05/01/2025: Too bad, good food, except for the baked artichokes, with the hard leaves around them, but terrible service and hospitality. Waiter, with red hair to make it clear who he is, unkind, annoyed and hasty. In a place where you still pay quite a bit and is one of the most renowned in Bologna, you shouldn't think that even if you always have a full house, you can afford such a low level of service.

22/12/2024: Locale molto carino e ben arredato, che si sviluppa ampiamente all’interno. Tavoli nella sala interna ben distanziati, forse un po’ piccoli, ma , ovviamente , capisco l’esigenza di sfruttare gli spazi il più possibile! Personale carinissimo, cortese, preparato ed attento ( la ragazza che ci ha servito è stata davvero perfetta!). Pur essendo tutti i camerieri molto giovani, sono davvero preparati ed attenti al cliente! Cibo di buona qualità. Noi abbiamo preso antipasto di formaggi e marmellate (buono) ed antipasto di salumi (mortadella ottima) , galletto cotto a bassa temperatura ( tenero e cotto perfettamente) , polpettine al sugo ( buone) e tomino con verdure (buono) . Unica pecca le patate al forno, che erano davvero secche ed evidentemente cucinate diverse ore prima….le eliminerei dal menù… Conto assolutamente nella media e corretto. Piacevole serata!

19/12/2024: Siamo stati in questo ristorante in centro a Bologna e vedendo le recensioni e le foto di qualcuno non ero molto propenso, ma invece si è mangiato bene. Buoni gli antipasti e la qualità dei salumi (in particolare la mortadella) ottimi i primi che dalle foto delle altre recensioni avevo sottovalutato. Una nota particolare alla gentilezza del servizio di tutto il personale in sala, mi ha colpito nello specifico l’educazione e la gentilezza di una delle ragazze che aveva dei modi così garbati (quasi d’altri tempi), voto 10! P.S. Mi scuso per la foto, ma l’ho fatta a fine piatto perché quando un piatto è buono, bisogna mangiarlo e gustarlo e non fotografarlo per poi mangiarlo freddo!

20/12/2024: This establishment sets the gold standard for accommodation and fine dining. It is a family run business in the mountains of Grizzana south of Bologna in Italy. During my four day stay I experienced superb original Italian food prepared by Norma and served by Beppe. Nothing was too much trouble, The ambiance was superb, with original decor and contemporary music. The accommodation was very comfortable and warm with quality fittings, tv and a well equipped bathroom. Prices were reasonable for the standard set. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

05/12/2024: We wanted to try it even though they didn't speak very well about it. We tried the fish, even though we are a little far from the sea the "owner" told us that it arrives fresh every day, even if the delivery times didn't convince me very much. There were 6 of us, we took the whole first course (measly portions), 3 second courses, 2 desserts, 2 bottles of wine (from €20) total €60 each, it seemed like a mistake in fact they won't see us again.... Who doesn't accept criticism is not a serious independent professional whether he has a profile photo or not. First 200g? Yes with the whole dish🤣😂🤣

26/12/2024: We had a lunch halfway between us coming from Prato and friends coming from Pesaro. The menu presents itself well, rich and plentiful, but the misunderstanding regarding the reservation (the canceled table of 11 was the same as ours, but we had not requested the fixed menu) created a bit of confusion in the dining room and in the kitchen and pushed us to choose more or less all the same things. The passatelli in broth were good but the broth was a little salty, as was the Bolognese cutlet. That's why we ordered a lot of still water and with every order the owner snorted. He seemed to be looking forward to leaving, also because his thoughts were on the upcoming Bologna match. Also, the room was quite cold and when it emptied and we were left, it was very cold. Maybe putting fewer things on the menu would help solve any staff shortage problems. The welcome was not "typically" Bolognese. The fried creams are delicious!

11/01/2025: Ho scelto di festeggiare il mio compleanno con una cena, e su consiglio di diverse persone ho optato per l'Osteria Fantoni. Devo dire che l'esperienza è stata davvero piacevole. Sin da subito, sono rimasta colpita dalla cordialità del personale. Un esempio che mi ha particolarmente colpita è stato quando i camerieri si sono offerti di mettere il mio bouquet di rose rosse in un vaso per mantenerle fresche, un gesto premuroso e tutt'altro che scontato. Il cibo è stato eccellente: tutti abbiamo ordinato un primo, e le porzioni erano così abbondanti da non sentire il bisogno di aggiungere antipasti o secondi. Per concludere la serata, ho scelto di far preparare da loro la torta di compleanno: una tenerina semplicemente deliziosa, perfetta per l’occasione. Sono stata davvero bene e consiglio vivamente l'Osteria Fantoni per qualsiasi occasione, che sia un pranzo informale con un'amica o una festa di laurea o compleanno.

29/12/2024: Every now and then I return to this ancient trattoria, where the environment and spirit that distinguished Bolognese trattorias still remain. Everyone was very kind, the food was very good and mostly homemade, excellent value for money. Roast beef always excellent. I hope it stays that way for a long time to come
