Caffè Chioggia In Venezia

This is Venice at its most iconic. Of course, all this comes at a price, but you are paying for far more than a drink: it is an experience in its own right.

A place to unwind in St. Mark's Square with music playing in the background. The cold drinks are truly refreshing. The lemonade is average, and the coffee is pretty good. But it's worth a visit.

On a very hot Saturday, we were out and about in Venice. We were simply thirsty and went to the nearest café. When we read the menu, our jaws dropped. A 0.5-liter mineral water for €10 and a 0.01-liter (!!!) non-alcoholic Gingerino for €16. In total, we paid €26 (including cupcakes, chips, and music. And, given the heat, a shady seat...). The service was good! Unfortunately, I can't really recommend it.

This is a wonderful place, and I loved it. The Italians I met were also very kind. However, one older, white-haired, very skinny waiter left a terrible impression on me. I didn't know it was forbidden to give a bird a potato chip. I absolutely respect this rule. The problem wasn't the call, but the manner in which it was delivered: he was very abrupt, arrogant, and severe. He looked at me with a disgusted expression and scolded me in a truly rude manner. It's a beautiful place and deserves to be remembered for its quality, not for the attitude of a single employee. I hope that in the future, more attention will be paid to the way the staff treats customers, because courtesy is as important as service. Unfortunately, with every beautiful thing, there can be something that ruins the experience. I'm used to it now, but it's still a shame.

You get what you expect here! Expect to pay high prices due to the wonderful band that is included in the price! Expect gorgeous views of the palace and great people watching! Don’t expect too much in terms of service and food in such a touristy area and you won’t be disappointed! We found the service great though, they are all dressed so smart and pleasing to the eye!! The band were wonderful! The crostini was fine but not worth the 19 euros for 3 of them…. Lovely touch to include a cover because seagulls and pigeons are a problem!! If you want to sit inside then Florian looked maybe nicer but outside this is better! We had 20 minutes to drink and have a snack and get the bill before our booking for the cathedral and it was all timely and we could still relax!!
