19/02/2026: Lured in by a charismatic gentleman promising “Sexy Wine” which tasted like carbonated strawberry jam for 20 euro which could be nice depending on one’s taste. The gentleman at my table received a rather subpar experience, a blu steak despite asking for medium rare which then became burnt after asking for a little longer on the grill. The carbonara was made with bacon and the fruit de la mere comprised of a similar experience of picking a fight with Italian Law enforcement, put simply I had mouthful of rubber bullets, shattered coins and garlic. The pizza used frozen dough which they kindly pointed out in the menu (good of them don’t get me wrong) but according to the Italian at my table was the equivalent of rubbing one’s knob on the mozzarella, that being said the pizza was fine according to my British standards. The women received a similar quality of food but with far more showbiz in the form of silly tricks and flirting which felt a bit strong by my standards. Regardless they seemed to enjoy it. All being said the waiters were charismatic and funny despite English being their second or third language, worth a go if you have (or are) a woman alongside you who doesn’t mind mildly aggressive flirting and a couple jokes on whatever nationality you have (they managed to make our polish friends laugh and they made me feel proud to be British for ordering a pint at 11 AM). Proceeded to spend about 180 euro for a party of 10, rather average for Rome ngl.

28/02/2026: Excellent dishes, delicious cacio e pepe and artichokes alla giudia. Very kind and friendly service. The restaurant is located in the charming little square of the Iovinelli shadow.

05/03/2026: After a long wait, I finally managed to book a lunch reservation. Luckily, the place is always busy. The quality of the dishes was top-notch, the service excellent, but: the tagliata, although tender, was tasteless (I was used to other flavors at this place). A 375 cl Cesanese red wine for €11 wasn't bad. To say that the Cream Caramel is the same as Crema Catalana is an exaggeration. Finally, the price: two first courses, two meat-based second courses, two side dishes, wine, dessert, and coffee totaled €131.50. Perhaps a bit steep, but they say you pay for quality, so I'll try to return and see if I can get better luck.

10/01/2026: We had dinner at this restaurant in Rome with my family, intrigued by the name Saltimbocca because I really wanted to try one... and I have to say, it didn't disappoint 😄 The first thing that struck us was the staff's incredible kindness, especially towards our son: for me, it was a great calling card. We had a truly delicious and fragrant pinsa margherita. The cacio e pepe was fantastic, so much so that I even mopped up the bread with it! The saltimbocca was simply the best. The restaurant also has some outdoor seating. Inside, it's quite spacious, although perhaps there are a few too many tables, which slightly limits the amount of space available. My only small disappointment: I didn't get to try dessert because the one I wanted was sold out. Prices are normal. The bathroom is accessible via stairs. Highly recommended 👍

08/01/2026: Everyone was so friendly. They offered me cherry wine at the end. It wasn't anything special, but it felt good. I stopped by on my way back from a long Vatican tour. There were quite a few Asians, but I saw a lot of Westerners eating there too, so it seemed like a pretty good restaurant. I'd failed at vongole twice at other restaurants, so I tried it again near the end of my trip and it was fine. (Carbona tastes different in Korea, but vongole doesn't seem to taste the same, lol.) I ordered two pastas, so I also had thinly sliced ​​steak as a side dish, which was delicious. I didn't get to try the stew that everyone else was ordering, but it's not worth traveling far for, and it's worth stopping by if you're nearby. I always get wine by the glass recommendations at restaurants, and I was delighted to find the red wine that best suits my taste. (Sigh)
