20/11/2024: Excellent Roman cuisine revisited in a contemporary key. The traditional panzanella and cacio e pepe are delicious. Spartan environment, our "room" was actually an outdoor area heated with "mushrooms". Upon arrival, it was cold, then thanks to the wine and the "human warmth" everything improved. Recommended in any case

07/07/2024: The food was amazing, well prepared and delicious - definitely try the chicken meatballs and cacio e pepe (pasta perfectly cooked). The vegetable pie was exquisite - be sure to order several of them! The atmosphere is wonderful as others have noted the wine cellar is a must see.
07/07/2024: Accueil chaleureux par le patron qui a toujours une petite anecdote pour ses clients. Décor standard en salle. Certains plats favorisent les producteurs locaux. Les plats sont excellents et en quantité suffisantes. Il manquerait toutefois un serveur en plus (un seul présent).

17/12/2024: I was invited for a pizza. I ordered a simple bruschetta with tomato and a margherita with buffalo mozzarella. The bruschetta was cold and the tomatoes were cold from the fridge (inedible), the pizza was almost burnt and dry, as for the mozzarella I have some doubts that it was buffalo mozzarella because it was dry and flavourless. My only regret is that I wasn't able to complain out of respect for the person who invited me. Terrible service, served coke at room temperature. I do not recommend this place. Very bad.

24/12/2024: The artichoke gricia is exceptional and unique, the artichoke is the king of every dish. The service is perfect under the supervision of the efficient and friendly Massimo. Not to be missed if you pass by the Ghetto.
24/12/2024: Trattoria with typical Roman flavors and environments, which met expected expectations. Traditional dishes, well prepared, excellent raw materials too.
I can say that the best artichoke alla giudia of my stay in Rome.
Massimo is kind, welcoming and....absolutely nice.
Without a doubt, when I return to Rome, it will still be among my destinations!

20/12/2024: There were 2 of us for dinner. Excellent trattoria, delicious products and quick service.
The only flaw: the parking, which there isn't enough in the area.
19/12/2024: Probably the best pasta in Rome, artisanal and exquisite. Although the same cannot be said for tiramisu, which is scarce for the price, it has almost no coffee and has plenty of nutella. The pasta prices are reasonable for the quality, but we find it incredible that they charge 2.5 euros for a bottle of refilled tap water. It also doesn't seem normal to us that they charge 1.5 per person for service. In addition, it is uncomfortable to eat so crowded with the rest of the diners. All in all, we ate very well, but the experience was quite disappointing.

10/12/2024: Nice experience in a nice and welcoming place. Service up to par, as is the menu. I still haven't understood the "cream" of the grey, which I found tasteless and a bit "useless". It's a shame, because the cooking of the pasta and the crunchiness of the bacon were worthy of a starred chef!

21/12/2024: There is no way that in such an important and renowned restaurant specializing in grilled meat the cuts arrive at the table cold! An unforgivable mistake that overshadows everything else. What's even more serious is not even half an explanation from the owners. It's not done like that. Also because they weren't free.
07/12/2024: The first courses were excellent, some had the carbonara, others the fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, excellent, creamy. Some took the second course directly, grilled steaks stripped to the bone. Advised.

In an old commercial, rigatoni became the bulwark of a simple and ausonic authenticity in defense of the spread of a culinary Gallicism that implied a fatuous elegance... in short, rigatoni is better for feeling truly al dente.
The author of the commercial was Fellini and after decades we still believe that the Maestro was right in celebrating the pasta format created to improve the hold of the sauce, a format that today we would define as smart.
The idea of taste optimization at the base of rigatoni lives again in this restaurant, near the dream factory that was Cinecittà, where we sometimes go with the family.
It lives on for example in the combinations that weave together in the tuna tartare with citrus fruits, or in the cod meatballs served on a bed of chickpea humus or in the challenging potato, mozzarella and mushroom pie on parmesan fondue. It is exalted in the aubergine millefglie (a smart parmigiana I would dare say)......a river of flavors like the flow of sometimes dazzling thoughts à la "8 1/2".
It relaunches itself in chestnut ravioli on gorgonzola and truffle fondue, decidedly in spaghetti with tuna, capers and Taggiasca olives (perhaps I would have insisted with lemon) or delicately with sea bass, bottarga and chopped pistachios... an "Amarcord" of regional flavors.
It triumphs in the Danish sirloin cut, very tender, accompanied by very thin French fries....and here the game is simple and didactic: "i Vitelloni".
Last but not least, "Dolce Vita" and sweet hot chocolate cake with zabaglione and chocolate chips, but also tiramisu in "Boccaccio ('70)", the preparation of which becomes a scheduled film on the screen.
And even the large window overlooking the kitchen looks like a large 16/9 on which the "orchestra rehearsal" of food is staged.
So "The road" to get from dreams to taste is traced by those intelligent lines that characterize Rigatoni.
