08/12/2025: Always a pleasure Even today, my husband Alfredo and I ate wonderful mixed grill and tripe at Romoletto. Everyone was very kind and very quick despite the crowds. You are a guarantee.

22/04/2026: We reserved in advance via the internet. The waiter seemed unaware of this, but immediately led us to a table in the otherwise empty restaurant. Meanwhile, the waiter was constantly on the phone via a headset. The waiter was continuously very fleeting in his communication. The food was okay, but nothing special. The pizza base was very hard and the topping very wet. The meat ravioli was very dry. There was no background music playing. There was, however, a TV showing a game show.

22/02/2026: An absolutely perfect experience from start to finish! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a big smile and genuine warmth. We immediately felt at ease, almost like we were at home. The service was impeccable: attentive, quick, and always available without being intrusive. We truly felt like royalty; every detail was taken care of to ensure a pleasant experience. The dishes were delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. And all at very reasonable prices, which made the experience even better. A welcoming, professional, and generous restaurant—the kind we wish we saw more often. I highly recommend it!

03/01/2026: Terrible!!! The experience I had at this restaurant on the evening of December 31st was, in every respect, seriously disappointing and unworthy of a restaurant business, especially on a symbolic date like New Year's Eve. I and sixteen others were forced to leave the restaurant at 10:00 PM, a circumstance completely incompatible with an evening that, by its very nature, should be well-organized, welcoming, and respectful of guests. This imposition caused obvious inconvenience, irreparably compromising the evening. From a gastronomic standpoint, the situation was no better: some dishes emitted unpleasant and unreassuring odors, while the fish-filled ravioli were of undeclared origin and of questionable quality, leaving more than one diner perplexed and concerned. Added to this is the somewhat unusual management of the service, to the point that patrons found themselves heating their own toast on the grill, in a setting that would be an understatement to call improvised. Overall, this was an experience that caused real and significant harm to guests, especially considering the time of year and the legitimate expectations associated with it. Such a level of disorganization and neglect should have no place in a restaurant open to the public. In light of what happened, I cannot recommend this restaurant, hoping that management will seriously reconsider its minimum standards of quality, safety, and customer respect.

03/01/2026: A nightmare New Year's Eve. There's no rating for this shit. I never thought I'd experience an evening like this. Seventeen of us chose this place for our New Year's Eve dinner, paying for an expensive menu that turned out to be a total disaster and a display of disrespect towards the customer. It all started with the appetizers: completely different from what was promised. The excuse? A phantom "gluten-free menu" that none of us ever requested. They served us stale, toasted, and roughly torn bread. The situation worsened with the first courses: we were forced to stop because the food was simply inedible for a human being. We had to spit out the first bite of the mussel dish, which tasted so terrible it was repulsive. The most shocking thing, however, was the staff's reaction. When we tried to have a civilized discussion to see if it was normal to present dishes in that condition, the waiters began to insult us harshly. They called us "rude," yelling that "we should have stayed home instead of going there to bother them." They continued to swear at us with incredible rudeness the entire time. Faced with the unsavory food and the verbal abuse of the staff, we decided to leave. We refused to pay the bill, in full agreement with the owner, who, acknowledging the poor service and the unbearable situation, granted our request. We didn't dine and found our New Year's Eve party ruined. This place is definitely worth avoiding.

28/04/2026: I went to Osteria 1899 and received excellent service and attention. I will certainly return on other occasions.

12/09/2025: The place is cute, well-decorated, and the staff is always smiling and friendly. It's definitely better for an aperitif or after-dinner drink. The food quality, however, is unsatisfactory. The cured meats and cheeses are of average-to-low quality, and the fried foods are very greasy and heavy. We'll try it again for an after-dinner drink.

26/03/2026: Bizarre, I called 4 weeks ago and asked the lady if she spoke English. I could make a reservation for one person for lunch on March 26th. Yes, there I stood, and simply put, they never take reservations for lunch?!?? Walked for miles. Rain and hail, but I couldn't have lunch. How disappointing from this restaurant..

15/02/2026: Excellent trattoria! The food is typically Italian and very good. The service is also excellent and they try their best to accommodate requests. Even as a guest who doesn't speak Italian, you still feel very welcome, and they make every effort to communicate. Tip – be sure to try the house wine!

