02/08/2025: A quick preface. I've been coming to Sacrofano for many years. But I only moved here a year ago... and I love it. I'd only used Chalet for takeout pizzas, and they were excellent. However, in my opinion, they have a strong competitor when it comes to pizza. But theirs are good, in terms of dough, cooking, and ingredients. Let's look at the menu: what a pleasant surprise. Compared to some of the places in Scrofano's collective imagination, which have retained almost nothing but the historical memory of times gone by, Chalet offers a simple yet well-executed menu. Starting with the ingredients, which are high-quality and well-prepared. For example, the carbonara was served to me perfectly, with a creamy texture and a good proportion of bacon, cooked perfectly as per tradition. I would have liked a little more pepper, but that's purely personal taste, which has nothing to do with proper preparation. The pasta cooking? Perfectly al dente, as it should be. Let's move on to the "simple" side dish of grilled vegetables: fresh, well-prepared, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned (as was the carbonara). Finally, the most important note for me: the staff is extremely friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and pleasant, attentive to the diner's needs and concerned about their well-being. The same can be said of the owners. In conclusion: highly recommended, for any occasion.

08/06/2025: Este restaurante es una joya del barrio. Si quieres una comida fantástica que esté lejos de las trampas turísticas, visita Al Viminale. Todo lo que pedimos estaba muy bien cocinado, era súper fresco, y delicioso. ¡Debo intentarlo en Roma!

01/06/2025: Pudimos reservar una mesa aquí antes de nuestra llegada a Roma, que era conveniente. El personal es amable y servicial. La comida era buena. Necesitábamos recordarles una guarnición, pero no le restó valor a la experiencia.

30/08/2025: Stopped there for an early dinner in late May. The server, who may be the owner was horrible. She noticed we were Americans and acted as if she did not speak English, even though she spoke well to other English speaking patrons. The vegetable appetizer was OK but then she gave a large plate of liver that we did not order. When we tried to pay by credit card she reached in my wallet and took cash, even though other patrons were able to pay with credit cards. DO NOT GO HERE!

29/07/2025: I don't recommend it at all. Thieves. The food was nothing special. When I asked for the bill, they made me pay for the bread I hadn't touched, using the excuse that "bread" meant the cutlery. They were supposed to give me €7 back, but they only gave me €5. When I asked for the missing €2, the waiter insinuated that I had already taken that money, lying and saying I had left the €2 on the table. It's very rude and inconceivable to accuse the customer of keeping that money in their wallet when they are the thieves... the thief thinks everyone is like him, certainly.

15/08/2025: Very nice, elegant I'd say. Prices are a little above average, but the location justifies it. The pizza is a little too moist, I'd say limp, but the rest is okay.

14/08/2025: A spacious restaurant with fast, friendly service and a well-curated menu featuring unique and classic dishes, perfect for a quick lunch. Good value.

03/10/2025: 16 euros for 2 small bruschettas and sparkling water... with unfriendly waiters

It's not very good, but it's very small. 🇷 > The restaurant has decent food, but the service is poor. The bruschetta was served burnt, which spoiled the experience. Overall, the place is average, there's room for improvement.

06/06/2025: Very cozy place, nice staff, very tasty food, I got to this restaurant by chance because there was no room in the neighboring ones, in the pictures in the reviews it seems that the portions are quite small but in fact the portions are standard, very tasty food. I ordered grilled vegetables, beef with mushrooms (I want to note that the mushrooms are not champignons as everywhere standard, the mushrooms look like honey mushrooms) very tasty, and ordered a Spritz drink. The restaurant itself has a large selection of wines and alcoholic drinks, not expensive and very tasty. I recommend

11/03/2025: Andati per un aperitivo visto che c erano tavoli fuori apparecchiati e altri non, entriamo a chiedere se potevamo fare un aperitivo e ci rispondono a malo modo che non fanno servizio all’esterno. Con tutti i tavoli apparecchiati!!! Non è la prima volta che ci vado visto che Palombi accanto è sempre pieno, e si capisce perché…, ma persone cosi cafone e poco adatte a stare con il pubblico difficilmente se ne trovano. Concordo con le recensioni negative che ho letto. E fatelo un sorriso ogni tanto si clienti sennò avrete sempre 4 gatti ai tavoli!

