02/08/2026: I'm giving it one star because it's the only thing you can't give less. Two lattes plus a reheated pastry cost 18.50. Zero service: for the exorbitant price, not even a glass of water. Furthermore, there was no empanada and the operational capacity was nonexistent, considering the drink was a large soda with coffee that you'd find on "Who Has Seen It?" Places like this are detrimental to a city like Venice; you really feel cheated. Disgraceful treatment. And don't even think you're paying for the fact that it's a historic pastry shop, considering the level of quality and the lack of cleanliness of the tables inside are comparable to that of a far less than mediocre café.

08/07/2026: I had a great experience at Hostaria Galileo during my visit to Venice. The location is excellent, very close to St. Mark's Square, but with a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
The service was very friendly and attentive, and the dishes were very well prepared, with fresh ingredients and typical Italian flavors. It's a great place to try some good pasta.
The atmosphere is charming, perfect for a quiet meal after a day exploring the city. The combination of quality, service, and location makes this restaurant an excellent choice for anyone visiting Venice.
I recommend it to everyone looking for good food, friendly service, and an authentic Italian experience. I would definitely return!

02/08/2026: This is Venice at its most iconic. From the terrace of Gran Caffè Chioggia, in the San Marco district, the view embraces the Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Basilica, the Campanile and the unique atmosphere of the Piazzetta.
Add a live orchestra and impeccable service, and the moment becomes truly special. Of course, all this comes at a price, but you are paying for far more than a drink: it is an experience in its own right.

10/06/2026: Very underwhelming experience. The location is beautiful for a sunset dinner overlooking Venice, but the food is bland, mediocre at best. The service and presentation were less than stellar. It was cold out, so we skipped dessert, but the dessert did look good. The waitress’ attitude changed once we asked for the check. She went from friendly to rude and almost knocked food and water on us when she was hastily cleaning up. At these prices, everything should be excellent.

13/06/2026: Do not go here unless you want to be ripped off. I went to go pay by credit card at the bar. The lady scanned my card and before I had a chance to say a word she quickly selected to pay in USD as opposed to Euros. Everyone knows that the buyer loses out when not paying in local currency. I immediately complained and asked her to refund it and repay in euros. She claimed that “option 2 Euros” was broken(ya… right). So I asked she refund it and I’ll pay in cash. She rudely refused and waved me off. I’ve never been treated so poorly by restaurant a staff member. I told her I was going to leave a bad review as I walked out the door.
We had breakfast here, scrambled eggs bacon and toast. It was nothing special.
Best avoid this place

06/05/2026: The food was good, but the service was pushy. I sat down with an ice cream I'd bought to go, and after the ice cream, I wanted a coffee, but they wouldn't serve me. The whole experience cost me €31 for a cappuccino, a canapé, and a double scoop of ice cream. A rip-off!!! 😁😁😁

18/08/2026: Venice is quite expensive, so this place is a great affordable stop right in the center. It’s not fancy, but has a chill and relaxed atmosphere — perfect when you just need a break while exploring the city. There’s no particular view, but the location is very central. The coffee was tasty and almost half the price compared to many other cafés nearby. Clean restroom and good service as well. Definitely a convenient stop in Venice!
16/08/2026: Avoid frozen pizzas, my daughter ordered a potato pizza, what a joke, they served a frozen pizza with frozen matchstick fries on top.

04/05/2026: My favorite store that I always visit when I'm in Italy. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed by the prices, which for some products are even higher than in Croatia. The exception is my favorite coffee brand, which was on sale for 20%, but only for a quantity of 3 packs.

There are so many reasons not to go :)
I requested a full refund because of the tax refund, but they just kept saying they don't give refunds in Italy.
On top of that, the staff even told us not to shop if we didn't have money!
They said it was okay to not get a tax refund since we already received a lot of discounts, lol.
