24/10/2025: Forget it, 67-year-old Roman. Trastevere is now a no-man's land. Carbonara with spaghetti to forget. Unpronounceable bacon. Matriciana is insubstantial and bland. It takes a lot to cook this badly in Italy. It's a tourist trap. The chef, in his 30s, should change profession. The place is run by young people who can't forgive everything. 14.50 for a carbonara? Measly portions. The quality of the raw materials is very questionable. Failed on all fronts.

28/08/2025: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Total disaster: from dinner to absolute disgust AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. This place is the perfect definition of a customer scam. I'm writing this review still disgusted by the evening I spent in what was once called a restaurant. Today, it's little more than a trap for unsuspecting tourists, with unacceptable hygiene standards and cuisine unworthy of the name. ENVIRONMENT AND HYGIENE: IMMEDIATE CLOSURE. We were placed in an outdoor area without any cover. Besides suffering from the heat, the real tragedy was when a diner was hit in the arm by the excrement of a bird nesting above us. I have the photos to prove it. But that wasn't the height of disgust: the bathrooms are old, dirty, and unkempt. Peeking into the kitchen, I saw a greasy, unclean environment, and cooks who were anything but cooks. They should have called not only the local health authority, but also the Guardia di Finanza. THE "CULINARY": A JOKE · First Courses: I ordered Cacio e Pepe, a signature dish of Rome. What I was served was a runny, sticky broth, where the cheese hadn't even mixed with the pasta, which was lukewarm to boot. Absolutely inedible. · Second Courses: Three miserable meat rolls, so small they didn't even fill the center of the plate. Burnt on the outside and sad on the inside. An insult to the customer's intelligence and to their wallet (which was cowardly robbed). · Side Dishes: Baked potatoes as dry as sawdust and a chicory that, instead of being sautéed, seemed to have been boiled in unsalted water. Flavorless, lifeless. SERVICE AND CONS: The waitress wasn't in uniform and served the dishes with such a distressed expression that she looked like she was having trouble. Maybe she was, working in a place like this. When it came time to pay the bill, there was no invoice describing the meals, just an exaggerated and generic receipt. A clear attempt to hide the prices of what were once disgusting dishes. CONCLUSION: This place is living off a past reputation that no longer exists. This place should close its doors immediately. I don't understand how it still has positive reviews if not for a blatant fake review game. I advise everyone to spend their money elsewhere, where the food is edible and hygiene is a priority. P.S. I apologize to the people I invited to this dinner.

01/01/2026: €100 for New Year's Eve. Entrance at 8:00 PM Waited in line for over half an hour to get in. The appetizers on the fish menu had 10g or less of fish. Squid ink risotto with shrimp tartare was not served. Drinks: €10 for a glass of wine, €15 for a drink. A steal.

01/01/2026: Complete rubbish... €100 on New Year's Eve for two pieces of fish. The waiter was a Calafiori lookalike, rude enough to be half-way there, and even aggressive. Awful place.

27/08/2025: Highly recommended place, very close to St. Peter's Square (on Via Borgio Pio). Great value. The portions are generous, so you won't leave hungry. The atmosphere is spectacular, and the staff is extremely friendly. They speak Spanish. Both the pasta dishes and the pizza we ate were spectacular. Without a doubt, this place isn't to be missed.

16/06/2025: Très agréablement surpris de trouver cette très bonne adresse dans ce quartier, la clientèle locale ne s’y trompe pas, elle vient nombreuse. La cuisine est assez élaborée, le service attentionné et les prix raisonnables.

03/01/2026: A nightmare New Year's Eve. There's no rating for this shit. I never thought I'd experience an evening like this. Seventeen of us chose this place for our New Year's Eve dinner, paying for an expensive menu that turned out to be a total disaster and a display of disrespect towards the customer. It all started with the appetizers: completely different from what was promised. The excuse? A phantom "gluten-free menu" that none of us ever requested. They served us stale, toasted, and roughly torn bread. The situation worsened with the first courses: we were forced to stop because the food was simply inedible for a human being. We had to spit out the first bite of the mussel dish, which tasted so terrible it was repulsive. The most shocking thing, however, was the staff's reaction. When we tried to have a civilized discussion to see if it was normal to present dishes in that condition, the waiters began to insult us harshly. They called us "rude," yelling that "we should have stayed home instead of going there to bother them." They continued to swear at us with incredible rudeness the entire time. Faced with the unsavory food and the verbal abuse of the staff, we decided to leave. We refused to pay the bill, in full agreement with the owner, who, acknowledging the poor service and the unbearable situation, granted our request. We didn't dine and found our New Year's Eve party ruined. This place is definitely worth avoiding.

03/01/2026: Terrible!!! The experience I had at this restaurant on the evening of December 31st was, in every respect, seriously disappointing and unworthy of a restaurant business, especially on a symbolic date like New Year's Eve. I and sixteen others were forced to leave the restaurant at 10:00 PM, a circumstance completely incompatible with an evening that, by its very nature, should be well-organized, welcoming, and respectful of guests. This imposition caused obvious inconvenience, irreparably compromising the evening. From a gastronomic standpoint, the situation was no better: some dishes emitted unpleasant and unreassuring odors, while the fish-filled ravioli were of undeclared origin and of questionable quality, leaving more than one diner perplexed and concerned. Added to this is the somewhat unusual management of the service, to the point that patrons found themselves heating their own toast on the grill, in a setting that would be an understatement to call improvised. Overall, this was an experience that caused real and significant harm to guests, especially considering the time of year and the legitimate expectations associated with it. Such a level of disorganization and neglect should have no place in a restaurant open to the public. In light of what happened, I cannot recommend this restaurant, hoping that management will seriously reconsider its minimum standards of quality, safety, and customer respect.