12/04/2025: I was literally robbed. I consumed a glass of prosecco asking for an extra finger. They brought me the same amount as other places and horrible chips. Cost 8 euros. Not to mention the blonde girl Ll cash incompatible with being in the public eye. The venue is cute. Obviously I won't go there anymore, nor will I and my company of friends. The customer should be treated nicely. It's the first time I've paid 8 euros for a glass of prose co and that's it. What a shame to go

17/08/2025: And the service was terrible. We waited an hour yesterday for fried fish. They only brought us fried calamari and very little, no other fish. For 15 euros, my brothers ordered pasta with 4 cheeses. It was useless. White pasta with disgusting cream cheese. Dirty water glasses. Guys, I never make mistakes. I've made the same mistakes, and the place is incredibly hot. It's closed, there's no air, shame on you 😒

27/06/2025: Great place, well hidden in a maze of narrow streets. I got there because I saw where I wanted to go. I recommend - traditional Roman cuisine. NOT Italian, Roman! Good ingredients, good prices, good wine. Menu written in chalk, several dishes with currently available ingredients, which guarantees freshness. Service cordial and smiling. There are no fireworks, but there is authentic simplicity, in which the beauty of this place lies. It's a shame not to leave a tip.

28/08/2025: The atmosphere was fantastic. Live fire steaks and a great playlist. We got the bone-in ribeye, eggplant parm and lasagna -- all were 10/10. The staff and owner were all warm and welcoming. This was our favorite restaurant in Rome. Excited to come back and try more of the menu.

25/08/2025: A delicious dinner at this Trastevere restaurant, recommended for the excellent quality of the meat and its preparation. The prices are high for the quality and for the area, but it's a place I'd happily return to.

18/08/2025: Excellent location and atmosphere. Since it's next to the Coliseum, it's not crowded, so you can eat in peace. Very attentive and happy staff

16/08/2025: We had a lovely last dinner in Rome at this place. Lovely staff, tranquil atmosphere, and great food. We loved the Roman pasta dishes and Tiramisu. Absolutely recommended for a lovely meal close to the Colosseum 👌

18/09/2025: I don't recommend this place, especially for tourists. There was a hair in the food. The drinks are also out of proportion to the price and very, very bitter. The pizza was served as if someone had simply thrown all the ingredients on it (a huge onion and a half egg). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

18/09/2025: Worst food experience. The minestrone soup was a disaster, without flavor. Consisted of a tasteless clear soup with pieces of squash, carrots and a little celery. The main course was served before we finished the first course. We sent it back saying the food was cold. They brought the same food, which was still cold. They brought new potatoes that were still cold and a reheated pizza. Worst restaurant experience in the 7 days we were in Rome

27/07/2025: The house antipasto was excellent and plentiful, the pizza was very good, a generous size, thin and crispy, and excellent in flavor. The pappardelle with wild boar ragù was VERY good, and the service was courteous and prompt. In the summer heat, the sparkling wine on tap was definitely a welcome treat. See you soon!!!

09/06/2025: As for the experience in this place, it is definitely not to be repeated. We are only talking about the pizza product consumed in this restaurant, obviously nothing else that I cannot judge. The product is presented in small dimensions that immediately gave the impression of being little more than a cheap focaccia but with the same cost as a normal-sized pizza, with a dough that is too biscuity to seem little similar to what one would expect from a traditional pizza. Friendly staff.

02/06/2025: Sono andato con dei miei amici, dopo aver visto Sinner al tennis al foro italico ci abbiamo tantissima fame erano le 22:45 per fortuna ci hanno ospitato pizza buonissima, sottile alla romana per sbaglio un mio amico gli si è rotto il bicchiere ed è andato sulla pizza del mio amico e mia, per fortuna e stavamo per finire ce ne hanno date due senza farle pagare. Bagno, condizioni penose. Del resto, locale romano.

08/05/2025: Trattoria romana storica del quartiere Prati. Personale gentile e disponibile. Atmosfera retrò che ispira tradizione Ottimi arancini e fiori di zucca casarecci. Ottima pizza sottile e ben condita cotta nel forno a legna. La birra è in bottiglia. Spero che questi locali di una volta restino ancora a lungo.

18/07/2025: I went to this restaurant with high expectations, especially because a friend had highly recommended the chicken cacciatore. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. For my appetizer, I ordered breaded zucchini flowers with anchovies. The breading was so thick and greasy that the zucchini flowers couldn't even be tasted. The chicken cacciatore was submerged in oil between the skin and bones, there was very little cacciatore, and it was all accompanied by fried toppings that looked like they came from McDonald's! I don't doubt that others have had better experiences, but mine was below expectations and certainly not in line with the reputation I had been told.

16/07/2025: ⸻ Sono andato in questo ristorante con aspettative alte, soprattutto perché un amico mi aveva vivamente consigliato il pollo alla cacciatora. Purtroppo, è stata una grande delusione. Come antipasto ho ordinato i fiori di zucca impanati con le alici , l’impanatua era talmente spessa e grassa che il fiore di zucca non si sentiva proprio, il pollo alla cacciatora era sommerso nel olio tra pelle e ossa, di cacciatora c’era ben poco e il tutto accompagnato da patine fritte che sembravano uscite dal Mc Donald !! Non metto in dubbio che altri abbiano avuto esperienze migliori, ma la mia è stata sotto le aspettative e sicuramente non in linea con la reputazione che mi era stata descritta.
