The food was good, but the service was pushy. I sat down with an ice cream I'd bought to go, and after the ice cream, I wanted a coffee, but they wouldn't serve me. The whole experience cost me €31 for a cappuccino, a canapé, and a double scoop of ice cream. A rip-off!!! 😁😁😁

A great experience at Ai Scalzi. Its most notable feature is its strategic location, ideal for those passing through the Cannaregio area. The atmosphere is welcoming and maintains that sought-after Venetian essence. The food stands out for its freshness and authentic flavor, especially the traditional pasta dishes. The service is quick and professional, which is appreciated in such a busy area. Perhaps the price is slightly high for the location, but the quality and service more than make up for it. Definitely worth repeating.

Next to train station, inside decoration looks not bad and heater is too much, but not a disadvantage. Service is really not welcoming, am taking two kids but not naughty, feels like pretty cold service hope it’s not coz of my kids, this is the reason for 3 star service rating. Atmosphere means internal decoration is not bad. Food taste is ok, not too bad but surely not a good authentic Italian restaurant from only my personal point of view, with the tourist price, each person 2.5 EUR service fee, children included no matter the age, another 10% service fee on top, hope taste should be good with this price level but actually not the case that is the reason for 3 star rating on food.

We went there for dinner one evening because it was close to the hotel. It's not exactly haute Italian cuisine, but everything was perfectly acceptable. The Caesar salad was generously topped, and the classic pepperoni pizza was very good. The service was quite quick; no complaints there. The scathing reviews are rather incomprehensible, or perhaps we just happened to have a very, very good experience. It's not a "tourist trap" as some claim; it's a standard restaurant like the many found in all ultra-touristy cities, Venice perhaps even more so than others.

Prices border on robbery, but let's say the reason is clear, and if you stop here, you should do so with a clear conscience.
Service is fairly quick, in my experience.
Obviously, I wouldn't return unless it's for a quick coffee.

For dinner, we went to Ai Scalzi, located on Lista di Spagna Street, right next to the hotel. The large windows offered a great view of the canal and large bridge right in front of us, making for a great view.
