14/09/2025: We arrived in Puglia yesterday and were hungry. Restaurants here naturally open later than in Germany. Calogero opens as early as 7:00 PM, and the reviews were very good. Absolutely right. We can recommend the restaurant without reservation. If you're looking for a sea view, you've obviously come to the wrong place. But the food is excellent. We had Scottish beef tagliata, grilled and fried vegetables, a pizza, wine, water, a sorbet, and espressos. All of the finest quality. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. Of course, there was also water for our dog. We will definitely visit the restaurant again. Many thanks to the whole team. Continued success. I've eaten divinely both on New Year's Eve and for several birthdays: the quality of the dishes is consistent and the organization is always impeccable. Their set menus are unbeatable for variety and value, ideal for those who want to enjoy the evening without surprises. The real touch of class is the karaoke, which transforms every dinner into a moment of pure fun and excitement. Excellent food and a fantastic atmosphere; I highly recommend it for any occasion!

04/01/2026: I'd like to start by complimenting the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I've already personally complimented the owner (Pietro) when I went for lunch today for my father-in-law's 70th birthday. But I'd like to leave a personal comment on social media. I'll start with the location, which is meticulously maintained and spacious, unlike many places that crowd you in just to get things done. Here, the space was just right, and you didn't have to play Tetris near the table to make room for the food. Moving on to the food, I can be sure of what I'm saying, given that there were three chefs at the table (who have been in the business since 1969), plus me. Like everyone else in the same profession, I'm critical and meticulous, as well as having a certain palate. I can attest that all the ingredients were high-quality, fresh, and flavorful. Starting with an appetizer where nothing was frozen, delicious croquettes and zeppole, and not to mention the flans. But I want to compliment the chef for the pasta and potatoes, which with its simplicity and its "pav chell e mamma" flavor, the right portions and seconds at the table of all the dishes, and they never made a fuss about any request made. Last but not least, because in my opinion the real added value of Rifugio del Nonno is the staff, courteous, polite, attentive to detail, always polite and kind, and above all the extras, they also gave all the support possible and this only means that the owners treat those who work for and with them well. A true team must be united and they are. These compliments are not made out of niceness, friendship or anything else but simply because THEY ARE ALL DESERVED and we must give credit to those who sacrifice themselves every day to achieve certain goals and do the best for the diners. As I told the owner today I wasn't able to eat much because I had the flu, but I will come to visit you often and I will send people because I am sure I will only make a good impression. Thank you for the magnificent day you gave us.

05/10/2025: I'm starting from the premise that I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I finally got around to going with some friends, but the experience wasn't the best; in fact, if I have to be completely honest, it was one of the worst places I've ever been to. The meat they brought couldn't be cut. At first, I thought it was the knife, which wasn't suitable, but it was still tough, as "un sercio," as they say in Rome. Then we moved on to the tiramisu, which I finished in four spoonfuls—truly miserable. I don't think I'll ever go there again, and I certainly won't recommend it to anyone else.

28/09/2025: Everything was delicious, the meat was super tender, and the staff was super friendly. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back.

12/03/2026: The place was well presented, with super friendly and knowledgeable waitresses. The menu was typical, very good, and everything was prepared by them. The price was great. I was very happy and it was a top experience. I will gladly return.
