20/07/2025: There are places that change the memory of a vacation. And this one did for us. After days spent searching in vain for a pleasant place in the area, we stumbled upon what at first glance might seem like a tourist trap, the first place we'd come from the city center. Instead... reasonable prices, more than good quality for the price, and above all smiles from everyone, even those who, understandably, sit behind the warm counter knowing it will be a long wait. They were kind, even too kind in asking a group of rude people to vacate their unauthorized tables to make room for the restaurant's customers. I hope the verbal acknowledgement we shared with a service girl reaches the entire team. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is very nice, and having two children, we appreciated the high chairs and changing table in the bathroom, things that are still not a given in every restaurant. The first courses, the rintrocilo with lamb sauce and the chitarrina with meatballs, were delicious. The roast beef was also good, considering it wasn't grilled, and the vegetables that accompanied it were divine. The house wine was also good.

You don't just come into Dolcepane to buy something: you come to relive a little childhood. Every product tastes like family celebrations, slow breakfasts, and snacks with grandma. The fiadoni seem to have come straight from a handwritten recipe book, the cookies stare at you from the window as if they've known you forever, and the QuattroLati pizzas... well, they have the magical power to make everyone happy.
But the real magic is the smile of those who welcome you: sincere kindness, genuine advice, care in every gesture.
You can tell they work here with passion, with hands and heart.
It's the place I return to every time I want to treat myself (or someone else) to something special.
Well done. Keep up the good work.
Chieti has a treasure... and it's called Dolcepane.

02/08/2025: I'm still licking my lips (which I don't have) over the absolutely top-notch aperitivo we just had. In addition to the standard appetizers, meticulously prepared and beautifully presented, we had two spectacular pinsas, one with mortadella, pistachio, and stracciata, the other with prosciutto, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes. The ingredients were of unquestionable quality. Well done, and thank you!!!

09/08/2025: We returned to Rudygia in Francavilla after some time, last night, for a challenging challenge for the chef and his team, which they overcame with apparent ease. There were 16 of us for a gathering of childhood friends from various places, eager to rekindle old experiences with fish soup. The large number of guests did not suggest a successful outcome was a given, yet chef Michelone Di Somma's organizational skills managed to satisfy all participants. Four large pans of each fish, as per the regulations, were spaced out across the long table in groups of four, offering cuttlefish, skate, weever fish, angler fish, smooth dogfish, scorpion fish, medium-sized scampi, and a happy discovery of vocc'n cap, the white-fleshed priestfish perfect for this recipe, which also relied on the perfect amount of tomato. In addition to the mussels, clams, paparazze, were a must-have to complete the dish. After savoring the fish, after a well-deserved pause during which the pans were removed and the remaining seasonings were filtered, Michelone proposed tubettini in the brodetto sauce, which were a resounding success, demonstrated by the constant flow of generous spoonfuls from all participants, some even tripling their portions.
A few were left with the lingering desire to try linguine instead of tubetti, as had been envisioned, but I personally hope to complete this experience soon. Even the wine pairings proposed by the chef satisfied the diners, thanks to the qualities of a multi-award-winning Cerasuolo with a strong alcohol content and the less celebrated, yet perfect, Trebbiano from the same cellars as Cerasuolo, with balanced and harmonious notes of fresh and slightly aromatic notes of white fruit and a hint of almond blossom. A note not to be underestimated, coming from those accustomed to paying attention to budget requirements, a truly fair price for food and markups for vintage wines. This last point is absolutely not to be underestimated given the general trends, which are sometimes truly unacceptable and damaging to the entire wine and restaurant industry.

25/07/2025: An experience to forget. We asked for a first course: spaghetti allo scoglio, 6 closed clams that I was terrified to open, 3 post-war scallops, and semi-raw pasta. At that point, we decided to stop there.

21/07/2025: Il cibo è buonissimo e ci sono dei "fuori menù" che sono la fine del mondo!!! Non è possibile dire quale piatto è il migliore, perché tutto è cucinato con amore e competenza!!!!
Ottima qualità dei prodotti, la vasta scelta di birre buonissime.
Il servizio è veloce, soprattutto grazie alla professionalità di Deborah che riesce a tenere le fila di una sala intera ed ora integrato dell'aiuto prezioso della giovane Lucilla.
E come non fare un elogio a Valerio, ottimo padrone di casa, che riesce a mettere il cliente a proprio agio e farlo sentire un amico di vecchia data, con la sua sottile ironia e i suoi "famosi digestivi" sempre diversi e ben preparati che ti fanno concludere una serata meravigliosa!!!!
Grazie x l'esperienza che ci fate vivere ogni volta che veniamo nel vostro locale!!!!

The food is delicious, and there are some "off-menu" items that are out of this world!!! It's impossible to say which dish is the best, because everything is cooked with love and skill!!!!
Excellent product quality, a wide selection of delicious beers.
The service is fast, thanks in large part to Deborah's professionalism, who manages the entire dining room, and now with the invaluable help of young Lucilla.
And how can we not praise Valerio, the excellent host, who makes guests feel at ease and like an old friend, with his subtle wit and his "famous digestifs," always different and well-prepared, that make for a wonderful end to the evening!!!!
Thank you for the experience you give us every time we come to your place!!!!
