04/08/2026: Everything was good!!!!! I'm updating my review and confirming that everything was good, the staff was courteous and friendly, but the prices were a bit high and the toppings were a bit less for the entrees, but I have to say it was all very good. I didn't have time to take a picture of the tripe because we devoured it!

08/07/2026: Four of us were here and we had a wonderful time! The first thing that strikes you is the place: truly beautiful, tastefully decorated, and with a welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you want to return. We ordered different dishes and were all very satisfied. Some dishes were recommended to us by the waiter, who was incredibly kind, friendly, and super approachable: an added bonus to the experience. I had the truffle carbonara and it was simply fantastic: super creamy, flavorful, and truly well-made. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the care taken in the preparation. Overall, it was a truly positive experience. Excellent food, a wonderful atmosphere, and welcoming staff. I would go back in a heartbeat!

16/07/2026: I did a search for air conditioned highly rated dining establishments close to our hotel as there is a heat wave going on currently. This one came up as one of them. Here’s what we experienced. As we walked into the restaurant it was immediately apparent the air conditioning was not functioning or just non existent. We decided to give it a go despite that. The staff were friendly and courteous. We ordered our meal quickly as well as a glass of wine. I ordered a glass of red to accompany the pasta dish. The wine was so warm, it could have actually been considered hot. Again, we soldiered on. Appetizer came and was quite good. As we waited for our main, we were scouted by a couple solitary small black, looked like fruit flies, that were intent on hanging around. As the mains came, which were also quite good, the rest of the squadron of flies attended our table. As we were the only ones in the dining room, there was not going to be any relief. We skipped the desert as it was just too hot inside (hotter outside)….. I’m sure if the a/c was working the experience would possibly have been a little different. But, here we are. Would I go back again? I think I’d pass and move on to the next. So, experience was good, but not great…

09/08/2026: I visited this restaurant with my wife and our dog. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and a waitress. The location is rustic and welcoming, the food is very good, but above all, what's always a pleasure is the attention to detail. The owners and waitress were attentive to every request. When we return to Grottaferrata, we'll pop into Il Buco for dinner again! VERY FAIR PRICES!

02/08/2026: Let's start with the service, which is a bit too rigid: service starts at 8:00 PM, and if you arrive a few minutes early, you still have to wait that time to order. The Buco appetizer is good, but I would have liked a few more slices of cold cuts to accompany the buffalo mozzarella and ricotta. Personally, I would have preferred a classic fraschetta appetizer, more complete and with a little bit of everything. The pasta with truffle, porcini mushrooms, and pancetta seemed a bit bland and flavorless. Obviously, it's a matter of taste, but I would recommend choosing a different topping. The saltimbocca, on the other hand, were really good, as were the prices. The glass of wine for just €1 was also very welcome!

21/07/2026: We opted for the fish dishes, and they were truly delicious, with special mention for the chef's imagination. The restaurant, despite it being a Tuesday evening, was fully booked and the atmosphere was chaotic, but the service was efficient nonetheless. Definitely worth trying again!

09/08/2026: If you're looking for a traditional restaurant in the heart of Ortisei, this restaurant is definitely an interesting choice. The interior is truly welcoming, with the warmth of wood evoking true South Tyrolean tradition. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, though I recommend being careful if dining outside while the sun is still shining: the direct light can be quite strong and a bit distracting, depending on your table. The staff was prompt, courteous, and consistently friendly throughout the dinner. As for the food, the menu offers tantalizing and well-executed ideas. One dish I absolutely recommend is the pasta with cacio, pepe, and fava beans—truly excellent! The only complaint about the food concerns the portions: given the prices on the menu, one would expect something slightly larger. The downside, unfortunately, is the prices, especially the drinks. Paying €6 for a 0.75L bottle of water seemed decidedly excessive (I've spent less even at Michelin-starred restaurants), and it was the most expensive of the several places I tried in the area. Bread isn't included in the cover charge; you have to ask for it and pay for it separately. Overall, it was still a positive experience.

07/08/2026: A truly worthwhile lunch! The venison shoulder melted in your mouth, and the ravioli were spectacular. Kudos to the chef, who truly has a masterful hand in the kitchen: when there's passion, it shows in the first bite. Well done everyone, we'll definitely be back.

27/07/2026: I tried the restaurant with colleagues, and we were all pleasantly surprised. The interior is old-fashioned, dominated by wood and the aroma of tradition. The first courses were generous, and the carbonara was very good. We also tried the second courses, and the meat was very tender. The only downside is the price: it might be a bit steep for a quick lunch, given the high number of offices; a set menu could be offered. Overall, it's still good!

19/07/2026: A charming family-run restaurant that served a fantastic Sunday lunch complete with cacio e pepe pasta, lamb, cooked greens + roasted porcini, and a cup of wild strawberries with gelato to top it all off. An authentic spot full of Italians, and full of heart.

06/05/2026: A warm, quaint place. The young, friendly, and knowledgeable staff are knowledgeable. I dined there two nights in a row, once with a friend and once with my husband. Everything was truly excellent. Special mention goes to the promptness of the owner (I think): there was a small mix-up with the bill, and he resolved it promptly and professionally. When customer care and intelligence make for a perfect welcome. Well done. See you soon.

18/05/2026: There were four of us for dinner. We visited the restaurant because of the good reviews. However, we couldn't agree with the reviews. The food was mediocre and the service was anything but attentive and friendly. We wouldn't go there again.

16/05/2026: We went there for lunch and for dinner the following evening. Service, food and atmosphere was excellent on both occasions. No hesitation in recommending it.

17/05/2026: This osteria was discovered on social media, but it's far from the typical tourist-filled restaurant you'd find in central Rome. A carefully crafted traditional Roman menu blends seamlessly with a pleasant atmosphere despite the large seating capacity. Special mention to Edoardo, who made our culinary journey at the osteria fun and enjoyable! Highly recommended!

16/05/2026: I went to this place because some friends had spoken highly of it, but the last time they went was four years ago, so the quality has probably dropped significantly. I tried both the amatriciana and the gricia, both truly awful. The pasta was undercooked (not al dente, if you cut it in half you could see the white part inside), and even the amatriciana was dry. The pork cheek was low-quality and not very crispy. The only positive note was the pecorino cheese, which wasn't bad. I also tried the trio of main courses, all three of which were mediocre. The best part of the dinner was the artichoke, which was decent. Excellent service, friendly waiters.
