13/03/2026: A business lunch with colleagues! We were seated immediately, two very good Borlenghi arrived, and the service was excellent and attentive!! Both the daily menu and the à la carte menu!! Good wine and desserts that tempted us... We'll definitely be back.

08/02/2026: The best Italian restaurant I frequented in 2002-2003, where I truly tasted the best Italian pasta dishes and the soufflé cooked in olive oil accompanied by prosciutto di Parma, something I've never tasted anywhere else, even while traveling in other countries. I would go back.
01/02/2026: A historic Modena restaurant, I ate there for the first time over 40 years ago. The first courses and crescentine are always excellent.

10/02/2026: We went to this place for lunch two weeks ago. We had a good meal, and the portions were generous. The staff was very kind and attentive. However, there are a couple of "flaws" for me. First, our table was located under the stairs, so people were walking up and down above us, which was honestly not pleasant due to the noise and the fact that, if you looked, there were some cobwebs that, with the movement, could have landed on our plates along with any dust 😳. Second, the place was a bit cold, but maybe that's just our habit. We like to relax when we eat, and both of these points hindered that a bit. Anyway, recommended, perhaps in spring and at a different table.

28/06/2025: Ristorante molto accogliente ed elegante con personale gentile e discreto. Il culatello (24 e 36 mesi) veramente speciale ( da bis) e tortelli di erbette con burro fuso e parmigiano ottimi così come il dolce Patrizia per completare in dolcezza un ottimo pranzo. Grazie ad Alessandro per la gentilissima accoglienza per un pranzo veramente molto apprezzato da ripetere senza alcun dubbio.

21/02/2026: Always a guarantee. Everything is good, nothing excluded. Clear choice of daily menu and à la carte. If you like Fortsna del Taro as an aperitif: a great wine that is only produced in the area. Always a must when passing through Parma. P.S. The bread is a sublime delight; I'd say it's the best in the last three years. But where is that baker? Even the bread itself tells the story of a restaurant's quality.

27/11/2025: We dined at Calcagno with our family and found the food to be excellent, with attentive and appropriate preparation for our two-year-old, courteous staff, and a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. We were also treated to a delicious entrée and a truly superb digestif (a spoonful of sugar)! The price is a bit high, but given the many positives, it's worth it every now and then.

16/02/2026: Classic traditional Reggio Emilia place with a good variety of first and second courses, including vegetarian ones. The service girls are very good and fast. Everything is fine, I would say, apart from the background noise. We were in a small room with about fifteen people and it was difficult to talk to the person next door.
15/02/2026: The food was okay, no complaints. Definitely avoid the gnocco and tigelle. The four of us ordered 15 tigelle, five pieces of gnocco and cured meats, a bottle of wine, two appetizers, and two chizze, for a total of over €100. The problem was the cured meats. For 20 pieces of gnocco and tigelle, they charged us €48 for a cured meat platter, which was absolutely out of line, and the quality was also very poor. Really bad.

12/02/2026: Stopped by with a friend on a Saturday for lunch. The owner was incredibly helpful in finding us a table even though we hadn't booked. The place immediately evokes the feel of a 1970s club. Despite everything, the tables are set with impeccable professionalism. The cuisine is the same as it used to be, as we used to eat at our grandparents' house on holidays. The dishes are tasty but well-proportioned, neither minute nor overdone. A must-try is the cart of fantastic boiled meats; watching them arrive reveals the quality of the ingredients, accompanied by succulent sauces and pickled vegetables, also reminiscent of past flavors. The Lambrusco is one of those dark ones that stain the glass. The price is standard for Reggio Emilia, but it's not cheap. The service is attentive and meticulous.
07/02/2026: Title: EMBARRASSMENT AND CRAZY PRICES. RUN AWAY. Review: I strongly advise against this place to anyone who doesn't want to be ripped off. There were eight of us here and we paid €43 each, an outrageous sum for the service we received. The lack of transparency was total: we weren't given a menu, a tactic clearly designed to hide the prices before the bill. The appetizer was an insult: €20 per person for a ridiculous little plate with three slices of prosciutto, two of salami, and two of coppa, plus some mortadella and parmesan in the center of the table. Paying €160 for appetizers alone for such a paltry amount is madness that can't be justified in any restaurant in the area. The wine management was also terrible: two bottles of Lambrusco were served already opened (a totally unfair practice) and had an undrinkable iron-like taste. The worst moment was at the register: after we complained about the price of our appetizer, the manager tried to give us €40 back in cash to settle the matter. A pitiful gesture that confirms their bad faith: they knew full well they'd inflated the bill, hoping we wouldn't say anything.

28/02/2026: If you're passing through Bologna and want an authentic, no-frills Emilian experience, you absolutely must stop by Polpette e Crescentine. We started with a selection of appetizers that could only be described as generous. The baskets of crescentine and tigelle arrived hot and fragrant, perfect paired with a platter of excellent cured meats and a truly refined selection of cheeses, including the Pecorino Perla Nera and Caciotta di Monteveglio, served with honey. The real highlight of the appetizers, however, was the incredibly soft mortadella mousse and the creamy squacquerone, which pairs perfectly with the warm crescentine. We couldn't miss out on the Modena pesto, and for pure indulgence, we added the fried tortellini: a true revelation, crispy on the outside and flavorful in the middle, so delicious you can't wait to try them again. For the first course, I went for the classic tagliatelle with Bolognese ragù. The pasta was clearly fresh, with just the right texture to hold the flavorful ragù, cooked slowly as tradition dictates. It truly tastes like home. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff makes you feel immediately at ease. It's the ideal place if you're looking for the substance and authentic flavors of Bolognese cuisine. We'll definitely be back to try the meatballs!
22/02/2026: Greasy and heavy crescentine, terrible meatballs (and thank goodness it's called that!) Desserts? Packaged Cameo cake passed off as tenerina, and if you really want to have fun, try the mascarpone! Tap water charged as if it were bottled, and the place is noisy and dirty. I'll spare you the comment about the bathrooms, which are better. Last but not least... as mentioned in other reviews, the price is too high for the low quality. Never again!
