07/08/2025: [English] This is a shady place, beware! I ordered a plate of seafood spaghetti and was charged 108 euros! On the evening of July 10, 2025, when I first arrived in Venice, I saw this place on the street and thought it looked cheap, so I sat down. Since I don't speak Italian, I could only look at the picture on the menu and ordered a plate of seafood spaghetti, which was listed as 9 euros. While eating, I didn't think the seafood was fresh at all, but I figured, for only 9 euros, I couldn't expect more. However, when I paid, I was charged 108 euros! They said the price on the menu was for 100 grams, but the plate I was given was 1000 grams, plus a 12% service charge. I blamed myself for not reading the price on the menu, but they didn't confirm the portion size when I ordered. Furthermore, if the plate of spaghetti was 500 grams, it's possible, but it definitely wasn't 1000 grams! After negotiating with two shop assistants, one offered a discount, charging me 80 euros. I said I could only pay 50 euros, and he said, "Let's call the police." But he didn't seem to call them. I asked when they would arrive, and they said it would take at least two hours. After a while, another shop assistant came over to mediate, saying they didn't want to cause any trouble. I was unfamiliar with the place and didn't want to bother with any trouble, so I just accepted my bad luck and paid 70 euros. During the negotiation, the shop assistant who took my order pretended to accidentally bump into me twice, then became aggressive and threatened to hit me. This was my first time in Italy, and I've traveled from Naples to Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan. I've always found Italians to be generally friendly, but this shop was the most unpleasant and even a little terrifying. These shady shops are truly a detriment to the beautiful scenery of Venice! Later, I saw reviews on Google Maps and realized that this shop has a reputation for being terrible. It's my fault for not checking first. I hope more people see this post to avoid being scammed. Later, they came back and said it would take at least two hours for the police to arrive. After a while, another staff member came over to mediate and said they didn’t want any trouble either. Being unfamiliar with the area and not wanting to escalate things, I unwillingly paid €70 in the end. During the negotiation, the staff member who took my order "accidentally" bumped into me twice, and later even tried to intimidate me by acting as if he was going to hit me. This was my first trip to Italy, and I traveled from south to north, visiting Naples, Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan. I found most Italians very friendly. However, my experience at this restaurant was the most Unpleasant and even a bit frightening. Scam restaurants like this one ruin the beauty of Venice! Afterwards, I checked Google Maps reviews and found out that this restaurant is notorious for its poor reputation. It’s my own fault for not checking beforehand. I also checked menus from other restaurants and found out that the average price of a seafood pasta is around 25-30 euros. I hope more people can see this post and avoid falling into such scams.

11/04/2026: We visited this restaurant where we ordered a Margherita pizza with mozzarella and a menu with water. The pizza was frozen, with poor-quality mozzarella, served on a black, greasy wooden plate. When we got the bill, we were charged a cover charge (2 euros each) and an additional 12% service charge. Naturally, there was no receipt. Avoid.

16/02/2026: Poor, underwhelming food, terrible service, a waiter who almost threw cutlery at the tables, which were brought upon request after the first course had already been served, dirty glasses brought wet (that is, only rinsed after use). An hour's wait for the second course. After pointing this out, the waiter seemed annoyed, and the lady at the cashier, upon pointing this out, refused to charge us a single euro for this terrible service!!

08/09/2025: Very friendly and animal-loving owner, fast service, and reasonable cocktail prices. Definitely recommend it.

04/09/2025: I don't recommend it. When you go to pay, the prices are different from the menus at the tables. Basically, you pay one amount one day and a different one the next, at the owner's discretion. P.S. In four days, I haven't even issued a receipt!

07/12/2025: Prices too high in my opinion, with portions not very balanced, in the past I had eaten a cutlet decidedly bigger than a fist, pork at too high prices, calling it mixed cut with a little polenta, large sandwiches but without accompaniments, I regretfully have to change my opinion after years, I remembered that this Dinner was the best!

05/12/2025: Worst place to have dinner. I don't recommend the pizza slices, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to wait too long. The staff is also rude.

04/05/2026: The place is well located. But I think it's a bit expensive for what they offer. My mom wanted something for breakfast and ordered a special: coffee, juice, and a toasted sandwich (which was just okay) for 11 euros, and then they charged her a 2 euro service fee that wasn't mentioned at all. I think there are better places in Venice for that price. The staff, however, were very helpful.

29/09/2025: But at least train your employees... working for Diemme and not knowing the basics of a perfect espresso takes away the company's credibility.

20/09/2025: This afternoon I stopped by the bar for a couple of coffees ☕️☕️ I have to say, the guy at the cash register was really kind 😊, the tall, smiling girl was very courteous and helpful 🌸. I always love the atmosphere, with a beautiful view that makes even a simple break special 💖. Unfortunately, the only downside was a small, slightly plump barista with glasses 👓 who glared at us and then rudely served our coffees, shoving them in front of us 😔… I thought maybe she was having a bad day, but it would have been better not to take it out on the customers. I love the place and I've been there before with pleasure ✨ I would have given it 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, but it's a real shame about the service on that occasion.

