A truly unforgettable dinner in Mantua. The quality of the ingredients is evident from the first bite.
We started with an excellent cold cuts platter, accompanied by small bowls of delicious caramelized onions that made everything even more delicious. The first courses were also perfectly cooked, rich in flavor and meticulously prepared. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic local cuisine.

Excellent food, we tried fried frogs for the first time, a unique but good flavor. The horse stew was very good, we'll definitely be back.

We stopped in Mantua and had lunch at this Osteria after walking around the city center and only seeing very touristy places. What can I say...we had a wonderful time, everything was excellent and the prices were fair. I also bought their Sbriciolona to go, and I have to say it was excellent, perhaps better than the one I bought in the pastry shop. I hope to return to Mantua soon to try other dishes from Osteria Ranari.

A somewhat secluded, relatively simple osteria with delicious Mantuan dishes, some of which are a bit different/more unusual than what you usually find.
Superbly cooked, "just like Grandma/Mom's home cooking."
Very friendly and efficient service.
I would definitely go there again if I'm ever in Mantua again.

Very unassuming from the outside, but nice and uncluttered inside. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Whether it's breaded and baked sardines, goose breast, ravioli filled with bitter greens, or duck, everything is top quality and prepared with care. The desserts, semifreddo and sorbet, are also not to be missed.
The staff might be a little unenthusiastic. I'd gladly come again!

Delicious lunch: Risotto pilota, interesting variant, lovely taste. Fresh and big salad bowl. Best was the Dolci: liquorice ice cream with foamy mint sauce! Perfect Italian lunch after the palazzo ducale and before the Palazzo Te. Highly recommended Osteria. Gives you the feeling you are in the hands of sofisticated hosts, like in renaissance Mantua
