Rustic atmosphere. Not all tables are well-positioned. Service is snobbish. The platter was excellent, but the first courses were overcooked and tasteless. Perhaps this is a better place for meat. The prices are very reasonable. I didn't return, though.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to matera. The food and the service was spectacular. We had the waiter pick for us and he did not disappoint. We had cheeses, truffles, mushrooms, pasta, etc… all were phenomenal. Highly recommend stop.

Excellent, fair prices—in fact, I went there twice on vacation, and it was always impeccable! The food was special, especially the meat, cooked by a true Argentinian (a guarantee). I highly recommend it.

In Basilicata for a weekend getaway as a couple, we couldn't help but return to Bernalda for dinner at "La Mangiatoia." An enchanting location, nestled behind the main street in a quiet corner, you'll find yourself in a welcoming and meticulously maintained restaurant with professional and friendly staff, but above all, excellent quality; from appetizers to a vast selection of meats, you'll be spoiled for choice! ABSOLUTELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We were passing through the area and, looking for a restaurant for lunch, we stumbled upon this place almost by accident. The name of the place immediately caught my attention, and it was an instinctive choice that turned out to be a delightful surprise! From the outside, you wouldn't expect what you find inside: a cozy and very characteristic place. The main room is located in a splendid cellar with ancient brick vaults and stone walls, furnished with small tables that create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The shelves filled with wine bottles, the warm lighting, and the rustic yet refined atmosphere immediately make you feel at ease. Outside, there are a few tables surrounded by greenery, under a wonderful pergola covered with lush, brightly colored bougainvillea, which makes the terrace truly charming. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by an open-view refrigerated counter with the kitchen in the background, where local and international meats, aged in various ways, and their own cured meats are beautifully displayed. Just looking at them makes you want to try everything! We started with tagliatelle with mushrooms, truly excellent: well-cooked pasta, flavorful, and full of mushrooms. The real star, however, was the meat: local, of the highest quality. It was cooked impeccably, and we loved the option of having it served on a hot plate, to maintain its temperature, or on a cold cutting board, so you could enjoy it exactly as you like. The side dishes also deserve special mention: carefully prepared and truly flavorful, especially the onions and zucchini. We washed it all down with an excellent house Primitivo di Manduria, which paired perfectly with the meat. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and very kind, always ready to explain the various cuts of meat and offer advice without being intrusive. It was a delightful discovery, a complete accident on the return trip. One of those authentic places where you can sense the passion for quality and for their local area. It's a shame it's so far from home... because I would really love to go back!

What can I say, we had read the reviews and we went there, I confirm what I read, in fact I must say that I found everything exquisite with the owner and his daughter very kind, we will definitely return
