La Piola is not just a place where you eat but a real Osteria where every dish and every wall has a story that wants to be told. Claudio, the innkeeper, is a gentleman from another era with whom it was very pleasant to chat over a glass of Lambrusco. Simple, traditional cuisine, without frills and genuinely good.

Excellent food, welcoming host, authentic flavors of the past, also greatly appreciated by children.

The story is long, it starts from Pescia towards Lucca and Parma. It passes through Bologna and arrives almost by chance in Modena. The place is decided by Parmigiana (not from Parma, she wanted to specify) leads the Pesciano and behind are the two from Lucca. We arrive, park and are immediately catapulted into another era, here time seems to have stopped or must pass by another step. Claudio welcomes us, a man from another era, his is not a simple place where you eat. It's a tavern, and in a tavern we talk, hide ideas, discuss ideas. His is the story of a full life, he tells it with pride, he describes the dishes, which are not just dishes, they are stories, they are the stories he could tell in front of a lit fire, I could spend hours listening to him. I won't describe to you what sensations I felt while tasting every single course because it would be really reductive, nothing complicated for goodness sake, no 3 Michelin stars, just the love of a man from another era for his work. I'll put the photos in the caption and I'll give each dish its name, all truly excellent. It's far from Lucca, it's not possible to come here often, but if I have the chance to stop by here again, you can be sure that I won't fail to return, we arrived as customers and left as friends.

Typical and characteristic tavern. They make you feel at home and the food is great. I recommend everyone to go there at least once

È un posto di in epoca passata affascinante e tradizionale🤙. I piatti non sono ricercati ma semplici, tutto fresco e di tradizione. Il posto poi è fantastico ed il proprietario descrive ogni pietanza con tanta cultura e passione. Imperdibile, per chi ha la sensibilità di capirlo.

Siamo stati a cena in questo ristorante di sabato sera. L'osteria propone un menù fisso di solito, che viene enunciato dallo storico oste che ti racconta anche delle suggestive pillole della storia del locale. In questo frangente abbiamo cenato con minestraccia, tortelli senza carne, le polpette della Cervetta e il dolce. In abbinamento un vino chiamato ciliegino e il lambrusco di loro produzione. Qualità buona, tutto genuino, anche senza limitazioni di quantità, sicuramente non si esce con la fame, ma il menù è predefinito senza alternative, e quindi tanto vale informarsi prima per capire se può andare bene. Il locale presenta una forte personalità, essendo tutto in legno e con foto di varie tipologie che narrano il glorioso passato oppure vari articoli con personaggi famosi. Il servizio è cortese e con i giusti tempi e sentir parlare l'oste, è sicuramente una fonte di aneddoti interessanti su Ferrari e non solo.
