Traditional Mantuan dishes, generously sized and accompanied by the owner's delightful explanations. A decent selection of wines and desserts. We left very satisfied.

A very cozy place with a truly Italian atmosphere. Everything is neat, beautiful, and unpretentious. The food was delicious, and you could tell they cooked with love. I'd especially like to mention the waiters—attentive, friendly, and very attentive, making you feel more like a guest than a visitor.

Excellent food and flavors that combine Quality and goodness are well represented with the culinary art of Mantua in this restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. Adequate preparation is essential for customer service... the only drawback is the stairs, so those unfamiliar with the place may need to be careful... but if you're trained, it's no problem.

10/05/2026: My top choice in the area. Refined lunch, including the set menu. A welcoming restaurant with an excellent lunch menu. In addition to delicious first and second courses, there's a buffet served with various side dishes.

Antica Osteria ai Ranari

11/06/2026: We stopped in Mantua and had lunch at this Osteria after walking around the city center and only seeing very touristy places. What can I say...we had a wonderful time, everything was excellent and the prices were fair. I also bought their Sbriciolona to go, and I have to say it was excellent, perhaps better than the one I bought in the pastry shop. I hope to return to Mantua soon to try other dishes from Osteria Ranari.
31/05/2026: A somewhat secluded, relatively simple osteria with delicious Mantuan dishes, some of which are a bit different/more unusual than what you usually find. Superbly cooked, "just like Grandma/Mom's home cooking." Very friendly and efficient service. I would definitely go there again if I'm ever in Mantua again.
