28/06/2025: L’Istrione is located in Stilo, in the province of RC, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Together with my friends we opted to have lunch in this restaurant, which I would define as a gem; both for the interior, all completely in stone with a touch of modernity, and for the exterior, since it allows you to be outdoors away from any type of noise (especially cars). We opted for a fish appetizer, I would define abundant and very fresh; they then recommended us to try a first course based on cream of asparagus and lemon with shellfish that I would define SUPERLATIVE. as a second course we had a central grilled fish and a mixed fried fish, also very very good. We then opted for a good Calabrian beer; the restaurant, being the home of beer, has numerous really good craft beers. Very young and competent staff, attentive to every type of customer need. Adequate and not excessive bill. We will return!

17/06/2025: Ero con le mie due figlie teenager e volevamo prendere delle insalate da mangiare sul treno. Il personale è stato molto gentile. Ha proposto di inserire delle varianti nella mia insalata (olive). Poi ha proposto di darci due porzioni di pane. Ho chiesto 3 bottigliette di acqua. Il conto è stato piuttosto salato (45euro) ma ci ha regalato 1 acqua visto che non l'aveva inserita nel conto. Peccato che in treno io abbia scoperto che né c'erano l'aggiunta di olive (non pagata) e le due porzioni di pane (pagate). Mi sono sentita presa in giro.

29/03/2025: For years I have been frequenting this refuge with my family, exceptional from all points of view, congratulations to Paolo always available for every need, Mattia excellent skimen, all the staff very good, they are great friends for us

13/02/2025: we went to the restaurant with the ski school they gave us the possibility to choose between two VERY questionable dishes (pasta with sauce or ragù WITHOUT OTHER ALTERNATIVES) the very rude waiter responded to us in a confidential and grumpy manner the waiter only allowed one girl to take a different dish from those offered to the whole group (pussy works miracles) I found a hair on the plate and he replied: "take it off, come on, a robot didn't do it" he wanted me to continue eating the dish without apologizing or worrying about hygiene. BAD AND NOT RECOMMENDED RESTAURANT ps to eat something besides the plate with the hair inside I would have to pay extra... Moral of the story I was starving

01/06/2025: Despite the awareness of the difficulties in the restaurant sector, we would have expected more attention, considering the high prices. The mussels pepper was good, but the first courses (mussels and clams) arrived without clams, in small portions and very salty. After reporting it, we asked for two salads from the menu, which however were not available. The staff showed obvious annoyance and we decided to leave. A constructive criticism, with the hope that it will serve to improve.

04/05/2025: Stopped because everything was closed on Sunday evening, welcoming and friendly staff, good food, modern location and excellent dishes both in presentation and quality. Advised.

03/05/2025: Tutto molto buono!!!!!! E ho detto...Tutto! Buono sia il mangiare cinese sia il cibo italiano! Anche la pizza molto buona...io vengo da anni e ogni volta mi trovo benissimo.

23/03/2025: Consigliato da un amico, abbiamo cenato per la prima volta in questo locale ieri sera. Secondo me il menù, non propone piatti freschi dato che le verdure di accompagnamento o di ripieno o di piatto vegetariano non sono di stagione. Decorazioni dei piatti uguali per diverse preparazioni, come le salse o le creme di accompagnamento. Oltretutto non è stagione di porcini per una zuppa del giorno! Canederli immangiabili da quanto duri… Camerieri che per ben due volte, una volta portato il piatto, dimenticano le posate. Che dire di positivo: fantastica la simpatia della proprietaria! Ma non basta per tornare. Peccato!

20/02/2025: Siamo stati due volte a pranzo in questo bel ristorante, scoperto per caso e ne faremo meta frequente in altopiano. Ambiente pulito, accogliente, ordinato; servizio professionale , attento e presente. Menù con attenzione ai prodotti della montagna ma anche proposte (quasi) gourmet. Scelta varia senza essere eccessiva. I piatti vengono serviti in tempi corretti e ben presentati, in modo semplice ma con giusti tocchi di colore, senza decorazioni esagerate. Materia prima buona e preparazione buona, sia dei primi che dei secondi. Nel ragout di cervo forse un po' troppa cipolla ma ottima la consistenza e grossolanità della carne. Quantità abbondante. Cantina normale. Nota positiva sull'offerta al calice con buone etichette. Non abbiamo ancora assaggiato i dolci. Prezzo assolutamente in linea ed addirittura scontato tra menù e ricevuta (non penso ad un errore essendo capitato due volte su due). Lo consiglio. Indispensabile prenotare

29/06/2025: These rude people accepted an order promising fast delivery, then after more than an hour of waiting they thought it was a good idea to cancel it without even bothering to give an explanation. No communication, zero transparency, just a nice “order canceled” on the app and goodbye. And of course, it takes up to seven days for the refund — because banks are unforgiving, even when they are the ones making the mistake. Amateur service, total lack of respect for the customer.

22/06/2025: After getting off the train, my mother and I stopped for lunch at “Natoo”. Very friendly staff and quick to serve.
