06/05/2025: TERRIBLE!!!! Nothing to recommend it. Service is terrible, restaurant has not been thoroughly updated since its inception, the food was awful! The carbonara with polenta were just slopped on the plate seemingly from a large spoon - neither had flavor or texture to recommend them. The grilled vegetables consisted of 2 pieces of thin eggplant and 6 slices of zucchini without any salt for herbs or anything. The menu is the same as it is in virtually every Mantuan restaurant. Avoid this one. Apparently they thrive on hotels recommending them. Find a better place.

24/05/2025: Old-fashioned place, but welcoming. We had lunch outside and it was very very nice. Classic Mantuan cuisine with some revisited dishes. Everything was delicious.

08/05/2025: We will certainly return to this small family-run restaurant. We found the dishes of the Mantuan culinary tradition (on and off the menu), the environment perhaps needs a bit of sprucing up, however very informal and welcoming and the courtyard is also really nice, but unfortunately we didn't have the chance to have lunch outdoors. The prices are honest. The staff is kind and precise, even if at the end of the service they exaggerated a little with singing at the top of their lungs which literally prevented us from having a few words with our guests... perhaps it was a polite invitation to leave. The only other flaw is that there are practically no vegetarian options and totally no vegan options.

19/05/2025: Veniamo tutti gli anni a Mantova da Roma e tutti gli anni mangiamo al Leoncino Rosso perché è buono come pochi altri posti a Mantova, con prezzi più che onesti, personale simpaticissimo, posizionato al centro della città, e con tante proposte vegetariane nel menù. I dolci sono una cosa pazzesca. Non cambiate mai che siete stupendi

The food is typical of the Mantuan tradition, excellent both in flavors that remind me of my childhood and in the size of the portions. Worth mentioning are the bread, schiacciate and schiacciatine as a cover and the desserts really special and not too sugary. To return

03/12/2024: Erano più di vent'anni - abitando in tutt'altra parte d'Italia - che non ci tornavo: si mangia sempre più che bene in un luogo di grande suggestione, non devastato da autostrade, capannoni come gran parte della Val Padana (staccato o tutto attaccato?).

But here it is precisely the "doing" of a restaurant and even a starred one in which you find yourself immersed. Although the quality of the dishes is little reminiscent of classic trattorias, much less the wines. The service is far too over the top with false immodesty. Stop only if forced.

28/04/2025: Cena del 26 aprile con la moglie. Selezione di salumi mantovani, culatta di Busseto con giardiniera, bigoli al torchio, agnoli mantovani burro e salvia, un dolce locale-Helvezia. Tutto eccellente, sia la materia prima sia la preparazione delle portate. Locale caratteristico, servizio perfetto. Complimenti, suggerisco di prenotare.
