The fried chicken is simply special: crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, prepared with care and flavor just like in days gone by. Generous portions, a welcoming atmosphere, and a genuine feel that makes you feel right at home. A place you'll always want to return to.

04/03/2026: Excellent food, a place worth visiting for its decades-old tradition. We enjoyed the excellent strascinat with broccoli, cod, and kraut peppers, and we couldn't miss the traditional chicken frish-tak. Recommended.

28/08/2025: The old mill is in a charming location, near the river and surrounded by a green beech forest. Guests are greeted by the owners' smiles and professionalism. The interior rooms are small but charming and well-furnished, with stone and wood predominating. Weather permitting, as was the case yesterday, you can dine at the tables set outside, listening to the soothing sounds of running water and the rustling of the wind through the trees. Once seated, a profusion of hot and cold appetizers begins, along with typical cheeses and cured meats, minestra 'mpastata (potato and potato soup), frittata with Senise crusc-chi peppers, grilled eggplant, olives, and slices of ribbed tomatoes topped with burrata. The first courses follow, strascinati di misc-chigghio topped with cherry tomatoes (indescribable goodness), ravioli with ricotta and creamed asparagus with crispy pancetta. A new taste to my palate, but heavenly. The meats are truly top-notch, a Florentine T-bone steak masterfully cooked rare, a grilled suckling pig as tender as butter. All washed down with excellent wine. All this at a very fair price and excellent value. We finish the meal with coffee and liqueurs kindly offered by the owners. Thanks to Rossella and Mauro.

24/08/2025: A wonderful experience at Mulino Corona Longa! The restaurant, a renovated old mill surrounded by greenery and next to a stream, is truly charming. The typical Lucanian dishes are excellent: from the appetizer of cured meats and cheeses to the lamb soffritto, which particularly impressed me. The service was impeccable: the owner was kind, attentive, and attentive even to the needs of the little ones. The quality-price ratio was fair. Recommended for those who love traditional cuisine and nature. One piece of advice: pay attention to the sign on the road, because the GPS doesn't exactly take you to the right place.

19/10/2025: We stayed here twice in early December 2024, and we had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was casual and clean, the food excellent, and the traditional Lucanian cuisine "just like it used to be." Michele and his entire family are wonderful people! They helped us organize a birthday party, and his wife even made us a spectacular ricotta cake! Thanks again for everything!

More than excellent, in fact excellent, more than fresh products and truly made with love, they remind me of my grandmother's cooking 😍 here and really you have to try and have to return, because believe me you can't do without it!! 29/03/2026: Truly beautiful place (exposed brick vaults), very well decorated! Special dishes served in delicious little pans! All the little samples! Chicken livers, tripe and potatoes, seafood salad, pickled pumpkin, cod with cruschi peppers, shrimp in pink sauce, and a platter of local cured meats! Then there's the pizza with very refined ingredients... like pistachio cream!!!! The dough is truly excellent! The house Aglianico wine is exquisite! Among the desserts, the ricotta cream with salted caramel stands out! A place to try at least once in your life!

15/02/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant located in the evocative Policoro Castle, a truly captivating setting that makes the experience even more special. The soft lighting and intimate atmosphere create an elegant and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a quiet evening with friends. The cuisine is top-notch: the fish is incredibly fresh, and the quality of the ingredients is immediately apparent. The dishes are carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and rich in flavor, with a perfect balance between tradition and creativity. Each course was a pleasant discovery. An added bonus is definitely the owner, always kind, helpful, and attentive to the needs of his guests, who puts them at ease from the moment they arrive.

17/11/2025: I spent a lovely evening with my future in-laws and family over pizza 🍕🍕 to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday, and it was my first time at this wonderful and welcoming restaurant. Everything was excellent, including the staff.

17/02/2026: My partner and I spent a couple of nights here while visiting Matera. The property is family-run and staffed by kind and professional people, who also provided us with useful information about visiting the city. The room was well-appointed with a desk and refrigerator. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and we could easily adjust the temperature (we didn't experience any problems with cold, humidity, or mold, as I've read in other reviews). The breakfast (we requested vegan breakfast in advance) was delicious, and we also appreciated the variety of organic products. I recommend it both for its location in the center of the Sassi of Matera and because the experience of sleeping in a cave is a must!

21/01/2026: The rooms are quaint and typical of the area. Each room tells a story of who once lived there. For those who are used to it, there's no TV in these rooms—at least mine! Which makes everything more authentic.

18/01/2026: Terrible experience. Dinner in the cold, almost freezing, and a decidedly high bill. I'd been here a while ago and had a great time: the food was good, and each dish was carefully explained. This evening, however, was a completely different story. The dishes were brought out quickly, as if it were "eat if you're hungry," with no explanation of the dishes. Plus, almost everything tasted only of spices. The result was a heavy, acidic stomach... we'll see how the night goes. Even reading the reviews lately, the quality seems to have deteriorated. I definitely won't be back. After such a high bill, you made me feel like a real idiot 🫏😂
