14/10/2025: A welcoming, homey atmosphere, very friendly staff. I made a reservation for the second sitting at 9:30 PM; the place was packed (which gives me hope). The pumpkin tortelli with butter and sage were very good, though the portions were a bit small. For my second course, I ordered the musso with polenta: the donkey meat was a bit bland and not very tender, a bit of a disappointment. A bottle of mineral water, 1/4 of the house Lambrusco, and coffee were included. Total cost: €48. The prices are clearly displayed on the menu, but in my opinion, they're a far cry from the prices of a typical osteria/trattoria. It's my first time dining in Mantua, and I don't know the average prices for other restaurants, but I wasn't entirely satisfied. Given the osteria's reputation, I expected more.

14/10/2025: I spotted Bice a year ago when I was in Mantua for a wedding, and I promised myself I'd go next time I was in the city! The chicken figurines decorating the restaurant are truly charming 🐔❤️ The dishes are quite generous and very good, the plating is thoughtful but unpretentious, appropriate for the type of place. The location is quiet, even though it's close to a main road. I found the service a bit aloof, but above all, inattentive and slow. We were the first to arrive for lunch, which was fortunate, but we still had to wait up to half an hour between courses, while customers who arrived after us waited even longer simply to order. The service organization needs revising. It's a shame about the toilets.

The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. The food was delicious and of high quality. We will definitely be back. The owner's dog was so sweet🥰

29/09/2025: A wonderful experience at this historic Osteria. The room was new, functional, and spacious, with excellent linens. The bathroom was very spacious, with top-quality towels. The dinner was excellent, and the ingredients were exceptional. The outdoor setting is very pleasant, with a pool and a well-kept lawn. The owner was wonderful, as were all the staff. We'll definitely be back.

14/10/2025: It was my first time at this restaurant, and I have to say my friends and I were pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of the fried gnocco, which wasn't greasy at all, and the light tigelle, which were like clouds. I've never eaten so well anywhere. The sauces and cold cuts were also very good. The staff was friendly and the service was very fast! Generous portions and reasonable prices. The place is very clean and welcoming. Highly recommended!

12/10/2025: I discovered this restaurant by chance, but it's definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had: the artisanal pasta—all delicious, but I personally love the pasta dishes—and the meticulous care put into every dish are an absolute pleasure. Add to this the warm welcome and kindness of the family who have run the restaurant for half a century, a priceless added value that makes you feel pampered like family.

01/10/2025: The best ravioli in the last 20 years!!! Shoulder and prunes with figs and pancetta ;) AMAZING!!! FABULOUS!!! DELICIOUS!!! Really!!! Also the green tortelloni, the fried catfish, and the stewed snails with polenta! Everything was truly GOOD!!! Welcoming place and very kind staff. Convenient parking nearby. Average prices. Best to book. We'll definitely be back! ;) WELL DONE!!!

20/09/2025: Tonight we had the (great) pleasure of dining at Ginen. We'd never been before. A genuine welcome from Barbara and her wonderful ladies, Anna and Vittoria. Appetizers included fried gnocco and gras pista. Ravioli with plums and figs, pumpkin tortelli with butter and sage, macaroni with donkey stew, and pancetta roll with plums and quinces. To finish: an excellent tiramisu and a splendid Coppa Eleonora. I've never had a better meal!!! Kudos to Chef Cristian. It's so much more than MasterChef! There's so much knowledge and love here!!! Plus, the chef even came over to say hello despite the room being full. What can I say... Over the Top!!!

29/06/2025: The ideal restaurant for a couple's dinner. It ranges from 'cacio e pepe' to 'ramen', a mix of Italian and oriental cuisine, all accompanied by a wide selection of fine wines. A warm and welcoming environment embellished by a beautiful wall bookcase that makes the atmosphere a bit similar to that of a literary café. There are also tables outside. Convenient parking spaces on the street. (it is an internal road with no traffic at all). The bill is really honest.

16/10/2025: I had trusted the many positive reviews, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. Perhaps the chef wasn't in good shape, but the horse stew was terrible, with a slice of cold, tasteless polenta underneath. The trio of first courses, which included riso pilota, tortelli amari with butter and sage, and angolocino al ragù, were the only redeeming features. A shame; again, perhaps the chef was having a bad night. Impeccable service.

13/10/2025: Here you can find dishes from the true Mantuan tradition, on the other hand the place has existed for a long time and there must be a reason... The service is a little slow but it's worth waiting a bit, it probably depends on the fact that they prepare the dishes freshly made and are not frozen and reheated. The environment is small and you need to book but it offers an informal atmosphere where even customers feel at ease and relax. The agnoli in broth that I ordered are truly handmade, like grandma's. Honest prices. I highly recommend the bignolata as sweet, amazing, with that Marsala zabaglione it is memorable!

12/07/2025: Run by young people, it's welcoming and clean. The Piedmontese cooked ham and the 30-month-old S.Ilario prosciutto are very good. The beef slices are delicious. Attentive and courteous service. The bill is reasonable.
