Dinner was perfect, breakfast included and the room was comfortable and clean. If you’re seeking authentic Italian hospitality go straight to Hotel Belvedere - we only wish we could have stayed longer xx

11/12/2025: The hotel is located in a fairly remote area from the city center, yet the sea is nearby, visible from the panoramic views. Resembling a gigantic, low-rise farmhouse, renovated both inside and out, it boasts vast surrounding spaces that include a huge parking area, a beautiful swimming pool with solarium, a large perimeter patio with a large gazebo providing shade for tables and chairs, and just 23-26 guest rooms inside, plus a lobby with a small restaurant attached, kitchens, ground-floor bathrooms, and access to a basement level that leads to another restaurant adjacent to a disco/dance hall. The rooms are very intimate and spacious, all with windows, and airy in size, including the equally large and welcoming bathrooms (with sinks, bidets, and showers, but very few amenities: there are no towel hangers, for example, which are forced onto the vertical radiators), compared to other service areas in three-star hotels like this one! During this pre-Christmas period, the hotel is beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and lights, creating a festive atmosphere for the upcoming holidays. Mrs. Marcella, I believe the young owner or manager of the property, is very dynamic and "quick" in providing information and clarifications on internal regulations, as well as instructions and practical assistance to the staff: cooks, chefs, waiters, and the subordinate staff assigned to various tasks and cleaning, who are truly excellent. In short, given the fairly affordable prices of the packages offered for the weekend and for the Immaculate Conception long weekend, overall it was a pleasant mini-vacation, some for two or some for three days spread over half-board. This would encourage us to return for short periods, if only because you need a car to get to the center of Agropoli or the neighboring villages such as Santa Maria di Castellabbate, or Paestum, Capaccio, etc., in the heart of Cilento.

04/10/2025: This is most likely the first time I've written a review, and I do so with anger because I find so much superficiality and so many people who, professionally speaking, are indecent. Even on the very first occasions, I noticed some rather questionable behavior from the receptionists. You can't expect an immediate response, after a trial (obviously paid €18.00), from a 4-year-and-5-month-old girl at her swimming lessons. We asked for a few days to truly understand our daughter's feedback, but we were told: "If you accept now, we'll deduct the €18 from your monthly fee (€45.00), otherwise you'll have to pay the full monthly fee." Absurd! How can I truly understand the outcome from a little girl who's just over 4 years old?!? But even more absurd is paying a monthly fee of €45.00 and guaranteeing only four admissions in the relevant month... in September, the child had the flu, used three admissions, and on the fourth, went to the beach. Absurd! Today I saw confirmation of the lack of professionalism and, above all, the lack of sensitivity towards a child who is not even 5 years old! I forgot to book on the app, and when I went to reception to pay the monthly fee and to point out that I hadn't booked, I was told: "You pay me the monthly fee but come back on Monday." When I asked to make an exception, considering that I'm not going to the pool but a 4-year-and-5-month-old girl who has been saying for days "I can't wait to go," without any explanation, I was told again: "Pay now and come on Monday." I would have liked an explanation as to why they couldn't make an exception to the rule, considering that the child has already been to the pool three times in September. Obviously, they won't see me again because, in my opinion, flexibility and sensitivity when it comes to children always come first, before turnover and operational management. Terrible front-office staff! From my badge, I can see that Conad Superstore is the main partner... in this case, the famous tagline "people over things" is completely off the mark! 02/05/2026: I'm changing my review from 4 to 2 stars. Quality has dropped dramatically over the years. The portions are paltry, but they're still charged like they used to. Looking at photos from previous years and today's dishes, there's nothing similar. The house appetizer was paltry. I remember there were hot and cold dishes, but now it's just 2 shellfish, a bit of seafood salad, and the usual black rice that's left on the plate (€18). The first courses are seafood, but the seafood was still seafood-based (€14/16). The fried food was good, but 2 prawns, a handful of calamari, and a few anchovies were lost on the plate (€16). I'm so sorry. I hope they go back to the way they were back when we used to travel 100km to eat there.

13/05/2026: The rating (only one star) might seem contradictory to the three-star rating given to the rooms, service, and cleanliness; but there's a valid reason, or rather two. 1. The breakfast is absolutely not up to par with a 4-star hotel. Limited variety, no toaster or grill to warm bread (moreover, only mini-sandwiches of questionable quality are available), little fresh fruit (and not always available during breakfast hours). Another sore point concerns the selection of sweets: is it possible—given the location (Amalfi Coast)—to limit themselves to offering "industrial" pastries and croissants, to be heated on the spot, and pre-packaged cakes? I think it wouldn't take much to reach an agreement with a local pastry shop (which is also just a few meters from the hotel) to offer fresh products. 2. The biggest disappointment, however, came at checkout: the tourist tax was also applied to children under 14, despite having been pointed out that the municipality does not provide for its application. Faced with their insistence, we paid but—unrelenting—recalled a few hours later, providing the municipal provision to prove it. Moral of the story: rather than admit their mistake, they made untenable excuses (we didn't know...we weren't up to date...even the property next door—which also includes the mayor of the town among its managers (so we were told) wasn't aware of this "exemption" from payment...). The sum—16 euros, nothing out of the ordinary—was refunded to us, but what was unacceptable was the superficiality and, above all, the arrogant attitude of the reception staff. Dear Attorney, Having noted the promptness with which you responded to a review of your property, I have a doubt: if your hotel desk clerk had been equally prompt in verifying the situation, perhaps we would have avoided this unpleasant incident? But no: in addition to the reasons given to us (which I mentioned in my previous post), we were also told, "...well, you told me the tax wasn't due for children under 14, but you could have told me that donkeys can fly..." The sentence speaks for itself. Regarding the comment regarding the quality of breakfast: when we got up from the table on Sunday morning and didn't find any croissants or pastries available, the response from one of the service staff was (exactly): "Yes, yes, they're baking them in the oven, they'll be here in a few minutes." This is indicative of a frozen dish that, from the freezer, ended up in the oven... Nothing further to add about the hotel's chefs, their 10 years of business, or your professional honesty. I base my opinion on the hospitality we were offered over the past two days and on objective events—see the tourist tax. That a (4-star) hotel in one of the most renowned areas of Italy doesn't know when it's required to collect the tourist tax...again, if I may say so, I don't think there's anything to add. PS: The anger and rancor with which you addressed my review are, I believe, entirely subjective. I have not railed against anyone or offended anyone's actions. 02/05/2026: The tree is beautiful, a truly evocative structure. Recently renovated, it has spacious rooms and a restaurant/breakfast terrace with a breathtaking view. I'm only giving it 2 stars because of the very poor cleanliness of the rooms and the meager, limited breakfast. It's a shame because the structure deserves so much.
