26/07/2025: Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a bruschetta. I would recommend trying the carbonara, as it showcases the authentic flavors of Roman cuisine. Additionally, I opted for a scaloppina with mushrooms, which was quite enjoyable. They promptly provided an electronic invoice, and I appreciated the generous portions offered at a reasonable price.

08/07/2025: Roman cuisine “de mamma”’without infamy and without praise… I was a guest and I have no idea of ​​the quality/price ratio. When I went to the bathroom you could smell the old dives “de na vorta” really sore point the very dangerous parking on via Ardeatina. For my tastes I would not go back but still worth trying…

13/07/2025: La Caraffa is a fantastic choice if you're looking for great value for money. The pasta is incredibly tasty, with generous portions that really satisfy. The fish is fresh and well-prepared, and the service is friendly and attentive. A great spot for a delicious and relaxed meal !

01/08/2025: A very nice surprise. We came as a family because it was close to our Airbnb. I ate the best lemon escalopes of my life there, with an excellent sauce. My children had very good pasta: butter and parmesan and basil and cheese ravioli. A family welcome, good value for money. I recommend it.

If you think these portions are small, you're right – they are. ;) Amatriciana and cacio e pepe will quench any hunger pangs; they're simple, yet simply delicious. The amount of cheese in this dish is mind-blowing <3 I highly recommend it to all pasta lovers!

29/07/2025: Recommended by our hotel staff! A restaurant with a classic, relaxed atmosphere. La Francescana is a traditional trattoria beloved by locals. The hotel staff recommended it as a great place for delicious pizza, so we decided to give it a try! I ordered the salami pizza, and my companion ordered the porcini risotto. The pizza was perfectly toasted, with just the right balance of saltiness and cheese. 🍕 The risotto was also rich and had a strong mushroom aroma. We even had dessert, which was not too sweet and tasted refined, leaving us very satisfied. The interior has a retro, relaxed atmosphere. The service was attentive, but the wait was a little long. I recommend it for those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal. ☺️

21/07/2025: This has got to be THE rudest restaurant staff since I have ever dealt with in my ENTIRE life (and I am a VERY patient customer, I promise). We are tourists. We asked for advice from the waiter and acknolwedged (hey, we are oblvious tourists.) His looks were always like (that’s such a stupid question. Oh, you think this is really Italian?). At some point he literally pushed my wife’s tissue that she was using aggressively off the menu pretending that he is pointing to something in it. When we left and I asked to report to the manager, the manager refused to take accountability and literally told me (the problem is in you, not my waiter). I was with my wife and 2 kids (13 and 7 yr old). Ugly experience and extremely ugly, rude, and unaccountable staff. I would give zero stars if there were any.

09/08/2025: I've been to this restaurant many times over the past five years, always for lunch and only once for dinner. The last visit was last Monday for lunch: excellent quality, a simple and casual restaurant, with a stellar set menu based on fresh products that change with the season. The owner, Paola, was a delight: the soul of the place, capable of instantly putting you in a good mood even on bad days. Sadly, she's no longer with us, but the service and atmosphere remain top-notch thanks to Pietro, who has managed to elevate an already special place. I will definitely return and highly recommend it... but only for lunch! At dinner, the service is much slower, lacking the same customer service and attention to detail. The quality of the food remains excellent, but without the eye and attention of Pietro, who only works at lunchtime, the experience isn't as good.

30/07/2025: Come da titolo. Oramai è un’istituzione nella ristorazione di fascia alta nella capitale. Locale ottimamente arredato, sempre lindo ed ordinato. Servizio attento e di altissima qualità con grandissima attenzione al cliente. Menù di terra e di mare della tradizione romana e laziale. Materia prima sempre fresca, eccellente e ricercata. Prezzi adeguati alla qualità delle pietanze e dei servizi. SE SIETE IN ZONA LO CONSIGLIO SENZA RISERVE.

27/07/2025: We had read a lot of positive feedback about this restaurant and that was the reason why during our Rome trip, we made sure to have dinner here. As out trip was in March, not high season for Italy, we did not think of making a reservation beforehand: big mistake. We could find a table only for lunch. So, make sure to reserve ahead of time. Located just across the Rome Opera, the restaurant is very centrally located. The decoration and overall ambiance is very cozy and Italian. The food is very good but not that different than other good restaurants in the city. The service could be better, it was a bit sloppy and even on the verge of being rude time to time, that's a pity for an establishment like this. Nevertheless, we enjoyed having lunch here, it was, for most part of it, the Italian experience we were looking for.

12/07/2025: Excellent service. Courtesy and expertise. Prices are a bit higher than average. The food is good and healthy, but nothing special. No air conditioning, and the space is small.

09/07/2025: I had the spaghetti with a little squid, it was pretry nice but the carbonara looked amazing.

05/08/2025: I went with a group of non-Romans, and they were beyond their expectations. They wanted to try traditional Roman dishes, and I must say they were a great choice. The food was truly plentiful. There were three dishes for each. I recommend the beans with pork rind and tripe and the rigatoni all'Amatriciana.

03/08/2025: Cacio e pepe subbliminale. La bruschetta con il lardo e pomodorini troppo buona. Il tiramisù con la Nutella i ha “sconquassato”.

15/07/2025: The worst treatment EVER!!! I had called to make a reservation at 6.45 p.m for my daughter because I speak Italian and she doesn't. She was going with a friend and Augusto confirmed with me. When she showed up with her friend, they said they didn't have a reservation and turned them away. It is hard not to think it is because they were the only two non white people and didn't speak Italian. We have gone in the past because their food is delicious but what a bunch of terrible people, really.
