30/08/2024: Ci siamo stati due volte io e la mia ragazza. Un bellissimo locale con posti a sedere fuori. Ideale per fare aperitivo e mangiare qualcosa, fuori dalla zone piu turistiche di Venezia. Il personale è stra-simpaticissimo! Di sicuro tutte le volte che tornerò a Venezia ci andrò di sicuro!
SUPERCONSIGLIATO!
14/07/2024: Nella mia short list dei cicchetti a Venezia El Refolo è saldo in posizione: cicchetti pronti che basta vederli e sai che vanno molto bene, e ne fanno ad hoc che fidati (sono uno che non sbaglia le recensioni). Birra, tavoli alti, via Garibaldi e’ lì pronta a farti entrare a Castello… con calma, conviene tirare fuori un po’ di euro in più e provare tutta la lista del Refolo.

30/07/2024: Wir haben einen Tisch für 19:45 Uhr bestellt allerdings mit 7 Personen kamen aber mit 9 Personen. Die Dame am Empfang war freundlich und flexibel. ( deshalb der eine Stern) Wir bekamen einen Tisch allerdings innen. War aber jetzt nicht schlimm. Wir bestellten unsere Getränke und zehn Minuten später unser Essen. Von da an ging es bergab. Das Essen kam innerhalb von fünf Minuten. Einige Essen waren noch kalt. Man bediente uns mit einer Schnelligkeit und wir bekamen den Eindruck, dass man uns schnell wieder loswerden wollte. Einige aßen noch es wurde aber schon mal abgeräumt. Geht garnicht!!!
Fazit: Wenn man einen gehobenen Anspruch ( die Gerichte waren schon im mittleren bis hohen Preissegment) erhebt, sollte man Freundlichkeit zeigen und nicht Gleichgültigkeit, dies gehört zum guten Service dabei. Dieses Restaurant hatte nichts von alledem. Toiletten sind eine Zumutung. Gott sei Dank haben wir es zwei Tage später anders kennengelernt. Wir fahren schon viele Jahre an den gleiche Ort aber außer einen Aperol Spritz oder Bier nach einer Fahrradtour kann man dort nichts genießen. Wir werden weder das Eine noch das Andere tun.
03/07/2024: Piatti ottimi, personale molto simpatico. Così tanti piatti da rendere difficile la scelta, abbiamo quindi optato per 6 piatti diversi, tutti buonissimi! Con gli spaghetti al nero di seppia ci hanno portato anche lo spazzolino da denti con il dentifricio!

01/01/2024: Pizza came out un-cut so used knife and fork to chop it up ourselves, we noticed there was plastic stuck to the pizza, clearly this was a pizza that had been bought from maybe a supermarket and reheated. About an hour after the pizza came out for my partner I got my food, a lasagna that tasted and felt like it had been microwaved, over cooked noodles and pretty bland. Not the worst food in the world but one of the more expensive restaurants we have been to in Venice and the worst food we have had. Expect hospital cafeteria quality food and to be ignored. There was a hidden service gratuity added of 12% and given the option to tip ahead of seeing this. I wouldn't recommend eating here.
05/12/2023: We went in thinking about eating a menu with the children for 13.50. There's the catch, once inside they offered us potatoes or salad with the main course, which they charge separately, but they offer it to you as if it came as an accompaniment. 8 euros for a glass of house wine and 1 liter bottle of water 4 euros.
The pasta at the beginning was good, but the second ones were overcooked and not good.
I don't recommend it

23/08/2024: Nice food, friendly staff.
The natural wines are decent with some exception both in the good and bad sense,
I hear they used to be great, had a fantastic Nerello Mascalese a few years ago.
However,
last time I went I payed 5.5 euros for a glass of chardonnay which was simply badly fermented (tasted a bit like very bad cider) and don't tell me that is how natural wines are supposed to taste like because I had a lot of them, weird ones too tasting like Weissbier, but they were all great!
This one was simply poorly done: it had just a dirty acidity, period.
Then I had a glass of Garganega (for a lower price!) which was so much nicer. Not the clearest/cleanest wine but nice and gutsy with fullbody and nice golden ripe aromas.
The funniest thing is that I then went back and told them (very politely) I liked the Garganega better and the waitress/manager responded quite condescendingly that 'It is because they are completely different things: chardonnay is an AROMATIC wine'.
I swear to my family that's what she said.

I was sniffing out some pretended knowledge because chardonnay is most famously not an aromatic wine (the list most commonly includes: Gewürztraminer, Riesling and sometimes Moscato or Muller Thurgau). -> Check it for yourself on any serious wine website/magazine (like decanter or wine folly).
On top of that,
I then offered that the high acidity (didn't' mention its dirtiness ofc) of the first wine might have been because of the cold climate of the mountain where it was grown. In the same way she said that 'it is actually because of the soil'.
Which I'll admit probably has an effect on the minerality and possibly the acidity as well, but the Temperature (of the area and the vintage) definitely has an effect on the acidity like I was saying, and that is undeniable.
Overall I was offered two really one-sided opinions about wine, the first one of which was just plain wrong.
These people, or hopefully only this person, clearly does not have a deep knowledge about wine and grapes, despite her pretentiousness. Go to l'arco or l'adagio if you want to taste some better wines and hear some true expertise.
La bottiglia is out of my radar now sadly,
Spending more than 5e on a bad glass of wine for being told that I didn't actually understand its grape - with a completely wrong statement - it's not something I'm looking forward to repeat again,
forgive me.
01/07/2024: Can you picture this: you're in Venice, weaving your way to the central bowels of this incomparable city, feeling a little peckish and curious about local wines and such, all of a sudden 'La Bottiglia' pops up as you cross one of Venice's cool little bridges...
GO IN! Friendly & knowledgeable staff serve up excellent sandwiches + cicchetti on a convivial corner, perfect for a break and watching passersby!
If I were better at dropping "5's" on TA, they would certainly have one. I highly recommend this spot.
