I went here for dinner with my husband on our first night in Rome, and we are definitely considering going back again! 10/10 I can recommend. The service was really friendly, and even though the place was relatively full, the food came out quickly. I have never had such good pasta in my life! Wow!

We were looking for a restaurant serving authentic and traditional food "romanesco", not for tourists. And likely this time CHAT GPT's advice was very good. We went on a Wednesday in July, at 7pm, there were some tables available. We were greeted by the waiters in a very friendly and warm way, felt immediately relaxed and at home. The food was spectacular, the service top, we can only recommend every tourist who want a genuine roman cousins experience to go to Al Gallinaccio! See you soon!

I ordered amatriciana and panna cotta. The amatriciana might be a little on the strong side for Japanese tastes, but it was delicious.
For the panna cotta, you can choose from about three sauces, including berry and caramel. I chose berry. That was delicious too!
The pasta, whether carbonara or bolognese, is perfect. It's close to the city center, and the service is friendly and fast; just come and sit. I recommend it.

A lovely dinner with friendly service, waiters who speak English and even a little French, and a unique dining room, a bit dated but also more authentic. The food was excellent, especially the truffle pasta – generous portions, perfectly cooked, in true Italian style. They gave us great recommendations for discovering good Italian wines. In short, a very pleasant establishment. My only slight regret was the rather quiet atmosphere, due to the dining room being frequented mostly by tourists rather than locals.
