03/01/2025: There were 4 of us who went on a Tuesday evening, arriving a little late due to the parking being unobtainable...welcomed I think by the owner who made us sit immediately, a nice person and absolute owner of the room, we had appetizers and first courses served with the right amount of anticipation and certainly everything freshly prepared! Let's say that the environment is very particular because it is in a small alley, but in the end it is a highly recommended place... strong flavours, excellent gnocchi filled with standard ricotta.

30/12/2024: Ho scelto questo ristorante per un pranzo in occasione di un soggiorno a Noto, per le ottime recensioni lette. Le recensioni sono state confermate. Ha pochi tavoli tutti all’aperto quindi consiglio di prenotare ed è aperto solo in estate fino ad autunno inoltrato. Tornando al pranzo tutto ottimo, abbiamo preso due primi io e mio marito da leccarsi i baffi. Se torno a Noto vado a pranzare o cenare dalla signora Ada, perfetta padrona di casa

12/06/2025: An up scale experience. Food was delicious and beautifully plated. Duck dish was probably the best preention I have had of fowl before.

12/06/2025: Unfortunately this was a very disappointing meal for us. While the waitstaff were friendly and kind, the pasta was seriously ordinary and bland. We tried the pumpkin pasta, and also the alla norma. Both were just completely tasteless and uninspiring. Coperto at €6 confirmed that this is well and truly a tourist trap, and not a genuine local eatery. Don’t trust the positive reviews - this place isn’t worth it.

24/04/2025: I have gone here on a few occasions due to its impractical location; the external space is quite small, so it fills up easily and the logistics of the place do not allow internal tables. Of course it's not the owners' fault, but unfortunately you find yourself surrounded by confusion and cars entering or leaving Viale Risorgimento. I didn't happen to try the rotisserie but if there is one strong point that this bar really deserves is its granita. "Few but good" is the expression that best suits their tastes. Few places in Augusta can compare. I'm a bit sorry about the rating but it must be recognized that they offer what they can in my opinion.

19/05/2025: This is our go to bar at Ortigia. (My apologies if I misspell the team’s names. Fault is all mine.) Edoardo gave us the best recommendations and suggestions on local drinks and aperitifs. We had the most reviving and interesting amaro / nepeta / Etna and classic spritzs here, as well as really good seafood to accompany the drinks. A shout out to Vierim (really warm service) and the bartender Daviole (I’m really sorry if I’ve misspelled your names!). Really good service and genuine smiles all round!

29/05/2025: Elegant restaurant serving exquisite Sicilian seafood. We ordered risotto with pumpkin cream and grouper accompanied by a glass of fine rosé wine. Delicious. Furthermore, the service was excellent, with very attentive and friendly waiters. All in all an outstanding dining experience I can warmly recommend. Grazie mille!

10/06/2025: Lives on the good old days. The entrance area and breakfast room are impressive. However, we were ignored for minutes at check-in. A young man and a young woman remained sitting behind the reception desk until a hotel guest came with a request. After that, the lady finally addressed us. A sparse greeting and information about the hotel. To top it all off, despite the hotel being at minimum capacity, we were given the smallest, darkest, and most remote room. Small window with a view of the hotel's garbage dump. No space for suitcases, clothes, etc. Some of the sockets didn't work, and the shower door was out of its lock. Air conditioning was loud. No place to linger longer than necessary. The vending machine at breakfast was undrinkable. The pool area is very nice, but unfortunately the crowd is sometimes loud and unpleasant. The location is too far away to explore Ortigia on foot. It's about a 25-minute walk to the harbor, through an ugly area with no shops, cafes, etc., which resembles a favela. All in all, a bit disappointing.

08/06/2025: We spent four nights in this so-called luxury hotel in Syracuse, paying €250 per night for two people – and it was an utter disappointment. The hotel is indeed historic, over 100 years old, but we were given a small attic room that looked like it had been hastily converted from former servant quarters or utility space. The entrance door was partially broken, and the bathroom was absurdly cramped – barely enough room to pass between the bidet and the shower. It was more of a storage closet than a bathroom. The view from the window? A literal garbage area. The only positive was that the room was clean. Breakfast was a fiasco. Tables were left dirty from previous guests, with the overwhelmed staff unable to keep up. When a table was finally cleared, it still had a stained tablecloth. The coffee – unbelievably – came from a Nestlé machine, and was frankly undrinkable, which in Italy is shocking. Powdered scrambled eggs that were constantly missing, half-empty trays left unreplenished... A truly poor experience. We voiced our concerns at the front desk and were told we’d be moved to a higher standard room the next day. We agreed. But when we asked again, they told us the “superior” room was now occupied and offered us a ridiculous discount at their restaurant and bar instead – as if that made up for the disappointment. We had no intention of dining there anyway. If no superior rooms were available, they could’ve offered a deluxe – but clearly, they had no intention of making things right. Disorganized, overpriced, and far from what it promises. We would absolutely not stay here again, and we cannot recommend it to others.

11/06/2025: My point of reference for eating a good ice cream when I go to Syracuse... Various flavors and quality products... Prices are normal... You have to try the Mattonella with Ice Cream..

10/06/2025: Genuine, simple and delicious flavors! Traditional place that makes you breathe the real simple Sicily. Brioche with granita / ice cream really exceptional, we always went there for breakfast or after dinner!! My mother said that they were the same flavors she felt in her childhood, when she came to Sicily in the summer. Thank you so much, when I return to Sicily I will definitely go back!

30/05/2025: There were two of us, we didn't have a full dinner, but what we had was excellent: the meats and vegetables but above all the amazing hazelnut-based dessert, with a small and excellent variation of an ancient Ragusa recipe. Traditional cuisine with the choice of sourcing from local producers. Excellent idea to indicate the list of suppliers on the menu. Good wine by the glass. Pleasant, professional and hospitable service, simple but pleasant place, with attention to some details. More than adequate wine cellar. InA place to keep in mind. It costs about 35-40 depending on the dishes and wines and that's all there. Location on the beautiful central square of Rosolini and this is also a pleasure.
