27/07/2025: If only we could give less than 1 star!!! The politeness and awareness of keeping a business open to the public is something quite rare or lacking for the lady who welcomed us! She was unpleasant and frustrated to the point of vomiting at the customers. Oh, please!!! And then they complain that people bring everything from home when they go to such a charming place with children, only to be greeted by managers like this!!!

23/07/2025: The place itself is undoubtedly charming: an enchanting landscape, nestled in a characteristic setting that deserves much better management. Unfortunately, all the beauty of the place is ruined by terrible service and a truly embarrassing welcome. The waiters were incredibly rude, with an annoyed attitude from the moment we arrived. Every request—even the simplest—was met with a grumpy attitude, as if we were a nuisance. No availability, no smiles, and a constant air of complacency made the experience truly unpleasant. It's a real shame that such a beautiful place is managed with such superficiality and rudeness. I won't return, nor will I recommend it, unless they decide to completely change the staff or at least teach them what "hospitality" means.

On the evening of July 10, 2025, when I first arrived in Venice, I saw this place on the street and thought it looked cheap, so I sat down. Since I don't speak Italian, I could only look at the picture on the menu and ordered a plate of seafood spaghetti, which was listed as 9 euros. While eating, I didn't think the seafood was fresh at all, but I figured, for only 9 euros, I couldn't expect more. However, when I paid, I was charged 108 euros! They said the price on the menu was for 100 grams, but the plate I was given was 1000 grams, plus a 12% service charge. I blamed myself for not reading the price on the menu, but they didn't confirm the portion size when I ordered. Furthermore, if the plate of spaghetti was 500 grams, it's possible, but it definitely wasn't 1000 grams! After negotiating with two shop assistants, one offered a discount, charging me 80 euros. I said I could only pay 50 euros, and he said, "Let's call the police." But he didn't seem to call them. I asked when they would arrive, and they said it would take at least two hours. After a while, another shop assistant came over to mediate, saying they didn't want to cause any trouble. Afterwards, I checked Google Maps reviews and found out that this restaurant is notorious for its poor reputation. It’s my own fault for not checking beforehand. I also checked menus from other restaurants and found out that the average price of a seafood pasta is around 25-30 euros. I hope more people can see this post and avoid falling into such scams.

11/07/2025: Viajero ciego estafado — € 9 pasta convertida en € 63 Tengo discapacidad visual, y esta fue mi primera visita a una trattoria en Venecia. Desafortunadamente, fui engañado debido a mi incapacidad para ver claramente. El personal recomendó un plato de pasta, diciendo que era de € 9. Lo ordené, confiando en esa información. Pero cuando llegó el momento de pagar, el propietario me dijo que en realidad eran 9 € por 100 gramos, algo que nunca me explicaron en ningún momento. Sin pedir mi consentimiento, cocinaron 700 gramos y luego me gritaron que pagara 63€. Cuando lo dudé, el dueño amenazó con llamar a la policía, lo que me puso extremadamente ansioso y asustado. Les dije que no tenía tarjeta, solo algo de dinero en efectivo. Me presionaron hasta que les di todo el dinero que tenía para salir de allí. Como alguien ciego, confío en explicaciones verbales claras. Pero ninguno fue proporcionado. En Florencia, cuando pedí filete, mostraron claramente el peso y el precio de antemano. Aquí, se aprovecharon de mi vulnerabilidad. Adjunto una foto del plato que sirvieron. Parecía una pasta típica de marisco, no algo que debería costar 63€. Y para ser claros, los 63€ eran solo para la pasta. Las bebidas y otros artículos se cobran por separado. Esto hace que la falta de explicación previa sea aún más indignante. Más tarde, encontré otra reseña que describía exactamente la misma situación: a un cliente le dijeron que era una “pasta de mariscos”, asumió que eran 15 € como los demás y terminó cobrándole 63 € por pasta de langosta. Es evidente que este es un patrón de engaño dirigido a los turistas, especialmente a aquellos que no están familiarizados con las prácticas locales o a personas vulnerables como yo. Ni siquiera me dieron un recibo. Esto no solo fue deshonesto, sino discriminatorio. Evita este lugar. Se benefician de engañar y amenazar a los clientes vulnerables.

05/07/2025: Nous recommandons ce restaurant qui est vraiment bon! J ai mangé du foie à la Vénitienne un délice!!! Les pâtes étaient très bonne aussi et le service excellent. Merci pour ce bon moment.

05/06/2025: Terrible ice cream shop, exaggerated prices for mini portions. Be careful with your portion, they charge you €0.20 for the lid of the cup to take away. NEVER HAPPENED!!!! I RECOMMEND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE.

04/05/2025: Esperienza pessima, ho ordinato il rombo con verdure ed il pesce era praticamente inesistente nel piatto. Meno di una sogliola di piccole dimensioni e tolta la pelle non ho praticamente cenato. Prezzo carissimo per una porzione di pesce inesistente.

02/05/2025: La tradizione della buona cucina. Ogni anno, da molti anni, ci fermiamo a cena in questo bel locale. Stasera, 2 maggio 2025, ci hanno fatto accomodare, senza aver prenotato, nel terrazzo estivo. Siamo stati divinamente. Abbiamo cenato con spaghetti allo scoglio e fritto misto, il tutto cotto come si deve. Abbiamo bevuto del prosecco di Valdobbiadene in bottiglia, per accompagnare le pietanze. Perfetto. L'assenza di cani, voluta con convinzione dal gestore, sicuramente un plus. Complimenti per la scelta Sig. Penzo!!!! Per concludere, se volete mangiare bene, carne oppure pesce, venite tranquillamente alla Taverna.

27/07/2025: I only stopped for a Coke on a hot day. €2 if I take it from the fridge and drink it from the can, €3.50 if they give me ice and lemon: and that's already a low point. Meanwhile, I saw something horrifying: they were heating up frozen pasta dishes in the microwave to give to tourists. This isn't clever, it's profiteering and an insult to Italian culinary culture.

09/07/2025: Unfortunately, it didn't convince us. A few things were really deliciously prepared (e.g., the gnocchi appetizer), while others felt a bit carelessly prepared and not very high quality (dried-on bread slices/too much fat/large lumps of minced meat in the ragù). We both feel a bit nauseous, but that could also be due to the portion sizes. Unfortunately, it was also comparatively expensive, so we only gave it 1/5.

07/07/2025: Yo EVITARÍA este lugar. La comida era terrible: una ensalada marchita y una pizza con masa congelada preparada, una salsa ligera y débil y un queso gelatinoso y sin sabor. Palitos de pan servidos en fundas de plástico. El servicio fue pasable durante la comida, pero luego agregaron un cargo por cubierto a mi cuenta y luego cobraron a mi tarjeta más de lo que correspondía. Noté el cobro excesivo y el camarero me explicó que era necesario porque estaba pagando con tarjeta. Me detuve porque me hospedaré cerca de este lugar y acabo de llegar a Venecia por unos días. Este es el tipo de experiencia que te hace arrepentirte de la decisión y sentir que te están aprovechando. Hay muchos restaurantes agradables a menos de 100 metros. Seguir andando. Error absoluto.
