Shocking to say the least... don't say people don't go out to eat, but this class of restaurant deserves it, having an empty restaurant, charging a baby just because we asked for a high chair, and it's bubbly to see the cover charge on the receipt. You're the best... Leaving aside this detail, let's move on to the food. Raw gramiglia pasta still with the nail on it. Green tortelli soaked in butter. Frozen fried gnocchi. Grilled meat, stale chicken. (We left it in the pan, so when it comes back into the kitchen, I'll ask myself a couple of questions as a chef.) Another key point, since you have refrigerators in the garden, use a rag to wipe away the 3.5 kg of dust where you put the bottles. The open bowl of Grana Padano cheese with the Mosca attached in the fridge. The restaurant outside (due to poor service)... Terrible experience.

05/07/2026: Last night for dinner, I went for gnocco and tigelle, and aside from the draft beer, which was a bit washed out, nothing to complain about. Overall, it was a smooth experience. Since I was still itching to try the grilled meat after seeing the menu, I went back for lunch today with my grandfather. They offered us the pasta of the day, testaccioli with black truffle. Nothing special... and considering we paid €12 for them when truffle rice was €10, it seemed like a bit of a rip-off, especially since they didn't taste much like truffle and were very dry, so much so that I asked for oil to make them less sticky. I also asked for a medium/rare rib steak. After an hour, they still hadn't served it, so much so that the waitress came to ask if we were finished... After another 15 minutes, they brought us the rib steak, already sliced ​​and overcooked... I sent it back and they told me they were out of rib steaks. I tell him I'll have a fillet then... they tell me they've run out... the bottom line is that we don't eat anything else, and we sat down from 12:30 until 2:30 to eat a starter and side dish, baked potatoes, and a steak we'd never eaten... to accommodate us, the manager discounts us a quarter of the red wine, which we didn't finish because we'd never eaten meat... and a bottle of water that had been ordered for the meat, after the first drink with the pasta, but never consumed... The owner at the cash register jokes that if surgeons make mistakes, they can make mistakes too... surgeons perform complicated operations, anyone can do a rare steak... If I were a surgeon, I'd be pissed off... Honestly, for the meat in Bosco, I'll go somewhere else... not too far away. Terrible experience.
20/06/2026: Everything was delicious, the fried dumplings were amazing, not greasy and very light, the beef was very tender, the dessert was fresh, we really had a great time and we will be back 😍

18/05/2026: This restaurant was recommended to us while we were passing through Castelnovo ne Monti. The atmosphere was quiet (until two guys at one table listened to their nephew's entire piano recital on their phones at high volume 🤭). We ordered three side dishes, a main course, and a bottle of water, and we paid a lot for what we ate. It's a shame we found out too late that one of the side dishes was double-billed and that the cover charge was exorbitant! I was disappointed with this experience, because overall, what I ate was good.
17/05/2026: I had lunch here and had a truly positive experience. The restaurant is well-kept, with a rustic and welcoming atmosphere and professional yet friendly service. The quality of the dishes is immediately apparent: fresh ingredients, well-balanced flavors. The menu is also very interesting, showcasing traditional dishes. The wine list is excellent, well-stocked and consistent with the cuisine. A restaurant that stands out in the Castelnovo ne' Monti area and I recommend it both for a break from the hustle and bustle and for more special occasions. It's definitely a place I'd return to.

I went there by chance today with my partner and son.... traditional menu, and all the dishes were a success.... quality, flavors, and quantity were all perfect.... it's probably the best traditional restaurant I've ever been to. The tortelli verdi deserve an award.... the gnocco fritto were a spectacle, the food was so good!!!! Wide and refined wine selection.... very fair prices, and considering the ingredients, a great deal!!!! The host was attentive and kind! We'll definitely be back!!!! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

06/04/2026: With the wait times between the appetizer and the main courses, we arrived at Christmas lunch, unjustified especially given the cover charge (4.50). You expect excellent service, but that wasn't the case. There were mix-ups with the orders; more attention should be paid or the service needs to be reconsidered. The food was also good, but the wait didn't increase our appetite, only the desire to move to the bar next door.

The man refused to bring the appetizers first, saying that the gnocco was served as a second course. Confused, we accepted. After a long hour of waiting, the first courses arrived. Shortly afterward, the fried gnocco for two people was accompanied (unsolicited) by tigelle and stracchino cheese. Only after paying the bill did we discover that the appetizer cost 42 euros, more than the three first courses combined. We were also charged for the unsolicited one, and the price was not even mentioned. You can't give a good review to someone who tries to steal your money.

07/06/2026: A tourist trap, with rude and gossipy staff. The first thing that catches your eye are the prices: €17-19 for appetizers and first courses, €25 for second courses, and €7-8 for desserts. We're almost at Michelin-starred levels, so we expect excellent quality. Instead, swimming in butter, seven small tortelli arrive. The filling is good, but on the same plate, some are overcooked and others border on undercooked. This suggests a lack of attention during cooking, or worse, a pastry rolled out to varying thicknesses. Off the menu are "golden" frogs: the proverb says even a ciabatta is good when fried, but for €25, we expected something better than just eight frog legs per person. For dessert, let's listen carefully! From the kitchen door, we can hear the voices of the housewives gossiping about a customer's outfit. One of the cooks even casually walks out, glances at the tables, and reenters the kitchen giggling, amidst the laughter of her colleagues. Finally, the digestif: the waitress warns the kitchen staff that the customer whose dress they're denigrating has celiac disease. Another roar of laughter and snide comments. This is definitely not the case.
02/06/2026: It's always a pleasure to return to this trattoria in the Parma countryside, which never fails to uphold its historic tradition. And the traditional dishes are a strong point, thanks to the quality of the ingredients and their preparation: cured meats (the shoulder cooked with mustard is a must), traditional tortelli, but also meats like roasted pork shoulder, and snails à la bourgogne. Finally, the homemade desserts are always delicious. The service is friendly and professional. In short, it's an experience definitely worth the trip.
