Good fried dumplings filled with fillings. Excellent first courses, as were the sublime second courses. Exceptional stew.

Fantastic food. I'll definitely be back. One downside is the limited parking.

26/11/2025: Extremely long waits: three hours for a first course and a dessert. There are no gluten-free first courses, and allergens aren't listed next to each dish on the menu. Terrible service: the owner told us we could order cured meats to pass the time. We asked for wine to be served with the first course, but that wasn't the case. They didn't ask if we wanted a second course; instead, they brought us the dessert menu. The Torta delle Rose was raw. We won't be returning.

31/01/2026: We found this restaurant while wandering around Mantua's city center. It's a small place with limited seating. We didn't book, but we found a table for four. We ordered three starters: tortelli with sage butter, risotto alla pilota, and risotto with pumpkin and sausage. They were all really good. For the main course, the stew with polenta was truly sublime.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and they had participated in Borghese's "4 Ristoranti" program a few years ago. The four of us spent a total of €110, not including dessert and wine, which we didn't order.
We absolutely must return if we're passing through Mantua.
24/01/2026: The food was very good but we waited 45 minutes to have our order taken and 1 hr to eat. They just had one person serving the tables.

06/01/2026: A very beautiful and clean restaurant: the furniture, including tables and chairs, is white and still framed by the original brick walls. The waiters, dressed in elegant uniforms, are very friendly. The service is elegant but not cloying: I felt at home, and even our dog was made very welcome! The local dishes are excellent; we wanted traditional Mantuan fare, and we were satisfied! You absolutely must try the beef stew and the sbrisolona! Upon entry and after paying the bill, they give you a business card with a 10% discount, so we'll definitely be back!

Excellent location, plenty of space.
Friendly staff, but a bit disorganized: after the appetizer, they forgot about us, and our entrees took over an hour to arrive.
The food didn't live up to expectations and the prices.

23/11/2025: Pumpkin tortelli tasted only of amaretto and not of pumpkin. It's true that the recipe is traditional Mantua, BUT it's NECESSARY to list the ingredients on the menu to prevent tourists, like me, from ordering pumpkin tortelli that taste only of amaretto, which I don't even like. Clearly, if it had been specified, I wouldn't have ordered the dish. In addition to the incredibly long wait, which is to be expected on a Sunday lunch, the staff wasn't even that friendly. A negative experience.
16/11/2025: We had lunch at this osteria last week, trying a variety of first courses, including agnolotti (which I highly recommend), pumpkin tortelli, and risotto with puntel, before finishing with coffee and sbrisolona. We were served by Andrii, whose friendliness and helpfulness certainly made our lunch even more enjoyable. Between chats, he was able to offer us the best recommendations. I recommend this place if you want to try good Mantuan food at fair prices.

05/08/2025: Auf der Piazza sitzt man wunderbar! Allerdings dauerte es 20 Minuten (!) bis der Wirt sich unser annahm; gut, wir waren im Urlaub und hatten Zeit. Der Service war aber weiterhin mangelhaft: Erst wurde die falsche Vorspeise serviert, dann das Besteck nicht mitgeliefert, um den Espresso mussten wir zweimal bitten - das macht keine Freude. Das Essen war guter Durchschnitt.
08/06/2025: Locale sicuramente carino, ottimi piatti, ben preparati e curati, peccato che il cameriere serve come fossimo in una pizzeria, senza dare importanza a quello che servono. Chiedo di aprire il vino, sotto intendendo poi il servizio, ma qui no, aperto e rimesso nel secchio del ghiaccio, poi c’è lo siamo servito noi. Fra una portata e l’alta non si sono degnati di farsi vedere per comandare un vino adatto alle seconde portate (qui anche poco furbi e commercianti) , alla fine ti promettono un digestivo…. Sto aspettando ancora adesso ☹️. Usciti dal ristorante, neanche un saluto da parte dei gerenti. In generale, in diversi ristoranti e locali comunque, servizio scadente, approssimativo e poco personale.
