28/03/2025: If you want to feel like you're eating in someone's family home in Italy, a cheerful family making and serving great food, you want to come here. We had an experience like this twenty five years ago in Palermo, and it is such a relief from standard restaurant dining. The food feels steeped in tradition, it's hearty and full of strong flavors. There are many vegetarian options, my partner (who is a vegetarian) had an eggplant pasta dish, I had zucchini. While the latter doesn't sound very interesting, it was. There's a menu but it is irrelevant, Giovanna shows you what you can have and you pick it out, right there at the front of the kitchen. Giovanna and Carlo bring it to the table, make sure you like it, pour the wine you ordered, and then you get in with it. The dessert was excellent also, we had the chocolate and pistachio cake and fresh strawberries. So while there are some nice "fancy" restaurants here, this is the one place you have to eat when you are in Matera.

19/03/2025: first time in an African restaurant, the environment is wonderful and the staff friendly and professional. As for the food, it's excellent but you have to like it, they have particular and very authentic flavours, I recommend, if you like spicy it's fine but in case you can ask for it not spicy, I personally also eat spicy but I found some dishes too strong, mea culpa, next time I'll ask differently :D

10/03/2025: Very small, very cozy, and very tasty food. We had unsurpassable dumplings and were persuaded to have Kaiserschmarrn for dessert and thus enjoyed the best Kaiserschmarrn we have ever had.

10/04/2025: Avoid this campsite at all costs if you're towing a trailer or driving a large camper. The access road is a complete nightmare: narrow, winding, and with steep downhill sections where passing or turning is physically impossible. We got stuck on a descent right before a ridiculously tight turn and literally couldn't go any further. There are no warnings on their website, no signs, no nothing - as if this kind of access is totally acceptable. Spoiler: it's not. This place is absolutely not suitable for anything bigger than a van, despite claiming to be "camper friendly". That's a lie. Total waste of time, nerves, and a huge safety risk. Stay away.

18/03/2025: Valentine's Day spent at Cannubi. Not bad food, nice location, very kind and knowledgeable staff. I would like to be able to go there once for lunch to enjoy the view. If you are in the Langhe you have to stop here 😊

21/03/2025: I went to Donzellino for my birthday. Antonia welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. Traditional cuisine but perfectly executed. I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend an evening in pleasant company.

23/03/2025: Small place with a lot of flair. The menu offers several choices of Tex-Mex gastronomy, which allows to satisfy even those who are not familiar with Mexican cuisine. The service is excellent with a very prepared and courteous team. Everything is delicious with a fair price for the quality received. It is advisable to book, as the place is not very big and it is not possible to ask for separate bills at the cashier (so it is better to agree beforehand)... Surprised in a positive way, we will definitely return to taste these excellent dishes.

16/03/2025: My husband and I had dinner there last night and chose the tasting menu for 80 euros per person. 8 high quality courses. All very good, prepared with great care, very beautiful dishes to look at. The staff is highly trained and very attentive to the customer. The chef came out to present us two dishes and his enthusiasm in explaining his creations made an excellent impression on me. The only flaw is that it is not very easy to get there by car following the directions of the navigator coming from Lovere, we are Friulians so we don't know the area.
