16/02/2026: On Valentine's Day, we went to Giovanni's for lunch: we ordered mixed antipasti a la carte and a first course each. The appetizers were mediocre, nothing exceptional; we were disappointed. Although the fried food was golden and crispy, the calamari was rubbery. The eggplant caponata was good, which I hadn't expected in a seafood appetizer. Marinated and smoked anchovies from store-bought bags... but let's move on to the first courses: pasta with clams was completely dry, seemingly oily. The pasta with sea urchins was slightly better. We also ordered risottos: good flavor, but not at all creamy. The sauce was loose. Both the pasta and the rice were cooked perfectly. Dessert: excellent lemon sorbet, I don't know if it was homemade. Tart with cream: delicious cream, raw pastry, still moist on the inside, which, obviously, wasn't crunchy in the mouth but too creamy. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the atmosphere was nice and clean.

15/03/2026: A welcoming place, excellent food that showcases the flavors of Sicily, excellent service, and a comprehensive menu. This will definitely be our next stop. Recommended.

The family management is evident throughout: kindness, attention, and love for their work, down to every detail. The dishes are extraordinary, prepared with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, reflecting authentic Sicilian cuisine, the way it once was, yet meticulously crafted and never boring. Each course is an explosion of flavors, from the pasta dishes to the main courses, right down to the homemade biscuits. A warm, family-friendly atmosphere, a charming location, and impeccable service. A place we'll gladly return to and one we recommend without hesitation. Congratulations!

04/03/2026: In Messina, it's always the same story. Good pasta, for goodness' sake. But here they keep raising prices. And serving less than they used to. If you want to keep customers, you have to keep them satisfied.

09/02/2026: My wife and I dined here while on vacation. The setting is absolutely lovely on the steps. The food — while not innovative or unique — was perfectly cooked and tasty. I would normally have given this place 5 stars were it not for the obnoxious service. I asked the server for two glasses of red wine to try before choosing one. There was no list of wines by the glass (mind you), so it was not clear how many total wines there were by the glass. Or if a wine by the glass list existed, it wasn’t presented to us. The server brought out the glasses, but I didn’t care for either so I asked if there was maybe a 3rd I could try. That’s when — in the most condescending manner I’ve ever experienced from a waiter in my life — they scoffed and laughed at me saying “in Sicily there are only two types of red wine.” Translation: “you idiot…why are you bothering me with such dumb requests.” I was so astonished and rattled at how they mocked me that I had to excuse myself from the table and go to the bathroom to take a pause. When I came out of the bathroom I was visibly shaken that the owner came up to me to ask what was wrong. I told him what happened and asked for a new server. The owner — a truly gracious soul whose wife was about to give birth any day — offered to be our server for the night. While the owner did his best to rectify the situation, the evening had already been ruined. I would’ve given 1 star had it not been for the kindhearted owner who understood the importance of service relative to the high prices they charge. While this happened maybe 9-10 months ago, it still pops into my mind from time to time. I’m writing this bad review for my own personal closure so I can stop thinking about how mistreated I was, and to warn the owner that others will leave bad reviews if they keep that obnoxious waiter on staff. And, for the record, their staff should be educated on Sicilian wine better. While there are indeed two main red varietals Sicily is famous for, there are plenty more that are grown in Sicily. So they mocked me for not knowing something that they were completely wrong about. How ironic.

17/11/2025: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pepe Nero is truly a gem in Termini Imerese! Every time my husband and I are in town, it’s one of the first places we make sure to visit. Ornella is always so warm and welcoming, which makes the experience feel extra special. The food is consistently delicious, and the service goes above and beyond, whether it’s just the two of us or when we bring along a group. They always find a way to make everyone feel comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

15/03/2026: From the moment we entered the restaurant we felt very welcomed. The waiters was so helpful and had great knowledge of the wine and food. The food was both tasteful and lovely for your eyes with a modern twist. We had a really great evening so please make sure to visit this place when you are in Cefalu

15/03/2026: It was raining heavily, and we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. A wonderful discovery! Exceptional meal. We chose the Locanda appetizer platter, followed by homemade ravioli, squid ink risotto, and pork. Everything was excellent. The servers were friendly and very helpful. Kudos to the chefs! The dishes were worthy of a fine dining establishment.

24/10/2025: La Prima Dea in Erice was such a lovely surprise. The food was beautiful, full of genuine Sicilian flavour, and made with top-quality local ingredients. The olive oil was honestly the best I’ve ever tasted — I could have happily eaten it on its own! What really stood out was the hospitality. The waiters weren’t pushy or trying to grab tourists’ attention like you often see elsewhere; they were genuinely proud of the amazing food they serve. Service was super quick too, which made it perfect for a relaxed but efficient lunch. We tried the arancini, pane cunzato and panino — all absolutely delicious. And the friendly chap outside, calling people in with his charming Italian accent, really made my day. La Prima Dea is one of those places that reminds you what good food and genuine warmth are all about. Highly recommended!

19/02/2026: A truly fascinating experience in the heart of Modica. The variety and selection of chocolate is incredible, with unique and sophisticated flavor combinations. The atmosphere is extremely clean, well-maintained, and modern. I truly appreciated the staff's willingness to let us taste all the different types of chocolate available: a great way to make an informed choice about your favorite flavors. A recommended stop for lovers of quality!

29/01/2026: There was a tour program, which included explanations of various chocolates and a brief demonstration of the technique for infusing chocolate with aromas in a back room. I was a bit disappointed with the hands-on experience, as it wasn't about making anything. The chocolate didn't stick to the roof of your mouth, which was a unique and luxurious touch. This is said to be due to the low-temperature process separating the chocolate from the sugar. I visited a sandwich shop in Syracuse, and while they sell the same chocolate, I couldn't sample it.

23/02/2026: My friend and I recently stopped by this bar and had a decent experience overall. The interior is surprisingly spacious much bigger than I had imagined which creates a nice, open atmosphere. They offer quite a diverse selection, ranging from gelato to various food items and drinks.We ordered the Crema al Caffè con panna, which tasted quite good. However, we did find the prices to be noticeably higher compared to other bars in the area, and unfortunately, the portions were significantly smaller than expected.