07/04/2026: The out side dining is set on a beautiful canal, but inside is just very plain. My wife and I ordered a glass of wine. She ordered a rosé. I ordered a Chardonnay and when they came, they brought a full bottle of each that was already opened. They poured our wine at the table and I thought they were just pouring us a glass like we ordered but no then they said we ordered the whole bottle. When we finish, we asked for the car for our wine to take the rest of the bottle and they said they could not find one to fit. The bruschetta was very plain, and the rest of the food was just tolerable. When it came time to pay, our waiter could not take a card because only one guy can do that and he was outside smoking a cigarette. There are too many other good restaurants to choose from than taking a chance on this place.

05/04/2026: Walid was an amazing server who cared about our service and experience. Would 100% come back here for drinks and appetizers. Friendly staff right by the water where you get amazing views!

04/05/2026: Nice spot right by the canal - super chill atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, and even though we got there pretty late (around 10:30 pm), we still managed to order food, which was great. Aperol Spritz was tasty and came quickly 👍 The pizza was okay - not bad, but nothing special. We’ve definitely had better in Venice.

12/04/2026: I ordered two lattes to go, and they charged me €11. Absolutely insane, and an outrageously high price for the area.

16/09/2025: During our holiday, we once went to the Spaghetti House in Caorle. We usually know all the good restaurants and pizzerias in the area, as we've vacationed in Caorle several times before. But we'd never been there, so we decided to have dinner. The spaghetti ragu (Bolognese) was completely dry, with hardly any sauce, and there was practically no mince to be seen – not to mention the taste. The mixed salad was full of bits of stems, and the vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper were only in single-use sachets. It took ages for us to get the bill; instead, we were ignored while the waitresses kept attending to our lunches or taking new orders. When we paid, our jaws dropped, as this uninspired, possibly not even homemade, meal cost more than anywhere else. Tip: If you're really hungry and want a good meal, go to Reeps across the street. They have large meat dishes that seem more expensive at first glance, but are cheaper overall when you include drinks.

14/09/2025: The waitress was sour and rude as can be! The owner apologized first, then laughed it off with the same boooo!! Turn around!!

06/05/2026: Avoid this place as they really don't want your business! We've sat down there for a spritz, which was not only the most expensive we've had all around Venice (7 EUR ?!?), but also the smallest one and pretty poor quality. Also unlike the nearby tables where Italians were seating we were not served any snacks or chips with it. Really bad service, poor quality and expensive.

21/04/2026: The service was terrible; the waitresses never came to take our order even though they were looking at us. We ended up leaving without ordering anything.

12/04/2026: Unfortunately, this was a complete disappointment. My visit to Caffè Internazionale in Venice was awful. The food arrived within a minute, was cold, and had absolutely no flavor. Everything pointed to a rushed service. The service and the staff's behavior reflected this. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

30/03/2026: The worst cappuccino I've had in Italy, it tastes like it's made with water. The famous "sad" cappuccino! Rude, uncourteous service. Extremely expensive.

06/10/2025: A bar in the heart of Piazza Ferretto; from the outdoor tables, you can admire the entire porticoed promenade. The service is embarrassingly rude, making you feel a bit uncomfortable. The croissants are rubbery, limp, and awful (they should change suppliers). The cappuccino is pleasant overall, but with a poor coffee-to-foam ratio. The price is ridiculous: five euros for a cappuccino and croissant. Highly not recommended unless you enjoy spending too much on something that is overall unpleasant.

04/10/2025: The waitress "randomly" charged us ten euros on a receipt where the individual costs weren't broken down, so I don't know how much three coffees and two pastries cost. But ten euros for, I repeat, three coffees and two pastries is definitely too much! We're not in St. Mark's Square!

26/03/2026: The staff were really rude and not up to par (for a bar in Mestre).

04/03/2026: You can't be kicked out of a bar because you're only consuming a bottle of water and a Spritz. "Hey, your order is too small."

18/11/2025: My girlfriend and I went to this bar because we were craving hot chocolate. We ordered the hot chocolate with cream (€4.50), which is actually a ciobar. Paying €4.50 for a ciobar seems excessive to me. We also ordered two small pastries, clearly bought from the Iper Rossetto supermarket. The pastries were old, I think, from 4-5 days ago. But I ask myself, "Don't you try them before putting the pastries on display?" A terrible experience, we will never go back.

16/07/2025: If I could give less than 0 I would have done so immediately, obscenity both in the service and in the cleanliness of the place, served with a face full of fish for a spritz that I would not wish even on my worst enemy to drink... total shame.
