06/03/2026: For me, it's home now, not just a restaurant. I don't want to take anything away from anyone, but for me, eating in Palazzolo is like going to the Taverna. It's been 6 years since we first came here, and it was love at first sight. The excellent cuisine, the quality and deliciousness of every dish, the atmosphere, the kindness, the pleasant hospitality, and that love for cooking and one's work passed down from Father to Son. A great host, he embodies the excellence of Palazzolo cuisine.

03/03/2026: Reservation for Saturday evening. Upon arrival, we were abruptly ushered out by the owner with the promise of "a couple of minutes." Upon my return, after a quarter of an hour of waiting outside, I received an extremely annoyed response in front of other customers. I kept my tone calm and politely replied, pointing out that a legitimate question could be answered politely without that rude tone. The table was assigned after a long wait. Throughout the evening, no clarification was given, no gesture of attention, as if to imply that treating customers this way was normal practice. Delays happen, and that's understandable. Arrogance and inappropriately authoritative tones are also not. Hospitality isn't optional, but a basic ingredient for anyone working in the restaurant business. The food was average, but inevitably tainted by a bitter aftertaste from the attitude I received. I won't be returning.

Obviously, the prices are a bit higher than the local average, but they're worth it. Very attentive and knowledgeable service. Congratulations!

23/01/2026: Nothing bad I could say about this hotel it was perfect for my needs. I was visiting portopalo carrying out research for the 61st Highland Anti Tank Regiment who landed here on 10th of July 1943. The room had everything I needed Desk, good WiFi, ample storage space, safe, spacious bathroom, Sofa, TV, king size bed, decent car park and a balcony looking over Di Capo Passero. I don't speak Italian but the host was patient and we translated through Google translate. Everything was stress free

19/10/2025: We dined here on 3 occasions as we were staying in the hotel, even though we had plenty of options in the area, this was one of the best restaurants around. The service was outstanding. The food was always fresh, beautifully presented, and of the highest quality.

25/12/2025: Terrible breakfast, little choice, food of poor quality, not at all fresh, typical of a two-star hotel, friendly but unprofessional staff. Neglected outdoor spaces. Villa Politi, a historic hotel, a flagship of Syracuse from the 80s, is now in decline, a great shame.

14/12/2025: A beautiful and historic hotel just a short walk away from the shoreline (highly recommend taking advantage of the park/plaza nearby - the ocean views are stunning!). There’s a grandiose sort of feeling as you approach the building, walking up the marble staircase and into the lobby, which opens up into a large sitting room before it sections off into elevators and smaller hallways. We were here in early December and the hotel had started to decorate for the holidays, which added to the cozy feeling. Rooms are modest but tastefully and minimally furnished. The shower stall in my room was quite small and certainly not accommodating to those who will be larger or taller or perhaps even claustrophobic. I comically told my friends it was barely big enough to do a full turn in the shower. There is no shelving in the shower - not ideal and an area of improvement for the hotel to consider. Surrounding noise from the hallways and any rooms next door/nearby is a sizable nuisance as there’s next to zero sound proofing. Despite the beautiful ambiance of the Grand Hotel Villa Politi, the 2 biggest areas of critique are food related. There is only one restaurant nearby (small cafe/coffee shop of sorts). No shops, no other food options available. The breakfast offering at the hotel is significantly lacking. It is literally 90% carb loaded (room temperature breads, sweets, rolls). So if you like your breads, you’ll be delighted with the enormous array of carbs. The 2 hot food items (eggs, ham) were not adequately sized to feed a large tour group. It was 2 small trays that kept running out because people were waiting and then quickly depleting whatever was put out. I simply gave up trying to get a hot breakfast. If you know you’re going to have 50+ people dining at breakfast, have enough staff and food to feed that amount of people. The hot entrees set out were **barely** enough to feed 10. Doesn’t make for a pleasant start to the day when you’re waiting for hot food, never receive hot food and the only other majority option is carbs. Hence only 3 star rating from me.

12/10/2025: Went in for a quick bite of gelato and were disappointed. The Amarena Cherry gelato tasted like banana.

10/10/2025: The reviews are more than up to date, the atmosphere is pleasant, the brioche with the granita is spectacular, the brioche is fresh, the granita is very good, and in the end, one of the best I've tasted in Ortigia, I highly recommend it!

08/03/2026: It's well known that their desserts and ice cream are delicious. Excellent value for money. Yesterday we tried their pizzas, perfectly leavened, light and crispy, without leaving a heavy feeling. A real treat. I highly recommend them. I personally had the Margherita, excellent quality of the ingredients (tomato sauce and mozzarella). We will definitely be back to try the other flavors. Highly recommended. Excellent work.

08/02/2026: A historic bar in the center, among the most famous and beloved by the people of Lentini. Welcoming, ideal for breakfast, desserts, and Sicilian granitas. Delicious, traditional products, a friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere make it a recommended place, with moderate prices.

24/03/2026: Tried to enter at 15:20 and we were told that we cannot use the kitchen but we can have a drink (which is what we wanted anyway) The host was beyond rude stating we cannot order anything, and made it clear that they don’t serve food but will do us a favour to let us for coffee. Ordered coffee, and two more drinks and the coffee never arrived. When we paid we informed them we never received the orderer coffee, and we were told that they just though we don’t want it. The host was beyond rude, and the staff were rather mean to us. Also, there is no way to lock the bathrooms so you are exposed, hoping nobody will enter while you are there as female WC is facing the entrance. Will not recommend

16/02/2026: Beautiful place, terrible food. The worst pasta I've had in Italy in years. It wasn't fresh, it was swimming in oil. Tasteless, completely bland. And ridiculously expensive.