26/08/2025: This restaurant has been closed for a long time. Despite this, they regularly take reservations for this restaurant. Then, an hour before your scheduled lunch/dinner, you're told to go to another restaurant (Officina del Gusto), which isn't at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini 11 but at Via Trento 7, and which is completely different from the photos and location shown in this description. I find this behavior truly unfair and deceptive towards customers, and I don't understand how booking sites still accept it.

18/04/2026: The new buffet option, €12 for lunch and €18 for dinner, is incredibly affordable, especially considering the quality of the dishes offered. The new management is immediately noticeable, from the welcome and kindness to the expert selection of the kitchen staff. They're truly talented. I forgot that breakfast is also very interesting. The coffee is excellent, and the homemade croissants are easy to digest! Welcome back, Cocotte!

13/06/2025: Who’s writing these reviews?! Did we go to the same place? This is essentially Olive Garden in Italy. Have you Alfredo pasta and baked potatoes surrounded by zero Italians. The service is bad. The food is very bad. The drinks are tasty but this isn’t a bar. There’s so many other places to eat in Rome, let this be the review you believe

13/06/2025: There was 4 of us looking for a nice restaurant for our last night in Rome. I found this one - excellent rating. When we eventually found it, we had to queue for about 10 minutes, then seated down the side of the restaurant (first reaction was that it seemed out of the way). We all ordered our meals and drinks, my husband got his first (a pizza), then about a minute or two later, spaghetti bolognese arrived for one of our friends. About 2 minutes more, my mushroom ravoli appeared. We were still waiting for one meal (beef steak strips) - that appeared 12 minutes after the first dish had arrived at the table. The steak was requested to be medium, and it appeared to be rare to medium rare - accompaniments of potatoes and rice were cold. My husband complained a couple of times and the wait staff seemed afraid of confront. But after asking for the bill, we noticed that the steak and a dessert had been comped. Definitely won't be going back, if we go back to Rome.

04/05/2026: Unfortunately, after a very good appertizer special the main courses were very disappointing. The gnnochi with red sauce and clams was not a combination I enjoyed. The red sauce was not very flavorful compared to others during our time in Italy. More clams than I'd like were closed and not edible. My wife thought her ravioli were fine compared to others had during our visit. Overall, a very average meal in Italy.

06/05/2026: How funny can it be to be in an Italian restaurant and habing uncooked pasta. The waiter isnt welcoming, seems upset to be here and annoyed by customers (even before we complaint about the food). Still waiting for my food to be served !!!

04/05/2026: Turns out there are more than only pastas to this place, unlike the waiter told us, “Only pasta” he said. I tried to simply understand what are the options for food, and the waiter got irritated by my questions very quickly due to English language barrier on his side, but how am I supposed to understand anything if there isn’t a menu?!?!? Me and my other half already got confused with everything but ordered the 25€ all you can eat since it seemed like the only option (4 unlimited pasta dishes) We got 1 dish each to start and shared them, already got full from these 2 dishes. Afterwards the waiter asked if we wish to get the remaining two, I agreed and said to bring very small portions as we’re almost full at this point. Instead of each of us getting a different dish, we get the same dish and the portion is full again. We ate just a little bit and we’re done. After about 10 minutes the waiter came again, looked that we have not eaten our dishes, rolled his eyes and walked away whilst waving his hand and whispering something to the owner of the place. Such attitude, such performance, should have won an Oscar for this. Im sad that I did not read recent reviews about this place since there is another one made today which makes total sense based on our experience. What an absolute dumpster fire, needs to be shut down.

30/04/2026: 12:15 PM: The restaurant is closed with the keys hanging inside. We call the switchboard. A very kind lady lets us in. We sit down and the waiter (obviously not Italian) doesn't understand Italian... we ask for room temperature water and it takes him a good 5 minutes to understand that we don't want it cold. Finally, he says, "Tap water is ok." Good. At least he understood. Appetizer... (1 slice of mortadella, 1 hard and burnt tomato bruschetta, a plate of beans in tomato sauce, 1 hard bruschetta with very little porchetta on top), cold pizza, not at all like two years ago. The first courses are very generous, but of poor quality. Pecorino cheese is missing, carbonara watered down with cream. The second courses are not bad, but again, tripe without pecorino cheese and meatballs that should have been meat (according to the waiter), with only breadcrumbs. Burned coffee. Impossible to get a receipt because the waiter doesn't know how to do it. Impeccable switchboard. Very helpful and friendly lady. Unfortunately, however, we can't review the switchboard. 100% failed We had a great memory.
