The 3 stars are for the view and location. The service is very inconsistent. The non-alcoholic cocktails are not recommended.
What's outrageous is that a 12% service charge is automatically added to the bill.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
The food was delicious. Especially thanks to Mrs. Giorgia, who was very kind to us and hosted us wonderfully (it's worth coming here just to see her adorable dog!).
I also thank Mr. Fabio, who helped us choose what to eat, and especially his colleague, who made our dinner even more enjoyable!

The food was quite good, and the staff were friendly. I left very satisfied; I don't understand why they received a low rating.

If you want to experience the true soul of Venice, Al Buso is a mandatory stop. Located literally at the foot of the Rialto Bridge, it offers a "front-row seat" to the Grand Canal that feels almost magical as the gondolas float by.
The service was the perfect balance of professional and warm; the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome in this historic, third-generation family gem.
Our meal was a journey of fresh, local flavors:
Venetian Appetizer: A flawless selection of local seafood that captured the essence of the lagoon.
The Seasonal Highlight: We were absolutely stunned by the Risotto of the Day featuring fresh artichokes from Sant'Erasmo. It’s rare to find such high-quality "km 0" ingredients from the islands prepared with this level of finesse.
Lobster Linguine: Truly "strepitose"—generous, perfectly cooked al dente, and bursting with flavor.
The real "surprise of the night" was discovering Venice Beer on their menu. It’s a craft gem that isn’t easy to find elsewhere. The bottle and label are a work of art (matching the beauty of the location!), and the beer itself is world-class. It’s the ultimate local touch to an already perfect evening.
Final Verdict: Forget the "tourist trap" fears—Al Buso is the real deal. Highly recommended for those who seek high-end culinary quality in a breathtaking, postcard-perfect setting.

They have a menu that includes a main course and a second course of meat or fish. I opted for meat, but it wasn't meat. The menu says beef chop, but when it arrives, it's a breaded chicken breast steak.

The staff was extremely unfriendly. They refused to give me coffee and a table reservation. The man, most likely the owner, was extremely rude. I definitely don't want to go back.

Only came here for a spritz and it’s definitely worth just sitting and admiring the spectacular view. The staff were so friendly, the spritz was good and the views speak for itself

Safe view of the Grand Canal.
Yes, you sit here in the middle of the tourist wave, while you feel the city life at full speed.
Service could be better, but when I smile at the waiter, he smiles back. It's not easy in this city with that speed.
Simple way, but my Parma ham with melons tastes good and wine with it...
You sit here and watch the pulse of the city. I loved it, although I would rather find a more discreet place to enjoy my food. It is also available here..
Try and judge for yourself:)

Beautiful canal view! The team was short-staffed but still did their best to take care of the tables, which I appreciated. One star off because the waiter repeatedly refused to answer whether the vegetable pasta contained eggplant, even when I kindly asked if he could check with the kitchen.
It was a personal preference for me but could easily have been an allergy. Especially since the vegetarian options are already very limited, this felt unnecessary and not great service.

A small treasure right by the Rialto bridge! I came at six and asked to reserve a table. The waiter was already too busy to write something down but when we arrived at 7:30, he remembered me!
We ate the best fish in a long time. Everyone was friendly the wine was great and the atmosphere couldn't have been better.
A word to all the people complaining about tips. Different countries, different rules I say, coperta or a service charge is never for the waiters, alwsys for the establishment. To give tips in cash is also very common, and not only in Italy, for several reasons.
We had no issues what so ever.
Is it pricey? Yeah, for sure but it's aldo bang on next to the Rialto Bridge!