14/05/2025: We dined here in May 2023 at the recommendation of the hotel clerk when we asked him we just want a hole-in-the-wall, good food restaurant. The clerk and his family dine here, so enough said. He also warned us not to expect any smiles or friendly greeting. in fact, he said it's going to look like they're all angry at having to work while the world is walking by their restaurant. No tables were available as they don't take reservations. They provided a seating arrangement for us, which was near the bathroom and across the tiny path from where they brew their coffees, have their salt/pepper packets (yes, that's right. packets. No bottles, this includes olive oil). My wife and I love these experiences because they are raw and unpretentious. If we wanted fine dining, we would have chosen that, but this was old-school dining with Grandma literally in the back cooking and yelling at the staff. INCREDIBLE food. We walked out paying $40 for our best meal of the week, and that included 2 glasses of wine. We laughed the entire time, and I promise you non a single staff member ever cracked a smile. This was like the "soup nazi" place on Seinfeld. In our 2024 trip, we couldn't coordinate our availability with the restaurant hours, and honestly, we were very dissapointed we couldn't return. We just booked our 2025 trip and have this place on our radar. That's how unique, basic, and delicious this place is. Paper napkins, salt and pepper packets, oil and vinegar in tear-off packets, no friendly staff, Nonna in the back with a stained and soiled apron, yet AMAZING food in the heart of Trastever District!!

11/05/2025: Siamo stati in questa osteria a conduzione familiare,aiutati nella scelta da un gruppo Facebook nel quale aveva delle ottime recensioni,e così è stato. Ragazzi molto simpatici cibo casereccio romano ,rapporto qualità prezzo buono ,noi abbiamo preso 2primi ,2secondi,2contorni 1dolce ,tutto veramente ottimo ed abbiamo speso 58€i. Consigliatissimo

09/01/2026: A very nice and welcoming location right in the center of Pisa (off Corso Italia). Li, the owner, is an excellent chef and a very friendly and approachable person. The menu is varied and reasonably priced, combining sushi and traditional Tuscan and (especially) Roman dishes. I recommend it to everyone!

01/07/2025: Sono stato per la prima volta all'osteria del parco di cui uno dei titolari è Claudio Ammendola l'attore. Infatti ci sono alcune foto all'interno del locale. Ho mangiato una amatriciana eccellente. Personale gentilissimo. Ancora complimenti alla prossima.

09/02/2025: Mi presento con due zii passati da Roma da Ulisse di domenica alle 13:30, senza troppe speranze. Premetto che era la mia prima volta lì e non avevo idea di che tipo di locale fosse, speravo solo non fosse troppo turistico. Dopo neanche 10 minuti di attesa ci fanno sedere alla sala sotterranea, un ambiente con luci soffuse e atmosfera rilassante. Il servizio è stato impeccabile e garbatissimo, il cibo ottimo e il conto più che onesto. I miei zii sono stati felicissimi e mi chiedono sempre quando ci torniamo. Consiglio il fiore di zucca, davvero squisito.

26/08/2025: This restaurant has been closed for a long time. Despite this, they regularly take reservations for this restaurant. Then, an hour before your scheduled lunch/dinner, you're told to go to another restaurant (Officina del Gusto), which isn't at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini 11 but at Via Trento 7, and which is completely different from the photos and location shown in this description. I find this behavior truly unfair and deceptive towards customers, and I don't understand how booking sites still accept it.

06/08/2025: Very disappointing, Location has changed so it’s no longer near the castle. The food was medium! The carbonara was unbeatable, they burnt the bacon so bad that it gave the whole dish a bitter burnt fat taste. The Cacio e Pepe was swimming in Parmesan cream with almost no Pepe and very “commercial”. The lam was fatty and salty with some nice bites The courgette flowers tasted like mozzarella sticks with ( a lot of) anchovies Some good things, The eggplant Parmesan was nice, good sauce and full of eggplant taste! The dough for the fried pizza special was delicious. There’s some nice potential there and the owner and staff were trying very hard to accommodate but the kitchen is just not good enough Sorry guys , Very disappointing We didn’t finish three of the dishes and left with no desert

08/11/2025: The first thing I noticed as soon as I entered after a few years of not coming is the renovation of the place, which, in my opinion, has made the osteria lose its character. Now it feels half elegant restaurant, half osteria: for example, some of the chairs are modern, others are classic straw chairs. I'm also struck by the fact that, on a Saturday night, there are only three of us, whereas in the past the place was full. While waiting for the other diners, we went to the bathroom and found both the women's and men's bathrooms dirty: they definitely hadn't been cleaned before the evening, given that there were five people at the tables before us. The dishes served promptly were good, and the first courses were plentiful. The prices are a bit high for an osteria: appetizers €11-12, first courses €13-14, desserts €7, a bottle of house wine €14. Parking is a bit of a problem... only along the street (Via di Pietralata) with some spaces that aren't exactly regular.
