so much love. The ravioli and artichokes, in particular, are always an absolute highlight. On top of that, there's a fantastic, relaxed, and easygoing atmosphere where you immediately feel at ease. Everyone is warm, friendly, and cheerful – you can tell right away that they work with passion. A very special thank you to Silvano for his good humor, his good cheer, and above all, his attentive service 😊 A place you'll always want to return to.

12/06/2026: Disappointing Service Despite Decent Food We were a group of three, and although the food itself was good, the overall experience was very disappointing. One person at our table received their plate a full five minutes and more before the rest of us, which already set the tone. What really ruined the evening was the lack of service. The table beside us saw their waitress several times, while we were barely acknowledged. No one asked if we wanted secondi, no one offered espresso, and not even a dessert menu. For Italy, that’s honestly surprising. It’s clearly a place targeting tourists , they even have a TV outside showing soccer, even though Italy isn’t in the World Cup. That tells you everything about their priorities. The food was decent, but with so many better quality and better‑priced options just a few steps away, this restaurant is not worth your time. I would recommend choosing another spot in the area.

06/06/2026: ​Two years ago, I would have told you this was the best amatriciana I had ever eaten. Today, it is mediocre and completely ordinary. Back then, the service was incredible, but now it is deplorable. We waited over 10 minutes just for some cheese, the bread was hard and stale, and the Aperol Spritz lacked any actual "spritz." To top it off, I've honestly had better carbonara in Mexico. It was awful to see a beautiful memory go down the drain. I won't be coming back.

07/06/2026: What a wonderful restaurant in the heart of Garbatella. Small but tasty menu. Their house pasta (fettuccine with sesame and butter) was unique and delicious, as was the maialina (suckling pig). Loved it.

26/04/2026: Interesting little place, intimate atmosphere, excellent dishes paired with a glass of good wine. We ordered grilled cod squares with cacio e pepe and black truffle, and double-breaded anchovies, both truly delicious. The dessert was also excellent, a warm apple and cream tart.
