01/12/2025: We stayed here for 3 nights in November 2025. While the building and setting are beautiful, our experience staying here was very inconsistent and we ultimately wouldn’t recommend it. Most of front desk staff was very helpful and kind: they answered our questions, helped us make a few lunch and dinner reservations in the area, and tried to fix the issues with our room. However, service/hospitality was inconsistent and generally disappointing. Upon arrival, the person who checked us in gave us no information about the hotel or any services except for the daily breakfast window (this could have also been a language barrier as we do not speak Italian). Despite multiple people at the front desk, no one offered to help with our luggage. The parking lot is a few minute walk from the check in area down a gravel road, and our room was up three flights of stairs. About our day into our stay, we noticed what looked like a service elevator, and it was unclear if it was usable/open to guests, since no one mentioned it to us. We were also celebrating a special occasion and notified the management team twice prior to our arrival, and they did not say or do anything to acknowledge it, which would have been such an easy way to make our stay special. The we booked their “standard” room, which was pretty basic, but the room was not well maintained or super clean (we stayed in the Abati/Abbot’s Room). The safe was dysfunctional (the front desk did bring in a replacement on the last day of our stay). The bathroom was particularly bad. There were cobwebs around the shower in easy to reach places and dirt/grime on the windowsills. Our shower leaked and flooded the bathroom floor every time it was used, so each day we needed to use multiple towels to dry the floor. The front desk was aware of this and helped by giving us fresh towels but to our knowledge, never brought in a maintenance worker to fix the issue during our stay. Given that there were only 2-3 other guests during our three days there, it would have made a difference if they offered to change our room. While this hotel has so much potential, our visit was mediocre at best, and we do not recommend staying here.

11/11/2025: I could basically replicate Mr. Tiziano's review from a month ago... it's part of the service that took 22 minutes before anyone asked us if we wanted the wine list and what we'd like to eat. Of everything served, I found the mortadella and the filling very good, the spugnolata memorable, and the beef amazing even though its appearance would have led one to believe otherwise. Everything else wasn't exciting, including the erbazzone with filling, which is delicious, but the pasta used to make it was dry and tasteless... obviously, eating badly is a whole other story, but honestly, I don't think I'd return. On a positive note, the wine list is practically like the Divine Comedy, and the prices seemed very fair to me.

21/10/2025: Characterful and welcoming atmosphere near the Soragna fortress. They offer top-notch cuisine, and they never miss a beat. Excellent value for money, and friendly, family-friendly service. Anolini, tagliatelle with mushrooms, two pairs of tortelli, tripe and fried mushrooms, zuppa inglese, and homemade cakes, along with coffee, nocino, and bargnolino liqueur.

02/11/2025: A beautiful new location, meticulously maintained down to the smallest detail. Amazing cuisine...from the cured meats to the first course, and finally, the excellent dessert. All in the finest Parma tradition. Highly recommended.

18/10/2025: From the name, I expected an Emilian trattoria famous for its cappelletti in brodo, but instead it's a super restaurant in a period building, and I felt a little uncomfortable. The cappelletti in brodo are excellent.

15/10/2025: Dinner for my wife's birthday, and as always, it was a perfect fit. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. I had flowers delivered for my wife, and they were carefully and elegantly arranged in a vase at the table.
